Will Leblanc, Emerson's brother (married to Daphne Morelli) Dark Reign (The Collector Trilogy, #1) by Amelia Wilde , had a bad childhood, and that made him a cold man.
Now, he's in contact with his brothers again, they're close, Sinclair moved from Los Angeles to be near them.
Emerson having panic attack because Daphne is pregnant and calling his brothers.
Things are different.

descriptiondescription

But not that different, he still thinks he doesn't deserve Bristol.
She's too sweet, too caring for a man like him, like his father.

descriptiondescription

Bristol makes a mistake, she stole money from Will.
Her father told her that's the only way.
She's been mother of her twin siblings, Mia and Ben, two sweet ten years children.
Their father made them cross the country, always running from debts and people from whom he has stolen.

descriptiondescription

Will gives Briston an option, he wants her, so he would have her, for the two weeks of her contract, and he won't call the police.
The thing is… He's starts to worry about her, met her siblings, give them shelter.
But he also snaps it.
He can't allow anyone to leave him, so he leaves them first…

Finn Hughes appears, they're dealing the fusion of the companies, we can read more about it in Three to Get Ready (Hughes, #3) by Skye Warren .
We also see a short appearance of Poseidon The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (The Devil Trilogy, #1) by Amelia Wilde , Hades King of Shadows (King of Shadows, #1) by Amelia Wilde (that helps Leo Morelli with his problem with the back pain, for what Caroline Constantine did to him) Secret Beast (Beast of Bishop's Landing, #1) by Amelia Wilde and Zeus's brother Richer than God by Amelia Wilde , in the fighting ring, the same ring that Finn takes Eve in their first date One for the Money (One for the Money, #1) by Skye Warren .

⛔️ Possible warning for book #2 ⛔️

Hero hint's in this book that he likes the idea that heroine "service" other men and she likes the idea and thinks it's hot.

So there is a possibility of sharing or something similar in books to come (book #2 or #3). As this author has gone that direction in other books with no advance info in synopsis letting the reader know more parties involved than m/f. Just let readers know.

Past history I've had with this author (reading a series and finding out in book 2 that there is sharing/menage with no notification or caution for the reader). I am investing in a m/f romance only from your synopsis.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...). This is the brother's book from this hero. In that book the hero (this hero's brother) shared the heroine with his 2 brothers (this hero). m/m/m/f.

Definitely a pattern with this author, some readers want to know whether it's two partner romance or you're going with multiple partners in your story and sex scenes.

Ever the fixer of her father’s problems, Bristol Anderson, has taken a temp position at Summit Equity to support her siblings, 10-year old twins, Mia & Ben.

When another failed con brings trouble right to their door, literally, Bristol takes a page from her father’s book in order to ensure her siblings’ safety.

As a financial anomaly is uncovered by the Summit Equity CFO, Will Leblanc makes a split-second decision to deliver the consequences himself.

What starts as a twisted game, of sorts, quickly morphs as the temp embeds herself under the skin of the self-made billionaire. And yet, perpetually tyrannized by the past, Will can’t let go and trust that people do stick around, won’t allow himself to believe that he deserves good things, including love.

As so many of my fellow romance addicts, I’m a sucker for a tortured hero. We catch enough glimpses of his soft center to know when his walls finally crumbled, he will be e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. And in the meantime, he’s a filthy beast between the sheets (and on the conference table, and against…) who gives first rate dirty talk.

EXCERPT FROM BLACKMAIL

The corner of Mr. Leblanc’s mouth lifts. It’s not a kind gesture. It’s cruel. As if he’s only waiting for the perfect moment to attack.

“It’s time for a performance review.”

“A performance review?” I rack my brain for any mention of this in the temp agency paperwork. It’s supposed to be my manager at the agency who reviews my performance based on email feedback from whoever oversees me at Summit.

This isn’t right.

What am I going to do, argue with him?

Mr. Leblanc leans back in his seat, considering me. “You’ve been here, what? Two days? That’s enough time for me to get a sense of you. Get a sense of what you’re capable of.”

“Like what?”

It might be best if I fainted. My pulse feels dangerously fast, and my blood feels dangerously thin. Like I don’t have enough in my veins for my body to work.

Then what? I’d wake up on the floor of his office. Before that, I’d be unconscious. Vulnerable.

My vision narrows, but I concentrate hard on keeping it together.

I think of the beach. Hot sand and cool water. Waves lapping at the shore. A breeze through palm leaves. Me in a brand-new bathing suit. Me dipping my toes into the shallows, not in jail.

“Like your strengths. And your weaknesses.”

The way he says weaknesses makes my stomach clench.

“I thought I got your coffee right.” I offer weakly. One cream. No sugar. Not from Starbucks.

He doesn’t laugh at my joke.

He smiles, slow and deadly, the blue in his eyes shaded in green. I have a flash of clarity, as if I’m seeing through an illusion. As if I’ve been looking through murky water at him, and now I see what he is. Dangerous.

The hand-tailored jacket slung over the back of his chair doesn’t dispel the illusion. It doesn’t make him seem less deadly. And it doesn’t make me any less afraid.

I blink, hoping he doesn’t notice, but I can’t unsee it. Will Leblanc doesn’t belong in an office. Or the office is what doesn’t match. The top-of-the-line furnishings and lemon-fresh scent are a sleight of hand. They’re meant to make people think he’s not deadly.

This is probably my last chance to run. To get up out of the chair and bolt for the door.

It seems like the right idea. The way to save my life.

I know it wouldn’t. He’d catch me, even if I ran. He’d send people after me. I stole fifty thousand dollars from his company, and from the certainty in his eyes, he knows it.

Oh, I could run. And I’d spend the rest of my life wondering when he’d find me.

My chest hurts by the time he speaks. My hands are clenched in my lap.

“The coffee was fine, Ms. Anderson. It tasted delicious. But then, we both know that’s not your weakness. That was your strength. It was a distraction. Good, but not good enough. Your father should have taught you better than that. You tried to con the wrong man.”

Bristol Anderson is a beautiful young woman who made a terrible mistake and I’m barely human. I just want to fuck her. And hurt her. And destroy her.

The second the LeBlanc showed up as secondary characters on the pages of Dark Reign, I was immediately enthralled.

If you thought Emerson had baggage from their youth, Will puts him to shame with his brand of damage. This is a man with some serious demons, and I couldn't wait to peel back the layers on this man. After all, it takes a special breed to blackmail his temporary assistant to sell her body when you find she embezzled $50k from your company.

Bristol Anderson is as down on her luck as she gets. With a con artist father who constantly lands them in some form of trouble, she's forced to be the caretaker of her younger twin siblings. When her father's latest scheme leaves his family vulnerable for payback, Bristol is forced to do something she'd never thought she would...steal. The last thing she expects is for her dangerously sexy rich boss to find out, and then demand she pays him back...but not with money.

I have to admit, I wasn't thrilled to see this turn into a trilogy for a standalone. I find myself really burned out on trilogies that don't have enough meat on the bones of the story to warrant being stretched out into 3 books. I'm curious how this would get enough steam to call for more than 2 books. Ultimately, I did like this, and binge read it in one sitting. I also couldn't help wishing it was longer. But that's my own personal bias at play.

If you like damaged heroes and down on their luck sassy heroines, this will hit the spot nicely.

Blackmail is the first book in the Controlling Interest series and ends on a cliffy (shudders in horror). Blackmail is told in first person, from dual perspective. Bristol Anderson has taken a new temp job to help support her younger siblings, since her father is a grifter and can't seem to hold down a normal job. When her dad gets in over his head and her siblings are threatened, Bristol takes a page from dad's book and tries to steal money from the company she's temping for to pay up. Her boss, Will figures out what Bristol did and rather than go to the police, he decides to blackmail her into giving him sexual favors instead.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓, 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕. 𝑰'𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒈𝒖𝒚. 𝑰'𝒎 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒆. 𝑰 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆."

Full disclosure, this is my first Amelia Wilde book and I did not know I was starting a trilogy about one couple despite a cursory check, but I'm so glad I did, it was a pretty fantastic. I just hope my peri-menopausal brain can remember all the details by the time the next book comes out, lol. Blackmail had a great storyline that moves quickly and Bristol and Will have TONS of chemistry. Will is the perfect alphahole tortured hero and he's with Bristol, the innocent, protector heroine - a perfect pairing. I love how obsessive Will is about her. How he can't help but get emotionally attached even as he tries to deny it - even to himself. Really excited to see the rest of this story - hopefully it's not a long wait!

Blackmail has taken us into the swanky boardroom of corporate America, then dragged us kicking and screaming through the sad life of a young woman trying to protect her siblings, and tossed us into the pits of underground fighting. The reader was dragged yelling and screaming on the proverbial roller coaster. It was emotionally exhausting, thoroughly depleting me of my facilities, but at times sweet, loving and caring.
Amelia Wilde you have just shattered my heart 💔❤️‍🩹

Blackmail is about Emerson's youngest brother Will LeBlanc, venture capitalist. Being an impatient bastard people who are harried and terrified of me and who ultimately fuck things up, Will regularly fires his secretaries.
The new secretary, Bristol Anderson, is hired through a temp agency for two weeks and Will can't help but notice full lips and wide eyes on this woman with full breasts that don’t look demure.

But Bristol has her own troubles back home, taking care of her twin siblings because her deadbeat father is only interested in his next con, looking for easy money. And now he has stolen from criminals with guns who threatened her siblings and Bristol needs fast money. Sadly she is not the con-artist her father is and Will easily discovers her theft, Catching her red-handed is power. And I’m going to enjoy using it very much. and he does not hesitate seizing the opportunity to get want he wants “I want you.”

It looks like the LeBlanc brothers have had a horrible childhood and my heart broke for Will. He seems very invested in Bristol and keeping her safe.
But Will is unwilling to admit to himself why he feels that, after all he is a monster.

And then the two weeks are up, and Will is gone.....

And... I was disappointed to read the spoiler about Finn & Eva, of course you know where it is headed, but still... 🤨

Another Amelia Wilde story that is fire!!

The journey of Will LeBlanc and Bristol Anderson is just beginning and so far, not only are they scorching hot together, but their story is as well! What starts of as a mere blackmail circumstance quickly turns into a heck of a lot more and I am here for every moment. They have an instant connection that burns off the pages and I’m pretty sure I spent almost my entire reading experience turned on! Do with that information what you will LOL

Will and Bristol both carry circumstances that I am sure will develop into a whole lot of twisted madness and emotional upheaval that you can already feel in the story. Like I said, this is just the beginning and I am giddy with excitement for what’s to come …

Amelia Wilde strikes again! She gave us some unforgettable alpha ahole heroes and Will Leblanc has joined the ranks. Bristol and Will's journey started with a dirty and depraved blackmail but the author soon turned it into an emotional rollercoaster.

Bristol has a lot on her plate. Her good for nothing con artist father. Her two siblings. She has to take care of them and also protect them from the unsavoury people after her father. While working as a temporary assistant to billionaire businessman Will Leblanc, she has to steal some fund but she gets caught. Will has a price. Her body. Can she really do it?

If Emerson Leblanc was an obsessed JP alpha, his brother has taken it to another level. From the first glimpse, he was addicted to Bristol's beauty. And he didnt think too much before using her weakness for his benefit. It sounds cruel and dirty but Bristol was not immune to Will's magnetic sex appeal and his brooding intensity. The blackmail was merely a weapon to kill the barrier of professionalism between them. It was just an excuse to act on their forbidden sizzling hot chemistry. As the story moves forward, we get to see Will's dark vulnerability. His past has shaped his cold heart and he doesnt let anyone easily. Even when Bristol invaded his soul with her sweet and bright presence, he kept her at a distance. He is afraid to be left behind. He is afraid to lose control. He is scared that his inner monster will be unleashed and hurt Bristol. Now it is upto her to prove him that he has a caring, protective and an extremely lovable heart. The time is yet to come and we have to wait eagerly for next book.

I've been curious about Will Leblanc since meeting him in The Collector Trilogy and he did not disappoint with his grumpy, broody self.

Will and his brothers, as we know went through hell growing up with their father. What we learn within the pages of Blackmail is how deep his demons run and how he handles that pain, unbeknownst to those in his life. Bristol's life has been chaos thanks to her con artist father and the predicaments he gets them into. As the newest temp for Mr. Leblanc she finds herself doing the unthinkable and yet the consequences of her actions only leave her thinking about the one person who could be her downfall..... Will.

These two were all kinds of chemistry and had me intrigued with their story. Of course, that ending has me yearning for the next book!!!

well i read this without realizing that it’s not a stand alone 🥴 it’s a weird book. I like how much of an asshole H was while also sometimes being sweet, but there were too many references of H suggesting he’d have h ~service~ other men and h finding the idea hot. It’s like the author is setting up for groupie sex in the latter books which I personally do not like in my romances.

h is technically a virgin but she’s given a BJ before.

probably won’t read the rest of the series.

Blackmail is the first book in a new trilogy by Amelia Wilde featuring Bristol Anderson and Will LeBlanc—Emerson LeBlanc's youngest brother from Dark Reign. What began as a simple attraction between two characters from vastly different circumstances has turned into a complicated and heartbreaking affair. Will is a contradiction because his refusal to accept kindness, understanding, and love has made them the things he covets the most. He is prone to anger and believes himself to be a monster who is undeserving of everything. What makes Will's story so fascinating is that we're given a much clearer picture of what happened to the LeBlanc siblings when they were younger. Will's guilt and pain over what happened has a direct correlation to Emerson's internal struggles and panic attacks.

"You deserve somebody better, sweetheart. I'm not that guy. I'm a monster. You don't want me. I promise."

Bristol is the type of heroine I love the most—she is kind, innocent, understanding, and determined. In order to save her family, she was willing to do whatever was necessary for them even at the cost of her own body and heart. I hated the fact that she still cared for pathetic excuse of a father when he manipulated and lied to her. Her decision to embezzle from Will would give him the excuse he needed to finally engage and claim her as his for a brief moment in time. I actually loved their relationship, as twisted as it may be. These two burned up the pages and their love scenes were incredibly hot and dirty. I love the fact that Will fell for Bristol first because he was completely obsessed and could not stop thinking about her. Amelia Wilde simply excels at amping up the sexual tension and chemistry between her characters.

"This debt is getting more expensive. I made a mistake that's going to cost me a very high price… my body, my dignity, and maybe even my heart."

In the end, I absolutely can't recommend this book enough because it had just the right amount of angst, dirty sex, and a heart-wrenching romance coming from an Amelia Wilde book. I am highly anticipating the sequel, Extortion. Although Will believes himself to be a monster, he is anything but that. There was so much more to him and I can't wait to learn more about this man with such a fragile and broken heart. It was heartbreaking to learn that Will expected people to walk away from him at such a young age. Why would they stay for him? Bristol's kindness and understanding for him has threatened his world and is destroying the person he thought he was. I highly recommend this book to those who loves reading about the tortured and prickly hero who blackmails his sweet and selfless heroine but ends up falling for her even though he doesn't believe he deserves her.

Blackmail is Will and Bristol’s story, as the former blackmails the latter into doing sinful things for the crime she committed.

Trigger Warning: Threats, Violence

Synopsis:
Will Leblanc is the owner of a private equity firm who’s in desperate need of a permanent secretary. But all he gets is another temp, albeit an excellent one, in the form of Bristol Anderson. After a day or two on the job, Bristol cons him, and Will has the perfect strategy for exacting his revenge, by blackmailing her into saucy submission.

Review:
Blackmail was off to a terrific start with the way its protagonists were introduced. This was my first read by Amelia Wilde and I can’t wait to read more of her works.

Bristol’s ten-year-old twin siblings, Ben and Mia, are dependent on her; what with a deceased mother and a father who always lands them in tricky situations. In desperate need of money when her younger siblings are threatened, she steals from her temporary boss to keep the dangerous men away.

There is not a thing that escapes Will’s calculative mind and instead of calling the authorities, Will decides to deal with Bristol in his own way. Thus starts their journey of acting upon their attraction to each other even as they deny the feelings that are slowly creeping in.

Will is hounded by childhood demons while Bristol has to deal with her tiring present. Alternately narrated by them both in the first person, Blackmail was an engaging read as I kept turning the pages to find out what happens next. There are knight-in-shining-armour moments, accompanied by hot sex and a filthy mouth.

The plot also involves the merger of Will’s company with a behemoth in the field, and his brothers are a constant presence, Emerson from Wilde’s The Collector’s trilogy and Sinclair who’s yet to get his own story. Both his brothers help put things in perspective for him, and he chooses a path for himself that may not be in his best interests.
The air around her smells like citrus and fear with an undercurrent of warm desire.

How can you not feel in love with such writing? I can’t express how delighted I am to have finally picked up her book. I loved this story so damn much. Bristol and Will are so good together. Alas, no good thing can last and the book ends on a cliffhanger, to be followed by Book Two, aptly titled Extortion.

Thank you to Candi Kane PR for an e-ARC of the book.

I found it a bit difficult to connect with the characters as they're not special; it's about one more LeBlanc brother who is also traumatized, not as obsessive as Em, thank God, but Will needs to get rid of his feelings by taking part in boxing matches where he gets beaten. Bristol is another very vulnerable heroine who finds herself in a chaotic financial situation with two younger siblings to look after since her father is useless. Really there's no shortage of such characters in the MD universe, so if it's not your first book about the Constantine/Morelli world, don't expect anything new.

I have such a soft spot for these delicious LeBlanc brothers. Amelia always gives us such delectable broken alpha heroes- dark men with a ruthless edge and a broken vulnerability. Blackmail delivers yet another broken alpha, a second LeBlanc brother drunk with power, detached from feeling, and dangerously cunning- until a sweet little temp unsettles his control. And it is so yummy.

Blackmail gives us the beginning of Will’s torrid love story- and it is oh so intriguing. Like his brother, Will is all kinds of obsessive and controlling. And like his brother (Emerson from the Collector trilogy), Will resorts to some manipulation to get what he wants from our heroine Bristol- using some sexual blackmail after he catchers her, his new temp, stealing quite a bit of money from his company. Money she needs to protect her siblings from the mistakes of her deadbeat father.

Ah, this is classic Amelia Wilde- loaded with so much tension, naughtiness, and romantic edge. A mercurial and broody hero paired with a naive, innocent, but delicately strong heroine. Like his brother, Will isn’t totally dark as a hero- his obsession with Bristol has some protective tenderness to it, a gentleness when it comes to her vulnerability. Only he’s more than willing to exploit it for his own aims with her. And Bristol, well, even though she’s at his mercy, she’s more than willing to play his filthy games. And oh, it’s so delicious.

Along the way, we get more into the psyche of both of these characters, and like his brother before him, Will has quite a bit of baggage from his past. He’s broken alpha with walls around his heart - and not even the gentle and loving heart of Bristol can quite yet break through them. But their chemistry is dynamic, and Bristol herself has some familial damage. Which means that connection is ripe for deeper exploration and more layered emotional relations between them. Of course, Amelia leaves us hanging in the cliffie- and I can’t wait for more.

“My heart’s gone out of rhythm. My brain, too. Because now I can’t see anything but her perfect lips. I can’t see anything but the pink flush of her cheeks. I can’t do anything but see her.”
🖤
Review: Blackmail by Amelia Wilde. Controlling Interest Book 1.
🖤
The LeBlanc brothers are back and they are more troubled, vicious and hot (as always!). It seems that the more the guy is “broken” the more I love…. Therapy here I go! 😂 Will LeBlanc just found out that his new delicious and sexy temporary secretary embezzled some money from his company and he is ready for her to pay. Except he doesn’t want the money back.

Bristol is cornered. Her dad is a con man and he always put himself above his family. This time he has a debt that if not payed in time, Bristol and her 10yo twin siblings will probably pay with their lives. So she does something she never thought she would do, it’s an impossible situation and she will protect her adorable siblings.

She is so over her head, the next day of her embezzlement she learns that Will is ready to play and make her pay. What started as a blackmail, one that she wasn’t reluctant to participate, exploded in heat, chemistry and dare I say emotional.

Both of them have a troubled past and although we learn some of hers, I feel that we didn’t even scratch the surface of Will’s. I know that Leblanc’s dad did a number on all of them, but it seems that Will is paying for all until today. He think is a monster, one that Bristol doesn’t deserve, but he can’t let go of her as well.

They both share little bits of themselves to each other. At times is emotional, full of banter and teasing. Others is cruel, violent and explosive. I totally adored Will’s protective and possessive side, but what won me over was his reaction to Bristol’s two siblings. There are plenty of Will and Bristol’s side to explore and I’m excited to see what’s next for them.

Love getting Will’s story after reading about him in Emerson’s book! And one thing is for sure, these boys’ parents sure did a number on them.

Will’s crush on his temp takes a dark turn when he catches her stealing from him. And she becomes his willing plaything. This story is scorching hot and Will has a filthy mouth and imagination.

Bristol is so used to being in control and managing everything for everyone in her life, that I think she relishes the lack of control she has when she’s with Will. You cannot help but sympathize with all life throws at her, and love when she finally has someone to rescue her. You just know that she’s going to rescue him right back by the end of their story.

This ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.

I requested an early reader copy of this book and these are my honest opinions.

This book was intense, hot and sinfully tantalizing. Whew, one thing I'll say is this book set right to making sure I was completely ensnared in its complex web of decadent drama, sizzling steam, fierce feelings, raw emotions, tempting twists and intoxicating tension. Bristol and Will make a captivating pair that latch onto your mind and heart and take them on an epic roller coaster ride that will leave you breathless, battle-scarred and feverishly aching for book two. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.

Amazing start. I absolutely adore this author and this book had me hooked from the first chapter. Fast paced and intriguing, the story will take you on an exciting journey of deceit, angst and secrets.
I adored Bristol. She is one of my favorite Wilde heroines. Will is dark and broody; my kind of hero.
I cannot wait for more!

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Note 2: This is a trilogy. Blackmail is the first book. Extortion is the second. Coercion is the third and final book for now, coming January 10th 2023.

Triggers: child abuse, abandonment, cons, death, mental health issues, poverty, sexual manipulation, noncon and dubious consent.

Well this book was just so damn on fire wasn’t it.

The writing - the characters - the plot line - everything was hell bent on being insane.

Specially the stories of these characters - poor meets rich, poor steals from rich, poor gets tossed into a sexual game of Russian roulette with said poor by the rich.

Somehow then enters Stockholm syndrome - debunked by the way - and she ends up wanting it all with the rich one. Despite him being manically insane.

And then come the heroine’s father’s problems. And she’s trying to solve them yada yada.

Things go for worse but our antihero rescues her. Hurray but then where does he go?

So I appreciate the plot and the action and the characters, the relationships shown, the stories of them, etc etc. Only thing I wished was the heroine to not be a complete doormat and the hero not falling to complete cliches of what it meant to be an antihero.

Other than that, the story was quite addictive, along with the writing, the characters, the chemistry, the relationships, the backstories, the insanity in general.

I loved it and I cannot wait for the next novel!

Until the next read,
TMR

I'm kind of two minds on this one. I love this kind of plot (good girl heroine Bristol is in desperate need steals from billionaire boss Will and when he finds out he blackmails her for s3x) and I like Ms. Wilde's writing style but this story is very fast-paced, TOO fast-paced for my typical tastes. I didn't like the insta-ness about pretty much everything, and would in general prefer much more tension. The fact that we get dual POV and both characters are so into each other makes the so-called blackmail almost obselete as a plot point. Additionally, the steamy scenes were, for the most part, very brief and some even fade to black, and that was disappointing in this kind of plot too.

Working in the book's favor during this read was the fact that I am reading a super long, and much more slow-paced book simultaneously, and I was desperate for some quick-paced froth, and this book fit the bill nicely. I also quite liked how on the nose/in our face Will's abandonment issues are, and the fairytale-esque bits of him helping her out/rescuing her at times. I also have loved the Leblanc brothers' relationships with each other since Emerson's trilogy (starts with Dark Reign and though you don't NEED to read it first, it elevated this book for me that I had) I have wanted to read more about his brothers, so I loved all of their scenes together.

So, a quick book one in this trilogy that came at the right time for my mood to give it the bump up, but a different time very well would have gotten a round down. Right now, I am looking forward to the rest of their story, as I do think these two people with awful pasts desperately deserve love and happiness.

Bristol has a lot going on in her life. She is working as a secretary for Will, who is rather demanding. She is trying to deal with her con artist of a father, and trying to give her twin siblings the best life she possibly can. Life is throwing punches at her and this causes her to do something she never thought she would do. Will is a complicated man. He doesn’t get close to people, he lives for fighting. He isn’t one to let someone get away with something but he likes to deal with things in his own way.

The chemistry between Will and Bristol was instant and continued to sizzle. It started out as blackmail, but evolved into something more and more emotional. However, there was still a wall between them. There is a lot of ups and downs. Sweet moments and cruel moments mixed in throughout this story.

This does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see where things go for Will and Bristol. I am sure the twists and turns of their story isn’t over and there is plenty more to come.

If you’re looking for a workplace, enemies to lovers, dark romance this is one to check out.

I loved the naughty factor of this story so much.
These two have a very unique dynamic and it was a lot of fun in a slightly dark and immoral way.
They are a sparking fire together! It’s definitely insta-lust at the beginning.
Both Bristol and Will are interesting characters.
Bristol is so likable because she’ll do anything for her two young siblings. They have a dad that doesn’t keep a job and constantly moves them around the country.
When dear old dad gets in way over his head financially with a very bad guy, Bristol steals from her new company (Will’s company) to save her young siblings from danger despite feeling it’s wrong and not wanting to.
Then, the kinky games begin when Will blackmail’s her instead of firing her and sex is the weapon he uses.
In real life it would be treacherous, in fiction I suspend judgment and enjoy the ride.
This was a super hot AND very emotional also.
Damaged characters are my favorite and Will most certainly is, Bristol is in her more subtle ways as well.
It has a bit of everything and it’s paced really well. Never a dull moment.
It’s the first in a trilogy, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these likable, kinky and intriguing characters.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

And Amelia does it again!

What a great start to this story. Blackmail is a fast paced page turner that’ll leave you breathless.

It figures that I would like Will since he is Emerson‘s brother, from The Collector Trilogy. Will is your typical grumpy, alpha-hole, who pretends to want absolutely nothing to do with Bristol other than working with her and blackmailing her. Bristol is unbelievably kind, selfless, and strong. She is struggling like no other, but will do absolutely anything for her two younger siblings. The chemistry between Bristol and Will is scorchingly hot. The back-and-forth between the two of them was so addictive and I can’t wait to see Will let go and really show his true feelings for Bristol. That is going to be so worth the wait. I cannot wait to see where things go in the next book. It seems like we have a really big uphill climb!

This is a great first in the series in the Controlling Interest series. This was such a spicy, sexy, smart quick read!

This is the start of Will's story. The LeBlanc brothers are so tormented and deadly attractive men with tragic back stories. I need to go back and read Emerson's story.

Bristol is in a bad place with her con man Dad and to fix things she has gotten into a tight spot with her new boss, Mr. LeBlanc. But instead of paying back in money, she will pay back in....🥵🔥

If only Will thought he deserved love and didn't think of himself as a monster, they might have a different story. But he wants her but doesn't think he deserves her. So much trauma in his past that has defined his inner narrative. Pp

Cant wait to find out what happens in Extortion.

Thank you valentine_pr_, dangerouspress and awilderomance for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

I received an arc for a honest review.

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but Amelia have some of the best BROKEN HEROES ever!!! Will and Bristol

We met Will LeBlanc in the The Collector's Trilogy, and we know what the LeBlanc brothers goes through. Will has his own demons and baggage that he doesn't tell his brothers. When he met Bristol, he knew he wanted her, but he has a policy of not to date employees. Bristol was a temp worker, who has baggage of her own. But what will happen when Bristol stole fifty thousand to pay her father's debt?

Oh man. They were totally fire together. The chemistry was off the charts.

I seriously need the second book already!!! These cliffhangers kills me every time, but I can't help but to read. Lol
