Brianna and Christopher's Investment in the Future . . .
Brianna Thompson reached her breaking point with the abusive treatment from Shawn, who had been one of her university professors. Not only did he isolate her from friends, but he took away all of her dreams and began to control every aspect of her life. And then he hit her. She will not let it continue any further, so she goes home to her family in Connecticut.
Brianna’s dream had always been to open a kennel and animal grooming center. Maybe now is the perfect time to pursue that. So she reaches out to her father’s friend, Christopher Addams, who works in the investment industry, a venture capitalist, and can guide her. Because he is concerned with her lack of work experience and cannot get a recommendation from her professor, he offers to invest in her business but also be a mentor to her, a silent partner guiding her on the business and finance aspect until she can continue on her own. He wants her to regain confidence in herself and be successful, not beaten down as Shawn had done to her.
When Shawn tracks Brianna down and grabs her on the sidewalk, Christopher happens to see a woman in trouble and comes to her rescue. He offers to drive her home, but she doesn’t want her mom and aunt questioning her now that Shawn has shown up. So Christopher offers to take her to his house where they can discuss the new business. And he has guest rooms so she can stay if she needs to overnight. Loving the way his home is decorated, he pulls out the designer’s portfolio and they discuss having her design the kennels. Is this a new beginning for Brianna as they fall in love. But it won’t be easy with some very difficult and awkward situations to come. The twists and turns along the way will test their bond, especially when Shawn is determined to ruin everything.

This is the fifth book in the Daddy knows best series.
Like all previous books, it's a standalone and an older man/younger woman kind of story. I really enjoyed this one too. It is fast paced, well written and great word building. Beautiful characters, great chemistry, twist and drama and lots of steam. . I received an ARC from booksprout and I m leaving my honest review.

Learning to Love and Trust Again
An only child, Brianna Thompson is used to being central in the lives of her parents, Michael and Michelle. So, when time for college came, it was not surprising that her parents were a little resistant to allowing their tall, slender, beautiful, blond hair and blue-eyed daughter’s matriculation at a big city university, rather than going to a local college. But after graduation with a degree in animal science, Brianna didn’t return home. Rather, she chose to stay in Boston. I do wish that the author would engage a strong proofreader to help sort out grammar issues, especially pronouns.

Brianna is coming back home after being in an abusing relationship. She doesn't want her parents to know about it because they were against her leaving to go away to college. She is looking to open her own business and has sent her business plan to her father's best friend to look over as a possible investment. Christopher was planning to look over Brianna's information as a favor for her father but once he read what she was wanting to do any all her research he knew it was a sound business plan. When they meet sparks fly between them and Christopher tries to fight his attraction for her. When his date with her aunt ends badly Chris runs into Brianna as she is fighting with her es on the street. Once he sees how violent her ex can be Christopher wants to hire someone to watch over her. Its not long before things heat up between them. Will Christopher admit that he wants more with her? What will her parents say about them. Will they be able to deal with her ex?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Comme si mes parents ne m’en voulaient pas déjà assez de sortir avec un mec plus âgé… J’en ai trouvé un autre. Cette fois-ci… c’était le meilleur ami de mon père !
Et cette fois, j’étais vraiment amoureuse. Le moins qu’on puisse dire c’est que mon ex était toxique. Christopher m’a aidée à me reconstruire quand personne n’a été là pour moi.
Il est devenu mon tout. Mon espoir, mon cœur… et mon désir. Il m’a appris des choses sur la vie, et même au lit. Je lui étais redevable. Je n’arrivais pas à croire à quel point il était déterminé à me protéger de mon ex. Malgré notre relation passionnelle, tout était contre nous. Le monde entier était contre nous.
Est-ce que notre amour serait assez fort pour surmonter ce combat ?

Daddy's Best Friend is the fifth book in the Daddy Knows Best series and is slow burning romance with a couple tropes mixed together. The story is about Brianna and Christopher who know each other as he is her father's friend. But when she returns home to start over after leaving an abusive boyfriend she turns to Christopher for help with a business idea. He becomes her investor and the two work closely together to get the business up and going. The more time they spend together the more their attraction grows until they become secret lovers. But when her ex shows up will Christopher finally really invest in their relationship and make Brianna do the same, after all they have been playing at things for a while.
This story had a mix of things happening throughout including her family and some other drama. I did like both Brianna and Christopher and the big age gap did not create an issue between them. Overall this was an enjoyable story by the author.

If you like older man/younger women romances you'll enjoy this book. Of course I loved the heroine Brianna especially since we both share the same first name. Brianna was still recovering from an abusive ex which caused her to move back to her home town. Her parents didn't approve of her past relationship with an older man. What do they think about her getting involved with another older man. This time he just happens to be her dad's best friend. Chris is so supportive of her and their romance is sweet. Their chemistry is off the charts. No shortage of twists or drama. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great concept, but felt the plot lost some of its direction the further it went along. The ending was okay, but the pregnancy announcement felt forced instead of a surprise that happened. I would have loved to see more of the relationship develop between Christopher and Brianna and how they over came her trust issues. It was like she was abused and in therapy and then trusting again. There was a step missed there in the way of their relationship. Again, great concept, but had there been length to the story, I think there could have been greater character development that would have made things not feel so rushed.

Beautiful love story
Two people who meet at just the right time. He's a owner of an investment firm and she needs an investor. The sparks are flying from the first time they meet. But, he's also one of her father's good friends and older than her. Plus, an old boyfriend is not ready to let her go. Madness and mayhem insue but it all leads up to a love for the ages. Lovely story.

The premise is an age gap forbidden romance. I can get behind that, but the over the top ridiculous reaction to said romance by the parents is just not believable. And the age gap doesn't ever get explained. How can it be fifteen years? Is he younger than the father? I have questions that went unanswered. But positive kudos for the need for therapy when dealing with crappy stuff that can happen to anyone, anywhere.

I boluntarily reviewed an arc of this book and I really enjoyed it.
The fast-paced older man/younger woman storyline is well-written and sweet and steamy. Christopher and Brianna have plenty of chemistry and when Brianna's manipulative ex shows up and starts chaos Christopher is there for her. Both are wonderful characters.

This was an excellent read! Oftentimes books in this series are so predictable but this one included enough uniqueness that it kept me turning the page. It was especially good at normalizing the use of therapy.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A sweet romance. But…not without a lot of drama. Brianna’s ex and her parents had their own way in this story. Thankfully there were friends a family of Christopher that behaved better.

Tremendous storyline of lovers

I feel like this book was rushed. It took no time for the 2 main characters to get together. I also think it was weird how the main characters parents acted when she told them they were together. It was alittle extreme and they forgave way to quickly.

I was expecting a bit of Daddy Kink here, but it was only an age gap story. Cute, but not what I was expecting.

He always told her she would be nothing without him but her sessions with a therapist suggested that she do something for herself. She connects with Christopher who is a financial advisor and a friend of her father's, who decides to take a chance on her business. It will also start them on a journey of discovery that will lead them to their final destination of happiness but along that journey will be several twists and turns that will have them bearing down to weather the storm that is coming.
