یک‌جا جمع‌کردن برگ‌های خشک به نظر کار راحتی است. آنتون هم همین فکر را می‌کند. اما انگار خیلی هم راحت نیست. به‌خصوص وقتی باد تندی بوزد. آن‌وقت نه آنتون، نه لوکاس، نه گرتا، و نه نینا هیچ‌کدامشان نمی‌توانند برگ سر به هوا را بگیرند.
به نظر شما بالاخره کی موفق می‌شود برگ را بگیرد؟ شاید همه؟ یا شاید هیچ‌کس!

تا حالا دوتا از آنتون‌های به فارسی ترجمه شده رو پیدا کردم. می‌شه اگر نسخۀ فیزیکی یا الکترونیکی ترجمۀ انگلیسی یا ترکی استانبولی‌ش رو دیدین بهم خبر بدین؟ :)) زبان اصلی خودش آلمانیه که من بلد نیستم. :(

This book is only about two boys one-upping each other on anything and everything and it is hilarious. Simple and very funny.

Anton and his friend Luke fight an epic battle to be declared the strongest of the pair. They each use their imagination to ‘out-strong’ the other, until they are beaten by an unlikely visitor!

I like this book because it emphasizes the power of a child’s imagination and creativity. Children don’t need fancy devices or electronics in order to have a great time. Imagination is the first and most important toy that children of all ages will ever have. I recommend this book for one-to-one (or two) reading with children ages 2-5.

I have loved Anton from his first American debut (as Anthony and the Girls) and we own Anton Can Do Magic. Here Anton and Luke engage in that wonderful preschool activity of "anything you can do I can do louder/faster/stronger/better". This is almost the exact story of my son and one of his best playmates. Lots of conflict and a nice resolution between two boys who are best friends.

Fans of Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson will enjoy Anton and the Battle! Fun and wildly imaginative, it's about two boys who try to see which of them is stronger. The ending is great proving boys will be boys.

I did not care for this book and neither did my daughter. I especially did not like the part where the boys are threatening to blow each other up with imaginary bombs and the illustration of severed dragon heads was just a little too gruesome for a children's book, in my opinion.

A quirky book about competition between Anton and his friend Luke, who constantly try to out do each other. My autistic son liked the' weapons' that were being used. The concept was a bit difficult for him, but it kept him intrigued.

This book is cute and clever, falling halfway in between Harold and the Purple Crayon and Calvin & Hobbes. That is both its strength and its weakness, unfortunately.
There is a difficulty in conveying "kid logic" in print, and this book runs into that difficulty. While it correctly conveys the wonders of imagination and the boundaries of bravery, the story just trickles off because, when you're a little kid, sometimes you just get distracted. Also, the "cow vs. cello" fight on the front cover never occurs during the story. The other battles are more normal, and somehow fail to achieve the full potential of the story's zaniness.
So, this is a good picture book that could have been even better.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this one. I liked the way the imagination and "drawings" show how each boy is trying to one-up each other. I like that such a little dog scared both boys who were trying to show off how strong and big and bold they were. But...I'm just not sure I like a book that is the "I can do it better than you" concept. But, I think that is more of a taste preference of mine. The actual book is well done.

Two boys argue over who is stronger, faster, louder etc, but find they are both terrified of the exact same thing: a dog.

Illustrations are relatively simple and each boy is represented by a color: Red for Anton and blue for Luke. When the boys boast about what they can do the image appears as a sketch with simple details. As they boys dream bigger and bigger their abilities become more and more cartoony to great effect.

Overall, a fun read aloud featuring two very creative boys.

I was a huge fan of Anton Can Do Magic. I love the imagination in this one, and the resolution (sort of!) with the dog. I love the style of the artwork, the limited palette, the strong outlines and think it would work well in a storytime. The part I'm unsure about is the "I'll drop a bomb THIS BIG on your head" vs. a bigger bomb. As the mom of boys, I know they say things like this. So maybe I'm being oversensitive. But there it is.

For generations, little boys have been flexing their muscles with phrases such as "My dad is stronger than your dad" or "My dog is better than your dog." The author depicts a cute verbal battle of words, drawings, and "one upmanship" between two young boys. Not sure our kids need the "I'll drop a bomb on you" reference in their heads though.

I really enjoyed the wonder and imagination of Anton Can Do Magic, but for various reasons, this entry just fell flat for me...

It's too bad, as I love the author's illustrations and the character of Anton. This particular story meandered a bit too long before the story's climax (the boys meet the big bad dog), but then it just petered out.

I like the art, and the general idea is cute. Maybe I'd like this more if I had older kids, but for the preschool set it's definitely not a great book. My daughter wasn't really old enough to catch on to the humor, so all she got out of it was kids modelling violent and overly competitive behavior.

Two small boys engage in metaphoric chest thumping: I'm stronger, no I'm stronger." When a small dog approaches they both flee to a tree where the start competing on hunger and thirst. When the dog wanders off they head home-competing about who is faster. Perhaps very subtle...but I was underwhelmed and felt this was another story in translation that didn't make the leap.

While the illustrations are clever and the boys, Anton and Luke, are cute, I have real problems with a book that encourages children to "blow you away", "flatten you", and drop bombs on each other - even if they are imaginary.

Fun. Two kids battle with their imaginations. The things they imagine lifting or using are drawn in. Then both kids are scared of a little dog, but they are still trying to top each other.
