Someone wanted my powers… One moment Alice was having a vision of my powers being taken, and the next my world was thrown upside down. As much of a shock as it was for me to become karma in the first place, my magic was now a part of me. Like my soul. The thought of losing it was more than I could handle. And someone was bound and determined to take it from me. Any way they could. But with my big bear shifter by my side, and with the help of my witchy friends, I knew I could save my powers. Because as much good and bad karma as I’ve given to others, I thought I was destined for a little goodness myself. I just hoped the universe felt the same way.

This continues the story of Emma, Daniel, Henry, Alice, and the supernatural inhabitants of Mystic Hollow. There is a lot of humor despite the seriousness of the situation. Emma’s friends rally around her in a show of unbroken support and they become even closer to each other.
Now, Alice had a vision and everyone is trying to figure out who or what is coming for Emma and her Karma powers. Someone is causing terrible, evil trouble. It seems to be the original, but now faceless, Karma, coming to reclaim her powers. Evil acts seem directed at anyone associated with Emma. Her friends try to lend support, but they are targeted too. Even dwarves and gnomes have become victims of faceless Karma. Some of the romances develop and Emma and Daniel become much closer to each other as they move in together. More chaos and mischief continue as Emma and her friends try to undo the wickedness perpetuated by Alma, until the final showdown when karma chooses who Karma should be.

Loved it!

It’s been a hot second since I’d read the previous book, but once I got into it, everything came back to me about this story quickly. And man… what a ride. Emma, who has the power of Karma, starts having dreams about Karma telling her she wants her powers back after a vision from Alice saying someone was going to take her powers. Little does she know; she is about to have to take down Karma… lol a previous Karma who went evil but wants her powers back. This Karma starts setting up situations that have bad consequences and then jumps in to save the day, and she demands that Emma give her the powers since she did an unselfish deed. Except she knows that this previous Karma is not a good person, but her powers don’t necessarily agree.

This was a GREAT story, and I loved every bit of it. Now, I can’t wait to see what is going on with Deva’s restaurant and how she has been cursed.

It may have taken our heroine a bit to adjust to her powers, but now that she has, no one is going to take them away.

This is book six of the series. It does fine as a standalone. All the essential bits are covered early on.

This is a paranormal romance story with a mature heroine and a small town with unexpected magic. The story and characters are both well written and easy to read. Both the plot and the setting have a lot of secrets and watching the slow reveal is half the fun of the story. The setting and the characters all develop with each new book and it is always fun to see what new things crop up. This one gives our heroine her biggest challenge yet and makes her think about what she really wants out of life. Overall, this is a fun read and I look forward to seeing more adventures in the future.

Highly recommended.

Magic Lost…Possibly…EEK!

I'm enjoying this series. I actually wish selected people could mete out both good and bad karma! The author did an excellent job showing in this book how much Alice really cared about her magical power (gained in the first book of the series perfectly!) and how much it's become woven into the fabric of her life and is essential to who she perceives herself to be. So when she feels like it may be taken from her, she really struggles. But I love the super supportive friends she has, including her special bear shifter. A very enjoyable read, but certainly read the prior books in the series (five of them!) before you read this one so you can truly appreciate this heroine, her friends, and her special guy.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Karma's source, in this book we learn so much more about the origins of Karma. Emma the embodiment of Karma and her friends are dealing with a being who wants Emma to give up her powers.

This book is more psychological in that Emma comes to terms with how the past has hurt her and affected her self-esteem. By realising her worth and the value of herself to the people around her she comes to some realisations and improves her self-esteem.

No spoilers here but the book comes to a conclusion and links into the next book in the series.

I love the writing, funny and warm with thoughtful elements. Although it is part of a series, I think it is possible to read it as a standalone. Looking forward to see what happens next.

Faced with new tasks related to Karma, the gang also finds themselves facing questions of curses, destiny, retribution and design

what are they called to, individually and collectively?

what are they responsible for, and what might be the costs and effects?

Several must face the weight of choices and chances taken or lost. Burdens are said to be lighter to bear when shared, but is trouble like a disease, spreading to those you care for?

Action and psychological drama packed supernatural mysteries and adventures that kep you guessing to the end - then waiting for the next book with me to see how the drama continues to unfold

There’s something so satisfying about getting to watch Karma at work. Whether for good or ill, Emma and her friends are on the case and will do everything in their power to make sure that karmic justice gets its way. This book gives us all kinds of new information about the history of Karma as well as some tantalizing hints about what may be coming up in the lives of Emma’s friend group, to the point I’m itching to find out what’s going to happen next. (PS. I’m with the cat. Anyone who believes the little white mouse is entirely innocent has obviously never heard of The Brain.)

Karma's Source is book six in the Magical Midlife in Mystic Hollow series and it feels like forever since I read book five. Once I started reading Karma's Source all of the interesting and quirky characters came back to me and made this a great read. In this book Alice has a vision of someone taking Emma's powers and things take some mysterious and interesting turns. I am loving this series with its unique storylines, interesting characters, humor, unexpected twists, and an ending that left me ready for book seven. I can't wait to see how this entertaining series ends. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Losing Karma ? . . .

Mystic Hollow is a busy place. Emma’s friends are trying to help her in any way they can through this next disaster. Alice had a vision that someone wants to take Emma’s Karma powers. It turns out to be that an old Karma, hiding her identity behind a spell, is trying to reclaim the powers for herself by stealing them from Emma. Fortunately Emma trusted in herself despite the faulty identification of her powers telling her the old Karma was “good”. Would she be able to defeat the evil old one? Or would she lose the powers that had finally become a part of her?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. An old Karma came to steal Emma's powers. The old one was using a spell to hide how she truly was. I like that Emma trusted her own instincts despite what her powers told her. The justice delivered to the evil old one was truly deserving.

I am really enjoying this series, and this book is a good addition. Alice has a vision of someone coming for Emma's powers and the whole gang rally around to try and help. Easier said than done, when nobody knows who is coming or what to expect. Some good revelations about the origins of Karma's powers, and as witty as ever. Good, fast paced read.

Good series

This is a series about Emma becoming Karma and accepting a new life. The plot and subplots move quickly and the twists make it hard to put the book down. The characters are growing throughout the storyline, keeping it interesting. I can't wait for the next book!

Alice and her friends are back for another entertaining story. And of course trouble is causing issues as someone is after her powers. But watching it all unfold was a riot as these friends do what they do best and entertain me along the way. And Karma is involved along the way.

Awesome

Emma and her friends have a busy PI business helping supernaturals with any problems they have. Things to take an unexpected turn when someone shows up demanding karma powers back! Will this be the end of her powers? Excellent book! The series is worth reading!

Woah. That was intense! The showdown between Alma and Emma. I am glad Emma decided the way she did. I also enjoyed Karma’s decision regarding Alma. That was funny and fitting. I am looking forward to the next book to find out what is going on with Deva! Love this series!

I had the first five books then noticed there were two more.
I reread them all again and now the sixth one, tonight I am getting book seven and don’t doubt I will read them all again in the future.

Get it, Karma!

Excellent ending! I couldn’t see a way that with all the evil she was doing, that one act that fixed one of her evil actions would be reason enough for transferring powers to her. Crazy!

Great addition to series

This is not really a stand alone book. It is best read as part of the series. A lot is packed into the last 25% of this book so plan time to finish once you reach that point. I will be reading the next in the series.

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE EATEN, oops do I mean evil?
Beware!! Crazy is on the loose and no one is safe.
Poor Emma just can not get a break can she? But the good news is she has a posse of friends and a supportive boyfriend to back her up.
RECOMMENDED AUTHOR AND SERIES!

Easy read, good characters

Easy read. Picks up the storyline for Emma and her Karma persona. A few editing and grammatical errors, but a decent plot and good character development. I keep reading the series, so the story line must be there lol. I'm ready to see what's next.

Happiness

What really makes you happy is a good bit of thought highlighted in this book. Although little else progresses it does give hints which way the latter books will go.
