They stalk me in my sleep, but dreams shouldn’t leave claw marks on my body.
After graduating from high school, I am feeling out of step and yearning for a little adventure. And honestly, an escape from the dreams plaguing me every night. I swear a change of scenery will shake the foreboding surrounding me and get me back on track.
I get more than I bargain for when my dreams turn into nightmares come to life.
Unable to distinguish my dreams from reality, I fear I’m losing my mind. But my friends ground me and protect me from the monsters lurking in the darkness.
The scary part…
I’m not so certain I want the monsters to stay away. They’re inside my head and I don’t know how much longer I can keep them at bay.
One thing’s for sure. They won’t stop coming for me.
Monster Capture is a steamy fated mates paranormal romance with a FMC and three hot monsters to tempt along the way.
Monster Capture is the new multiple perspective standalone monster romance by Jenna Edon. The story was fast-paced with monsters, hunters, and an mfc who goes along with things surprisingly well.
I will have to say that Eleanor is the most laid back understanding character I've read. She accepted the existence of the supernatural pretty easily and while she didn't believe the guys about the fated mate connection right away she was more open and willing than most of the female characters that I've read. There is some very interesting information that was revealed about her and I wish the author would have gone more into that and explained some things instead it feels like it was just put out there as an explanation than an actual aspect of the character. As for the guys, the monsters, from the little I got they seemed okay, I didn't really form any kinda connection with them or El.
The overall story was interesting but I don't think it was developed enough. I needed more world-building so I can get a better idea of what was going on. More information about the hunters and the guys themselves would have been nice. I understand that it's a standalone and the author can only fit so much without overloading readers but I feel more could have been done. However, the little from the guys' backstory was interesting and the hunters, specifically that family made the story more interesting. Like I said if only things were developed more.
Monster Capture was a quick and entertaining read and overall the story was interesting and ended with a HEA. I do have the first book in her each of her other two series and will be giving those a try at some point in the future.
I enjoyed the premise of this book. It was interesting, but could have used some more development of the characters. Eleanor just seemed way too accepting of things that she didn't know even existed. I would have liked some period of coming to terms with all she learns, and maybe [begin] bonding with her monsters during this process as she eases into things would seem more believable to me. I would have liked more insight and backstory into the monsters and other supporting characters. But then, I understand this is a single story, not the start of a series, so there's only so much that can be put in there without it being overwhelming and then feeling like it should be more than one book. But an interesting premise. This was the first book I've read by this author. 4 stars
This story was great! I really enjoyed the story line and the sizzle between Eleanor, Vega, Rash and Nox. It was definitely a plot twist with who the villains were - i totally didn't see that coming!!!
The ending was great!! And i loved that it sounds like it might lead into another book!!
Decent read but didn't really do a whole lot for me - it felt like I was reading a YA story at times. The characters were flat and really need a lot more development. The basic idea of the plot was interesting but there were things that could have been expanded to make the story more memorable. As a romance it was fairly basic – the monsters tell he she is their soul mate, and she just accepts it. It doesn’t work as a reverse harem as is there is minimal sex - about two pages with a woman and her harem of three monsters.
