It’s tough being a witch. My sworn enemy, an outlaw vampire, just sent a killer pixie to my hometown.
I’ve been lucking out lately—great boyfriend, magical friends, and a peaceful career in a dusty, rural western town that I’m absolutely in love with. But good luck can’t last forever, can it? Now I have a flying assassin on my tail, a vampire bodyguard who shoots first and thinks later, and a lunch date with my boyfriend’s mother.
She’s never met me, and yet she can’t stand me. I want to win her over, but how am I supposed to do that while I’m trying to survive this craziness?
When a dead body turns up matters get complicated, and not in the cute dating-status kind of way. If I don't find out whodunnit, and quick, I might end up behind bars.
This is a paranormal cozy mystery with no graphic violence, bedroom activities, or swearing. Just quirky characters, puzzling clues, and a bat named Diva who likes to wear glitter and lipstick.
The book starts with Diva (Lexi’s pet bat, her familiar, who is a true Diva!) being her usual glittery self - she’s a staaar! - and that immediately had me in stitches! A very entertaining book! So good I just wanted to read read read read read! And then the ending, man oh man, oh my good witch!!! And it has a fairy! A real fairy! No, I stand corrected, a PIXIE. That was so cool! But that pixie is not the cute, mischievous, innocent little prankster that you might think…
I think it would work best if you don’t read this as a standalone, start at book 1. But it’s 100% worth it, IMO! But I am sad that this was the final book in this series. I know I’ll love whatever Ms. Anderson will write next, I do, but I’ll miss Diva! I’ll also miss Lexi, but I’ll miss Diva and her glitter and glamor the most.
Quote 1: “Same old, same old is my guess.” Lexi says this, but it couldn’t be further from the truth!
Quote 2, made me LOL and shows Diva’s character: “Good night, Diva,” I said. “Let’s hope that tomorrow’s better than today, hm? A little less drama would be good.” “What’s wrong with drama?” Diva asked.

Lexi knew things were too good (cute boyfriend, great friends, a wonderful town to live in) so she wasn't surprised when things start going down hill.
An enemy vampire sends a murderous pixie after her and her boyfriend's mother is coming to town just to meet Lexi and see if she is good enough for her son. Lexi can only hide out for so long. Her familiar is a bat named Diva who is a diva is not a lot of help either. Add to that a dead body and what's a girl to do?
Read this book to find out why the series is quickly becoming addictive to paranormal cozy mystery lovers like me. But, make sure to read the previous books first so you get the complete back story. You will love them, too.
I know as I pick this novel up that it is the last and final novel in the trilogy. This has been such a great ride and I hate to say goodbye. Lexi, our darling witch and he glitter loving bat have finally created a home for themselves, She has a business, a home and a boyfriend. Life is pretty sweet until Lexi is accused of murder and she has to find the killer before they tag her for jail. A clean, fun loving book that brings a smile to your face and leaves your heart warm when you finish. I received the novel from BookFunnel. This is my true and honest review.
Lexi has a bat familiar who enjoys having her nails painted pink, wears Barbie Doll Jewelry and tries to wear Barbie Doll shoes.. Super cute. Lexi's future mother in law is doing everything she can to break up the relationship between Lexi and her son. She is a very controlling, demanding and possessive mother who thinks no one is good enough for her son. On top of dealing with this stress she also has the local sheriff who is constantly keeping an eye on her and a murder to solve before the sheriff locks her up for a crime she didnt commit. Really enjoyed this cozy mystery.
There are three books and although I'm supposed to assess them individually they go together so I'm assessing them together. I love the bat Diva, she's certainly got the right name. This was a love story, murder story, and filled with intrigue but mostly fun. I loved every minute of it. Annette you have done your readers proud and as we say in Northern England, job's a good un.
A lot of new adventures! Great read. Afraid to say too much that I give it away. But a really smooth, adventurous reading with a lot of personal growth for the characters.
This book was quite entertaining and a great escape. There were witches, vampires, werebears and a pixie. There was a murder and the evil vampire was up to shenanigans again.
This is a great series of three books. Couldn't put it down, read all back to back in two days. Wouldn't mind a spin off of what happens next.. Good read.
I have loved this series and it’s sad to think this will be the end of the adventures of Lexi, Diva and Clara for a while.
Lexi’s peace is interrupted by the appearance of two vampires who bring news that an assassin pixie is loose and heading Lexi’s way to kill her on behalf of the imprisoned former crown prince Jasper! However, to add to the fun, Myles’s mother is in town and is determined to break them up! Now Lexi is found wondering just what could possible happen next? Well the head vampire is “staked” and the bumbling sheriff thinks Lexi did it as well as being the ring leader of a drug cartel selling dope to teenagers!
With Clara and her mother’s insistence, Lexi focuses on her magical abilities as a witch and returns to her witching school to find out how to beak the hypnotic spell that this pixie is under wherein she has to do everything the voice commands her to do. Can Lexi save the day once more or will she succumb to that poisoned pixie dust!
These three stories are great reading adventures for everyone who loves paranormal adventures as two former best friends team up to stop rogue vampires and also try and repair a friendship that has been absent through misunderstandings. I recommend this book and this series as one I think you’ll love! It’s so easy to see and identify with Lexi! I think her insecurities are found in most of us but with her best friend back the two of them can take on the rogue vampires and other paranormals who are out to do harm to our heroine and her friends!
Amorette writes stories with love, charm, and feelings expressed in such a way most of us can relate to! I for one would love to call Lexi and Clara my friends and I think when you finish these books you will as well!
It’s so refreshing to read books about your friends and these characters have come alive to me and become just that! I will miss my “fix” on what is transpiring in Desperation Valley with my favorite friends and hope there will be a “reunion” of sorts that we readers can revisit them and see what they’ve been up to since we last saw them!
I really hope you’ll pick up these three books and get to know Lexi like I have! I think you’ll be so glad you did!!
Get Ready for Some Cringe, Gasp, Fear, Love and More Reading.
HEART OF PIXIE by Amorette Anderson is a witchy cozy mystery and the third installment in her A Cupid’s Curse Mystery series. Ms. Anderson has knack for creating strange little towns with quirky characters and fun murder mysteries. Get ready for some fun. I think this is one of Ms. Anderson's best series yet.
Lexi is enjoying her life. Great family, friends and boyfriend. That is until ... ▪️Myles' opinionated mother visits and he's left Lexi to meet her for the first time, alone. ▪️There is a murderous pixie on the way to assassinate Lexi with deathly pixie dust. ▪️Myles' home is up for sale. Why? She loves Myles, but doesn't want to leave her home, friends and Desperation Valley.
BTW this can't be the end to this story. After all Lexi seems to attract paranormal trouble. Read all three stories starting withDesperate House Witches and you will know what I mean.
I did receive an advance readers copy from the author and the above is my freely given and honest review.
Lexi is doing good with her boyfriend and her business, when she has to meet her boyfriend's mother, who happens to be in industry. Diva, her bat, is in seventh heaven. But just as this meeting is going to occur, she receives word that an assassin is after her, and not only that, but her boyfriend's mother is spying on her. Boy does she have her hands full, and on top of that Diva, the BAt is not happy with her. Ms. Anderson, again, in my opinion, has outdone herself. But if you think I am going to let you know how the book ends or what else happens, then you have figured me wrong. I suggest, or more likely, I recommend, that you all get the book and find out how the book ends, it is worth it. My favorite characters are Lexi and Diva, The Bat. The characters are consistent, and the plot is easy to follow. Thank you.
I absolutely loved this entire series and as much as I loved this book, I am sorry because it is the last one. Lexi and her movie star boyfriend (Myles) are getting along really well, but his mother is coming for a visit and she has decided she hates Lexi, even though she has never met her. To make matters worse, there has been an escape from the vampire jail, where the vampire prince that Lexi helped to put away was incarcerated. It wasn't the prince that escaped, but is was his cell-mate. She was a pixie who was known to assassinate people for the prince. The word was that she was being sent to kill Lexi. A dead body was found and the sheriff immediately suspects Lexi. Has she not got enough on her plate?
Heart of Pixie is even more exciting than the two previous books in this series. Although I am sad to see that this is the final book in Lexi's adventures, it wraps things up so very nicely. (no spoilers here) Lexi's problems with Jasper, the treacherous son of the Vampire King, continue even though he is in prison. The two vampires who are sent to involve her in fighting Jasper's evil plans are less than inspiring, and Lexi sees that she will have to deal with this situation on her own, all while avoiding the attack of a murderous pixie. The twists and turns take place at a fast pace making this book a real page turner. It is a great read, but I do recommend reading reading books one and two first.
This is the final story in the Cupid's Curse Mystery Series. Amorette Anderson has done a wonderful job with this series. I do hate to see it end. Where else would you have a delightful witch, her bat familiar that loves show biz, glitter, singing, lipstick and heels, a movie star boyfriend and her best friend? I have enjoyed Lexi, her bat familiar, Diva, her best friend, Clara, Clara's mother, Amarynth, Myles, her boyfriend and hate to see them go. In this story, Lexi is being pursued by Pansy Pixie, a political assasin who has escaped from prison where she was being held with Jasper, the vampire prince. There are several twists and turns and I certainly didn't see the end coming. Amorette, keep up the good work. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Adorable ending to perfect cozy series. The action is hot as ever as the series reaches a satisfying conclusion. Great writing, great world building, great characters, you can’t ask for more.
Things have been going really well for Lexi and Clara. They love their home and community. And with ex-prince Jasper in prison it has even been safe.
Until Jasper’s favorite assassin escapes. Even from prison Jasper has been making plans and first on his list is revenge against Lexi.
Of all days for this threat to come, today is the day Lexi is supposed to meet Myles’s mother for the first time!
Find out how the lovely Lexi thwarts an assassin and wins over an opinionated mother.
"Witches are more powerful together, as you know. Three is a nice number, for a coven."
But can anyone or anything stop a pixie out to get Lexie? And then there's the problem with Myles' mother who's out to get Myles away from the town and Lexi and get Myles back to the real world in California.
In the meantime a dead body is found and she might be considered a suspect by the local cops. And the 2 guys hanging around to guard her are as dangerous as the vampire Lexie helped put into jail a while ago. All of which makes you wonder if there is a gentle life in Desperation Valley? Highly recommended 5/5
[Disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntary read and reviewed it]
I absolutely love all of works of Amorette Anderson. She writes her cozy mysteries with a slice of magic! She is a wonderful writer with an unusual gift. She is able to spin a tale and hook her reader right in from the first page and you will never be able to set it down until the last. I first became aware of Amorette's writing when I bought an entire series, oh my! I just could not set an entire book down without stating the next. I wish that for you as well as you begin your journey with Cupid's Curse!
I loved, loved this book. I love Lexi's familiar, Diva (the glamorous bat). I loved the way this book ended. But, I am so unhappy that this is the final book in the series. I am really going to miss Diva. If you haven't read this series, you don't know what you're missing. I highly recommend that you start with book one, find a comfortable spot, have your favorite beverage and snacks available because your going to want to binge read through the entire series, they are that good.
I volunteered a honest review in exchange for an ARC copy of this book.
Lexi has to meet Myles’ mom. Just when she’s discovered a pixie assassin is hired by ex Prince Jasper to kill her. Turns out Gloria, Myles’ mom is a snobby, nosey nasty persons who bad mouths Lexi without even meeting her! Diva is dying to meet the Broadway star! Lexi tries everything she can to avoid the assassin pixie with the cursed deadly dust. I loved this book and series and am sad this is the last book in the series! I will definitely miss diva! I loved the wonderful HEA! I recommend this book and series!
Read books in order. You don't want to miss a thing; this is full of Vampire and their conspiracies, friends, frenemies, allies and enemies. Great adventure twisted plots, twisted fake clues, unraveling, of real from false, I did think that there was a double agent or a mole. Was a little surprised About the “soon to be Mother/ monster in law” too bad they couldn’t just keep her nicer side! Glad the killer was made back into her sweeter side. Hope she get the counseling to help her adjust from her trauma. Nice that Lexi was getting married in spite of her new MIL.
Once again Ms. Anderson has created a plot and characters that are captivating and fun. Lexi and Diva are so easy to fall in love with and the mystery and plot holds you all the way to the end. While this book could be read as a stand alone I highly recommend the previous two books in order to understand how they got where they are. As an ARC reader I get the privilege of reading it first, but my opinions and ratings are my own.
I AM GOING TO MISS THAT SINGING, DANCING BAT. Fantastic clean witchy mystery series that is both amusing and entertaining. I really love this author Amorette's stories to the point I think I own all her eBook's. Another thing I like is that her wholesome books are full of adventure and good clean story and not padded out with sex scenes like so many authors, Keep up the good work Amorette! RECOMMENDED. For best experience start at book one "Desperate house witches" then "Grimoire Girls"
A store, great friends and a handsome boyfriend, loved by not only Lexi but her familiar Diva. Nothing is calm or boring in her part of the world. A murder, one instance of kids and drugs, which Lexi is blamed for. Enough Drama yet? Nope! Boyfriend Myles has his famous actress mother coming to visit. This makes the tornado in Lexis' life explode! Sit back, have your tea and cakes near by and enjoy a totally magical action packed journey.
Lexi has finally committed to meeting up with Myles’ mother when she learns a pixie assassin has escaped and she is her target. I loved this series, each book was better than the previous one. I adored meeting Diva (Lexi’s dramatic and glitter loving bat familiar). Book is best enjoyed if the first 2 books in the series have been read. I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Heart of Pixie: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery (Cupid's Curse Mysteries Book 3)
Myles mother, Gloria, is a Broadway star. Lexy has to plan a meeting with Gloria and Diva is so star struck wanting to meet her. Lexy also found out that prince Jasper hired a pixie to kill them and she now has to fight the pixie and save their lifes! I will miss this fun serie and recomend this serie of 3 books if you are a Paranormal Cozy Mystery lover. You wont regret it.
