Family

Shari has written a wonderful account of her adventures into DNA results. After reading her adventures I am so happy for her. I to have done DNA tests, and so have my living siblings our tests prove them 100% siblings to each other and me the eldest (not youngest) like Shari as only 50%. What started my adventure into genealogy was my desire to be in the DAR. Well, my sisters all 6 of them and my brother are eligible but not me. That’s ok, I have met some wonderful cousins that I didn’t know growing up, so coming from a large family it’s only grown much larger. I hope Shari will get to meet her aunt soon.

DNA solves another family mystery

When a DNA test reveals that her sister is only her half sister, the author takes off on a hunt to find out which of her two deceased parents was not her real parent. In this quick book she tells all the steps she took, finally locating cousins, and eventually a half brother. Though he lived in another state, the two eventually back track on their earlier lives finding events that brought their parents together. Author writes in first person of the steps in her research and the results which led to her finding who her real father was.

happy ending

Good story. I have been involved in genealogy since my early 20’s, now 83. I don’t have any interesting breakthroughs, but the solving of all the questions is very satisfying. My father deserted my mother , leaving two infants. They had been married just long enough to have two children.after that, he was married several times, but no children. I find that somewhat unusual and have been expecting siblings to show up with the dna that we have now.

Genealogy

I have been a genealogist since 1999. This book was so mindful. In this world of uncertainties, it's refreshing to see the possibilities of life and interaction. Great information and insight

Sometimes DNA takes you down an unexpected path, but it doesn't change those who love us!
