Ginny Priem, the quintessential bachelorette with a successful career along with a full social calendar, had little time or care for dating. When a casual encounter brought Chad into her life, it changed everything. Her walls quickly crumbled and she was swept up into a fairytale relationship.
Or so she thought…
Ginny’s life sets into a tailspin as she slowly uncovers the man she fell in love with is not the man he is at all. Based on a true story, You’re My Favorite shares Ginny’s vulnerable and authentic journey of romance, heartbreak and ultimately discovering true love in the most unexpected of places.
It was real and really close to home at some points. Heard her do an interview on a podcast and had to read the book, and it was worth it! Easy, quick read. Loved it!
For the first time ever I read a book cover to cover without stopping. This was an honest, straight forward, no frills, authentic and well told experience. I felt the author’s story and share the emotions and revelations of going through an extremely hard experience and coming out grateful for who I’ve become because of it on the other side. Thank you for putting your story into words and being vulnerable. This book can speak to countless women and give us courage to be in gratitude for what is an opportunity for growth and a deeper capacity to love ourselves. Thank you
So many things that chad did/said, my ex partner of 7years did too. Ginny’s story helped me validate my grief. I was able to turn a corner as I approach 1-year since the final breakup
It is jaw-dropping what these types are capable of doing and the atrocious heartache they cause to those they claim to love.
I love a good “growing” story, thank you Ginny for sharing yours!
I found this book because of the reaction to a post about the man that this book is about. I was curious so I checked it out. The book caught my attention quickly and I devoured it. I read the whole thing over a course of a few days. This is significant for me because I have been in a big reading slump lately, picking up books and putting them down just a few chapters in. The story and subject matter itself was interesting and kept me engaged. The writing style though was a little lacking. The author jumped around quite a bit and the transitions were very abrupt. Also it almost seemed like she expected you to know new characters mentioned that she did not introduce. I was often left with questions that were left unanswered. So for me the writing style was very stilted but I did enjoy the book regardless.
I don’t usually write reviews but i need to warn everyone not to waste your time reading this book. It is so boring. Just a review of every romantic breakup and the emotional results i have every had with a happy ending wrapped in a very long therapy session. Oh how nice that she learned something from her experience. Don’t we all.
I was hooked from the moment I started this book. This is the type of story that you will want to read in one sitting if time allows. Bonus if you’re familiar with Minnesota, you can picture all of the places that are referenced. Highly recommend!
