I was not expecting the main love interest to TURN INTO A ROCK.



THAT ASIDE, things are starting to pick up. "Group of four strong enemies + their boss" is such a basic battle manga setup, but the personalities are fun and one was gotten through quickly. The drinking game, the various well-meaning dumbass demons, the variety of human/demon hybridizations, it's all good fun. Still not convinced "let's have demons and humans live in harmony man" is the actual story, but we'll see.



Mizukami is so good at impact frames, and he goes all out with the tiger transforming general. I'm not entirely clear if he's supposed to be a human who defeated the tiger and took his form, or if he's actually the tiger and the human form is an illusion.

Volume 3 meandered a bit for me, but I really like these characters and how they interact with each other and want to continue with them on their journey. I like this new "tiger guy" adversary, too. Things pick up towards the end and a sacrifice is made, but I wonder...
