For tourists the Mardi Gras floats represent revelry and a bit of debauchery, but for the krewes who organize them every year they are serious business and the rivalries between krewes can be vicious and last generations. When NOLA Law retains a client accused of murdering his "krewemates," Marcel is assigned to investigate a straightforward murder, but he quickly realizes that in the complex world of the krewes, nothing is so simple. In order to free his client Marcel will have to untangle a web of danger, money, and sex, but doing so will make powerful enemies that could shake the foundations of the city itself.
I think the author spins a great story but I find myself wincing every time I see "alright" in a story' . I had an English teacher who taught a way to remember that all right is the correct expression. Before writing, think "all wrong." Many are guilty of this error.
I didn't find this book totally believable . For instance when he was caught listening in the warehouse I don't think they would have let him just leave on his own. Another example was when he caught up with the killer why would he just start talking to him.Not his best book.
Investigator 2 continues to grow the history of excellent crime thrillers put out by this author. This is the fourth Dave Daren legal thriller I have read and I have yet to be bored. My cudos to this author.
Not Dave Darens best works. Too many small talk and no actio. The book could have had a great legal case but everything was tie together and not very interesting. A book that had no problem putting down.
Another great story from Dave Daren! Marcel is a stickler for the truth and wants to make sure that justice is served. Never heard of this krewe thing but I guess every place has a thing.
