What would you give to be a dragon rider and marry the princess?

Two months ago, 18-year-old Hest discovered a baby dragon under the dungeon, and now he’s hearing the dragon’s voice. It comes at the strangest times, but usually when he needs it most in training fights. If only he could know when he’d get the help consistently instead of being the laughing stock of the other knights.

But not everyone believes the baby dragon is safe. The kingdom mage warns Hest that the dragon will overpower him if he’s not careful. As the bond grows in strength, Hest can’t keep it a secret, and if he thought life as a knight was complicated, try being next in line for the crown!

Hest isn’t the only one who wants the position as king. A traitor mage is determined to steal not only the crown, but the princess and Hest’s dragon!

Keeping a dragon is harder than finding one, but Hest will do anything—even allow the dragon to control him—to save his kingdom and his betrothed.

Blessed is the second book in this amazing series. I honestly could not and did not want to put down my Kindle. It was SO GOOD!

It's been two months since the first book ended and a lot has already happened. Hest has been bonding more with the dragon, Usheen, that he found in the last book. Hest hears his voice at times when he doesn't want to. But Usheen is really only trying to help Hest, and at times he does need it. Now that Usheen, an arc lukesure has chosen Hest, this now means that Hest is in line for throne. Something that he never imagined for himself who was once an orphaned stable boy. How things have changed for him since. Not everyone is happy that he has advanced so far and is now a Ritter. There are some that don't really like him and there is one mage that wants what he is set to have. A mage from the previous book is going to try and take Usheen, the princess Sibohan and become king.

There is so much that happens in this installment. I really enjoyed how Hest and Usheen's bond developed throughout the book. I also really like Sibohan and how she just doesn't bow down and do whatever her father Athair, the King says. I liked that they became friends and that their relationship is slowly developing. The book progressed at a great pace with so much going on. I liked that the author brought in the character Finn too. I think he will be a great part of the story to come. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. Not knowing what was going to happen to some of my favorite characters.

I loved the first book but this one took it to a whole new level. I would recommend this series to anyone that loves fantasy, you will not be disappointed. This e-book was provided to me for review. This did not affect my review in any way.

I thought the first book was awesome. This one topped even that one. The book progressed in a way I was not expecting. New bonds are made, an old threat returns. A kingdom must change hands due to a prophecy. At times I sat on the edge of my seat wondering if the character would make it out alive, of a situation the author put them in. This is one of those books you need to set aside time to read because you won't want to stop once you start. There are many more to come in this series and I can't wait for them to come out. I definitely recommend this book.

Hest had found a baby dragon in the dungeon, and now hears its voice all the time. Over the two months since the discovery, they have bonded, but not everyone in the kingdom thinks it's safe. Hest can't hide the bond he shares, which puts him in line for the throne. A mage is now determined to steal the crown, the dragon and the princess. As difficult as it is for Hest to deal with, he'll even let the dragon control him if it means the kingdom can be safe.

This is the second book in the trilogy, following Uprooted. In that book, Hest was taken away from a humdrum life with the intention of teaching him to be a squire and horseman and ultimately became a spy for the king. With accidents like that, it's no wonder that he finds himself in even more dangerous situations. In this book, we pick up not too long after the first book, so you absolutely must read that one first. Hest is still a student in his new land, and still learning who he can trust.

I do like that Hest doesn't immediately know everything, and isn't magically better just because of his connection with a dragon. He still trains, studies and pushes himself to do more. He doesn't take anything for granted, though some of that is out of sheer ignorance about the kingdom and the relationships and responsibilities that are common there. Because Hest is now primed to be king, there are a lot more to the kingdom festivities, the potential damage that Liam could do if he decides to attack, and the future of the kingdom. It's a lot of detail, and between that and Hest's confusion, it really slows down the pace for a good portion of the book. Even times when it should be incredibly tense, there's too much talk, and I don't feel the intensity of the moment. Other subplots show Hest's caring and how he empathizes with the poor, homeless and orphaned. Unfortunately, this comes at a time when it's implied there should be more action coming up. When it all does come to a close, we still have a hook for the third book in the trilogy, a bigger bad than Liam.

This did not disappoint. It's the second installment in the Four Stars Over Ardatz: Sovereigns series, and brought some more depth to the world and characters. Hest has come a long way since we first met him in book one, and the challenges he faces aren't any less daunting. There were a few unexpected (but not unwelcome), twists sprinkled in that kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. Wyatt does such an excellent job of bringing the world and characters to life, you feel like you're right in the middle of it as it unfolds. Highly recommend starting with book one, so you can enjoy this one to its fullest!

Takes you away

It is easy to get pulled into the world and all its goings on of Four Stars over Ardatz. I enjoyed the read every moment. The underlying themes of loyalty, protection of the weak, hopefulness, and all-around adventure are a breath of fresh air. I can safely recommend it to teen readers. Thank you Kandi Wyatt!
