I thought I'd finally outrun my past. But when my mate is on the line, I'll sacrifice everything to keep her safe.

Here in the City of a Thousand Pleasures, my life is good. My dark past is far behind me, and there might be a sweet future with Serra, the prettiest little human I've ever seen.

But when the troubles of her past come crashing into our lives, I have no choice but to intervene. I publicly claim her as my starbound mate. No one has to know that we're just friends.

There's just one problem. I've wanted to be more than friends for a long time. And when the ghosts of her past threaten to tear her away from me, they're going to learn exactly what happens to someone who stands between a Zathari and his mate.

Bishop by Stella Frost
Rogues of the Zathari series #0.5. Science fiction romantic suspense. 1st person alternating chapters. Fated mates.
Serra Vehler is on the run. Her brother sold her to a dangerous and sadistic arms dealer and she knows he will end up killing her at some point. She was able to purchase a ticket from Earth to Borealis Station but has no idea where to go from there. She’s overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of languages, unknown planets and aliens of all types, and sizes. Serra meets a beautiful and regal gold skinned woman waiting for a flight and she ends up telling her the whole story and that’s she is trying to disappear. Serra is offered a seat on the woman’s ship and protection.
Niraj is a planet mostly covered in jungles and protected forests. The inhabited areas are made for pleasure and indulgence. Serra works for a club as a seamstress for a famous singer and seductress and has fallen in love with Bishop, the tall gray skinned and horned Zathari bodyguard. He’s lusted after Serra as well but hasn’t made any advances yet. When she comes running into the club one evening, immediately followed by the threatening arms dealer, Bishop steps up to protect Serra and get rid of the threat. He has the expertise and background. Plus Serra belongs to him now.

Wonderful story and romance. Serra is a bit naive although she’s had some ugly in her life. Bishop covers his past experience with a calm and steady facade. Thrown into danger, and then seclusion for safety, their relationship blooms and grows.
Exciting and easy, fast read.

This sci-fi book was a quick read packed with intrigue, danger, and romance. I'm a sucker for a damsel in distress and while Serra could take care of herself to a degree, I loved that Bishop wanted to protect and take care of her. There was good world building and overall I enjoyed the story.

Bishop is the prequel novella to the Rogues of Zathari series. I read this one after the first book ( Havoc ) so I don't think it matters where you read this one.

Serra runs away from Earth to escape a forced marriage to the son of a crime boss and finds herself a new start on another planet. It's there she makes friends, finds a job, and gets to work alongside a handsome Zathari named Bishop. Both have a dark past but Serra and Bishop strike up a sweet friendship despite secretly having feelings for one another. Then Serra's past catches up with her and threatens everything she's come to love about her new life.

This was a very cute additional peak into the series. I think it suffers the same way a lot of novellas suffer in that the plot felt rushed. Most of the characters prior relationship was built off-page (which, again, I get it since its a novella). Still a fun read. I'm ready for more :)

I enjoyed this books because there was a tension between the characters that was implied but I experienced the time as if it was real. I felt the year it took the main characters to sort through their hesitation. When I get lost in a book like I do with a movie I am watching in a theater, I give that book an A+. Descriptions of the surroundings were vivid and I could weave the scenery together as the characters moved through them. Each additional character was distinct and I didn't confuse anyone as they were all vibrant and individual. I will admit that this story ended way too soon BUT it was a joy to read. There was a good balance of action, character development, and smut! Will absolutely be reading the other books in the series!

This is the first story I’d read by this author and it was actually given to me as a reader magnet from another author’s newsletter. It looked interesting and I gave it a whirl. I’m glad I did! It was great and I really enjoyed the character and relationship development, as well as the world building and the style. I enjoyed Bishop and Serra, the main characters, and made sure to look out for the author’s next story, which was also great! Recommending the whole series, this author is currently an auto read for me.

Super lovable. The bad%ss warrior with a heart of melted pudding for his woman. I want to be loved like that.... damn she knows how to write them.
The heroine, Serra was a little badd#ss herself. She was an orphan off of the streets. Her brother joined a gang, so she had to learn to look after herself.
Fantastic read! enjoyable from cover to cover!

I may have gotten a free copy, I left an honest review.

Another new to me author and I really enjoyed this short story. This is an introduction to the series. Serra runs from her brother who sold her to the cartel on earth and ends up off world. She meets Allie who gives her a job and Bishop Allie's bodyguard. Trouble finds her but will love save her? I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

Hilariously I read this after I read all the others. I loved Bishop & Serra! They were so adorable! And Bishop being so sweet and sometimes unsure was a juxtaposition to the other Zathari who are so confident. Great read! Can't wait for more of this universe!

Serra has left earth for parts unknown. She is escaping an arranged marriage to a deranged mobster that her brother brokered to show his loyalty. Serra manages to leave earth and lands on Borealis but is stumped as to where to go next. This is a challenge since she can’t really read the signs. She very luckily meets Allie and she and Bishop save the day. Allie starts a new life and things are going well until but a very unlucky happenstance bumps into her brother and his boss. Bishop and Allie will both have to face their pasts to be able to move forward. Nice introduction to this series.

Bishop
By Stella Frost.

This is a sci-fi book you are going to have trouble putting down, it certainly has enough action to keep you glued to the pages and yes like so many other Sci-fi romance books, it has a HEA, although I must admit the author Stella Frost has done an amazing job of giving this storyline a strong backbone with two determined characters who will not budge when it comes down to getting their own way.
Sierra finds herself away from all the trouble that was certainly following her, but she’s lucky enough to find a very compassionate female alien who takes her under her wing, she is determined to care and protect Sierra.
Along with her new friend Sierra meets Bishop, who she has an immediate attraction to, finding she gets totally tongue tied when he’s around, she keeps things at the friendship level.
Sierra’s past causes her to continually look over her shoulder, but she’s hopes the trouble was left behind on earth.
All her feelings and anxious desires come out in full force when someone from her past rears their head, all Sierra’s fears come tumbling back she’s terrified there is no place in the Galaxy that she can hide away from her fears
Will Bishop and Sierra get their chance to find out what is between them, or will Sierra find her new friends are lost to her.
Ms. Stella Frost has really done an amazing job with this book, giving the content so much depth that I even found tears from her words.
It's not a long book by any means, but it definitely packs a punch with how we are pulled into the creative world of “Bishop”

First book I've read from this author and I'll be reading another! I loved the caring friendship between them and their employer, and the found family at the brothel. I liked how they built up a long friendship and both wanted more, but were scared of messing things up. It was cute how into each other they were once they admitted their feelings. Sometimes fated mates bugs me but I thought this was done nicely.

My only quibble would be that they were too generous upon first meeting her, but you know, I'll take a world where there are kind and caring people who'll help out a stranger in distress. I would have taken more certainty for the ending but I'm hoping they'll show up in the main series so we can see more of how things work out. I'd also like to see their employer again.

This felt pretty meaty for a novella. The main story wrapped at 89% and there was a preview for the next book.
