The hunt is mine.
But now I'm hunting the man I love.

With every step I take, I follow a path that threatens to shatter my hope and bring me crashing down.

But not even the darkest secrets can extinguish the flame that Callan Steele ignited within my heart.

To save him, I must seek the devastating power that will free all dragons.

Even if it destroys me.

Some angels fall, but I won’t surrender my heart.

Good ending for this series.

Found this to be unique. Backstories were interesting and complimented the storyline perfectly. I struggled with Atrox. Do not want to give away anything ... I will just say he is an ass 😂 Lana and Callan were a great match. Callan began to dwindle a bit for me in book 3.

In short, great series. Book 3 was a good read. Frost ended the series with perfect timing.

Happy reading,

Wow!
Trying to explain how amazing the ending to this series, I will probably fall short, but I’ll try.
The journey Lana and Callum have gone on to this point was already an epic tale, but Everly brings it to another level in book 3.

First of all the world building in the veil was fantastic. I absolutely want to go there and see it for myself. I loved how she used the veil to give Lana a chance to find peace and hope. I would love another book just to see Lana go back there again.

The histories and the drama of the dragons, their dynamics and the layers and layers of lies Lana has to dig through are a story in itself. I absolutely loved getting all the back stories and getting to uncover the truth of what is at stake with Lana. If you love when authors do that, book three is a smorgasbord!

The fight back to Callum was beautiful. I loved how everything written in the first two books is built upon in book three. We get a multi layered love story that changes their world and them forever.

The way Lana embraces who she is and then chooses to live it was my favorite part. I loved seeing her protectiveness towards both Angels and Dragons as she fights to save as many as she can. Getting to the HEA was well earned for everyone.

The only thing I wanted to see was more of the shadow beasts so I was pretty excited to see the blurb after the book!

Now I’m looking forward to what is next!

If you love slow burn PNR with angels, dragons, shifters and humans fighting for a chance to live in peace when so many are bent on iniallating each other, you’ll want to grab the whole series and clear your weekend.

Night Sky ♡

This was a good wrap up to the story I enjoyed this series. I always love dragon shifter stories because there are so few good ones around.

After Callans fire dragon takes over him Asper finds herself captive within the veil to Atrox and his brother Dominic both hell bent on finding and releasing the dragons light so they can once again take their true forms and not be bound by the bodies that contain them. But Asper is determined to get Callan back despite how many times Atrox tells her he's gone. She'll first need to break free of the jail they've put her in but when she returns she finds a very different world. Dragons fight dragons and angels have turned on their brethren. After she and Callan disappeared everyone all but thought them dead and war began.
She knows it's only a matter of time before Atrox comes after her so she has to race against the clock. Find the book of light, locate the dragons light and free Callan.
Easy right? In theory it's simple but getting Callan back will take sacrifice, he always said she did things without fear of her own life and now she'll have to prove just how far she'll go to prove that.

Definitely Recommend Reading 📚

I have enjoyed this series. I think the first book was the best but I've enjoyed book 2 and this one, also. Book 2 seemed to go in a direction I didn't see coming but I kept reading because I wanted Not-Lana and Callan to get their HEA.

I haven't read many books with dragons in them but I did enjoy this one unlike some of the others so it should definitely be given a read.

This book kinda pissed me off. It felt like it was 1 book stretched out into three. It felt thin with the sub char. Which isn't really urban fantasy more paranormal romance. Which is fine whatever. One of the few subplots doesn't get wrapped up with a side char, which pisses me off.

love the first-person POV for fighting though. I liked the fact I wasn't jumping around and knowing everything. But with the thin subplots, it didn't take advantage of it well. Because there were so few subplots in the series surprise were easy to spot.

overall the vibe felt very twilight, and the sex scenes were meh (dry) for paranormal romance, But always really great fight visuals. Extremely good. You can never beat a shit load of pile-on angles in a stand-up fight with one person from like the first and second books. The lady does these fight visuals spicy (needs more blood though)

I wouldn't reread but I'm willing to throw 3 1/2 -4 stars. (not willing at this time to make the author a regular read) Simple for the fact it feels like she doesn't respect her subplots too many near cliffhangers/real cliffhangers. It felt like 1 book that I paid for 3 times.

What a great ending to the trilogy. Wow. The dynamics between Asper, Viviana, Dominus and Callan's dragon (Audax?). I thought Asper and Audax might fall in love with Vivian and Callan being temporarily out of the picture. But Audax being nice to Asper just how Callan was to give Asper hope that Callan was still around and then to crush it... Ugh. He's the cruel one. But then he can't lose his hope in seeing Viviana through Asper. So thankful that Callan was able to break through and communicate with Asper for some moments and of course reunite with Asper at the end with the old dragon soul being out of the picture. The strength of his character is revealed more fully, especially when we understand Audax more.

I'm also thankful that Isaac didn't die and became friends with Asper and could fulfill his angel role alongside her vs against her. I liked how the three dragon clans are intertwined at the end. How BA Asper is with slaying that terrible angel (I'm forgetting the official title) and Dominus. Thought it was neat that Asper's mom actually stayed alive. Was not expecting that as books like to kill off parents of main characters, but her mom is no ordinary angel.

I started lowering my expectations for happy endings but this one hit all my boxes without being unrealistic. Asper did get seriously hurt a lot (her injuries did slow her down, she didn't heal immediately) and almost died several times(especially in that panther cage). Even when her outer body healed through Viviana she was still weak from starvation, dehydration, lack of mobility and was vulnerable. She didn't bounce back instantly. She struggled emotionally with Audax and losing Callan. Super understandable. Not all the good guys survived. Not all the bad guys turned good or saw reason. Betrayals occurred. Callan was viciously incapacitated. There was balance. So I was overall satisfied with this trilogy's conclusion.

Side note: I kept half-expecting Asper to get pregnant with all the unprotected sex. I knew the storyline wouldn't want that for Asper but it would have been an interesting plot twist. Also I almost wrote down Casper and realized that could be Callon and Asper's couple name. 😅 I could see Asper changing her name though. Anyways that's all for now.

Unique Twists, a Gritty Story, and Believable Character Development Makes for a New Favorite

Slay the Dawn delivers all the feelings in a powerful finale as main character, Lana, continues her evolution. Heartbroken, she must fight emotions, enemies, and her own impulses in a battle to understand and fulfill her purpose. Author, Everly Frost continues to uniquely twist all that readers think they know, while enriching the world and building toward such a satisfactory conclusion.

Callan lovers be warned. For most of this book, he is not present. The way he fulfills his role in Lana’s life changes. And I love it! Where in the previous books he served in equal parts as challenger and supporter. Now he has become a wound, a responsibility, a memory, and a hope. While overall still a catalyst for Lana, she now must embrace the changes she has made on her own. It's her path to walk, alone for now, but no longer isolated. I really think that makes her a stronger, more relatable character. And I appreciate that the Callan-Lana relationship is a huge part of the story, but not in a way that eclipses or undermines Lana’s journey.

Let’s break it down:

⚜️Length: Novel

😇Genre: Urban/paranormal fantasy romance

⚜️POV: First person, female main character

😇Age: Adult (main characters in their 20s)

⚜️Warnings: Language, spice, and violence

😇Spice: Desperate, heartbreaking heat - intimacy on page

⚜️Violence: Mostly action-focused, but there are also elements of torture/abuse

😇Editing: The book read smoothly. I was so engrossed that I did not spot any issues

⚜️World: Earth with supernatural beings; same universe as many of the author’s other series – watch for the Easter eggs

😇Series: Supernatural Legacy – Book 3

⚜️Tropes: Chosen one, lost family, star-crossed lover, missing treasure, revenge

😇Ending: Last book of the trilogy, no cliffhangers, just a hard-fought and satisfying ending

⚜️Recommendation: Read it! This has become one of my favorite series

Overall Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ / 5 Spice Level: 🌶🌶 / 5

My first thought after finishing this series was — meh it was alight. On the surface, it has everything I personally love: a concise 3 book story arc, an interesting take on classical mythical creatures (dragons, angels, etc.), and characters with depth. But it was missing something. Let’s put it this way, I started this series when the first two books were out, but had to wait for the 3rd release. Yeah, I waited for the release, but I wasn’t stalking author updates or obsessively circling my calendar as I do for other series.

The series follows an angel, Asper, who is essentially the hunting dog for the angels sent to eradicate dragons. Unbeknownst to her, she has a more complicated heritage that throws off her plans when she encounters Callan, the leader of a clan of powerful dragon shifters. Asper, the female protagonist reminds me of Wednesday Addams if Wednesday had wings and no family support. She is delightfully dark, irreverent, and vulnerable all at the same time. Callan, her romantic interest, fits her perfectly but falls a bit flat with his own backstory. He’s the type of character that only seems to strengthen someone else’s story arc but leaves his own wanting. The fantasy world they live in is set against a modern backdrop that is interesting but feels more disjointed because of the usual combination of the two fantasy creatures (angels and dragon shifters) that aren’t usually found in the same fantasy world. I like the creative combination of mythical creatures but felt like the origin story of the two had holes (i.e are there other shifters? Who runs the angels?).

As a whole, I think this is a trilogy that some will absolutely love and some might find just ok. It all comes down to small particulars in romance novels that are entirely dependent on readers’ tastes. If you’re an avid reader of romance then you know what I’m talking about.

Loved this one!

I think this series has honestly gotten better with every book. Lana's relationship with Callan developed so much in Chase the Shadows that when his dragon takes over at the end of the last book (what a CLIFFHANGER) you feel devastated along with her when the story begins.

The beginning of the book is rough - Callan's dragon is firmly in control, and him and his brother are awful. They try to break Lana, and that part of the story was difficult to read. Once she escapes from them and is able to meet up with her allies, the darkness lifts a bit, and she is able to (with the help of the VANEM DRAGON aka my fave character) figure out a plan to save all the people she loves.

Lana has developed so much as a character, and that continues with this last book. She is smart, tough and brave, and has learned from mistakes she's made in prior books. She works with allies (new and old) in order to bring back not only Callan, but to help all of her dragon-shifter friends. The thing I think I loved the most about this story is that Callan taught Lana how to hope, and even in her darkest moments, she strives to make things right.

Highly recommend!

FYI - I did receive an ARC of this book but it did not influence my review.

Edge of your seat action and heartbreak ahead! This stunning series conclusion doesn't hold back any punches. I'm all weepy and emotional because this trilogy has been absolutely unputdownable with its angsty drama and pulse pounding passion. What happens when rage collides with peace? An unforgettable beautifully moving tale is created. Everly Frost shines amongst her peers like a glittering jewel.

Not Lana was so tragically broken with zero cares about her own safety. With dual sides of her battling to break free she's the ultimate heroine to hold close to your heart.

Callan is simply superb! He's the distraction that can't be ignored and would could blame Asper?! He's the quintessential good guy who will burn the world to protect those he loves. He's a marshmallow with a delightfully delicious gooey center and a heart that's loyal and true.

Watching all the pieces coalesce was brutal and brilliant. I'm certainly going to be thinking about this beautiful series for quite some time to come.

This series is sooo good! And this conclusion is everything I needed! The angels and dragons are at war with each other and amongst themselves. Lana wants to save everyone but that might be asking too much. The stakes are high and time is running out. After the end of book 2 I wasn’t sure how the story would be wrapped up in one more book, but all the loose ends have come together for Lana and Callan. I love the romance between them so much and all they go through for each other. The story is fast paced and believe me, you won’t want to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen!! I love the worldbuilding of this series and all the history of the dragons. It’s a pretty unique take on dragons which I loved. And I really like all the characters, especially Lana and Callan, but all the side characters as well because they really bring life to the story! If you love urban fantasy romance, definitely give this series a read!

I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The book or series was excellently written. I loved the storyline; individual characters, why the war started and details of everything that needed answers. Nothing was left unclear.

It was captivating the journey to retrieve the orb and why Asper was in prisoned. I would have loved more on the Celestial Ascendant. What happened to her, why did she changed and how did she hid her evil nature from the other angels.

The choice to lose the love she never knew was possible and a family she never knew she could have was easy for Lana to make but heartbreaking to read.

I loved that Atrox fierce love for Viviana led him to determine that the light will kill Aper and allow Viviana to take control of her, that they may be together. This worked out well but not how he thought.

I would have loved for Asper and everyone meaning the dragons that helped at the cathedral along with the humans to live in her world. Guarding the evil and living happily figuring out what's next and protect the human world from supernatural.

I’m crying…

Ok so maybe I’m crying happy tears… goodness, this series has been emotional. Lemme start with Lana. I seriously thought this was the end. I thought so many depressing thoughts. I’m so happy to be wrong. I am astounded at how beautiful this book is. Don’t get me wrong, it’s horrible at times. I had so many gut clenching, heart breaking moments. But this one- this ending- it’s absolute perfection.

This author has a way with words that aren’t really describable. I felt like I was part of every moment. I felt the heart break and the hope and the emotion put into this whole series. If you haven’t read a book by this author yet, I think you should. Also- don’t ever think you’re gunna guess exactly what will happen. I may have guessed a few little things but was mind blown when things really happened. I LOVE THAT!!!!! I cannot say it enough times- this series is worth all the sleep lost and time spent!!

fun run

This series surprised me. I thoroughly enjoy it! Each book keeps you on your toes wanting to learn more about our characters. The main female character I really liked. She’s tough and independent but learns to trust and rely on others. I almost wish there was more because the story had so much it could of been put into another book I think but that could just be because I don’t want to say goodbye to main two characters and their romance. There are steamy non fade to black scenes fair warning for those who don’t necessarily like it but I think they fit well into the story and didn’t cause the storyline to be overshadowed. It was definitely a fun run reading this series and now I plan to check out the rest of the author’s books :) oh and there is some action scenes as well!

What an emotional rollercoaster of despair with growing glimpses of despair as the story progresses. This series is a bit dark and steamy (yes even this one after what happened last book!) yet if you keep the faith in Frost, she’ll eventually guide you to a happily ever after. This is one story that I saw NO way back from the plot she had developed and it was a struggle for me to keep going for a bit, knowing the darkness she had in store for Not-Lana. I kept going though. I trusted Frost’s storytelling and was absolutely satisfied with the ending.

The twists were unexpected yet welcome, and the complexity of this world kept you spellbound. I’m satisfied and am not entirely sure what else is unresolved enough to warrant another book though. This was tied up pretty well and left enough to the imagination that I think the series could end here, but we’ll see what she has for us next!

This book feels like an ending. Except there’s another book. Big things happen, more epic fight scenes, and the goals they set out to accomplish have been accomplished. I have to assume book four is the aftermath, which should prove quite interesting.
I loved how everything tied back into the ending, all those little details from book one were apparently put in with purpose because it pays out here. There are a lot of subplots going on. At this point though I did feel like the characters had too many names. I think our MC got up to seven, which is a tad excessive.
Lana/whatever we’re calling her now spends a large portion of the book alone, which really helped the highlight her character growth and forged connections to others. She’s definitely changed since that first time we met her in her cell.

Another absolutely incredible series by Everly. Goodness, what a painful, beautiful and epic conclusion to this completely unique story. I’m a bit speechless because this book was just everything I hoped it would be, and more!

The interconnections, both small and large mentions, between the majority of Everly’s books leaves me jumping up and down in excitement as they as just so well done! I will never get enough of her writing.

Callan and Lana’s romance has been one of my favourites to experience and I will certainly be rereading this series as a comfort series with all our characters go through. Lana’s journey as a person, as a character, was heartwarming as it was breaking and this series will stay with me for a long time.

Wow, what an ending! A fantastic end to an incredible beginning. There are no words I can put down to convey how I feel about this book. The love between Callan and Not-Lana is one of the most poetic & everlasting loves out there. They rivalled even my most beloved characters & THAT is saying something. If I ever have a man love me as much as Callan loves our beautiful chaos, or contradictorily, Atrox loved Viviana, I would be a VERY lucky woman indeed.

Asper, I simply cannot explain how much I ADORED this woman, NOTHING can break her although plenty tried. Everything you would want in family, friends or a lover, I LOVE her. Extremely bittersweet to know the series has ended but definitely an all time re-read list maker - 5 f”in stars for all 3 books. Bravo, Everly Frost, bravo 🥹.

slow going

I love Frost’s stories. They are always creative and exciting with well developed characters and good writing; however, this book was slow. I loved the first book in this series and got excited for the second but this one was slow and I lost touch with that connection to the characters. I just didn’t understand the entire shadow dragon thing and then there being another entity inside of the dragons, like reincarnated dragons, it was just too much in the end.
Around chapter 27 I called it and skipped to the last chapter. I don’t feel upset about it. I wanted to love it I really did but there was too much going on and too many disconnects for me to stay invested.

There is definitely a lot of action in this book. There are several times that Lana almost dies, but she’s always nursed back to health by somebody. She finds out who Callan’s dragon really is and unfortunately, he takes over and is not as nice to Lana as Callan was. The difference between Callan and his dragon is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Callan tries to break through whenever he can to help Lana with her mission. The Angels that were supposed to serve her as the avenging angel have turned on her so now she’s having to fight the dragons and the angels. I will definitely read the next book in this series. I listen to this book on Audible and it was a same narrator as previous books in the series.

Slay the Dawn is the conclusion to Supernatural Legacy. So. Much. Happens!!! Such an interesting twist on dragons! Everly’s take on Dragon and Angel gold is really fascinating – I love how it was woven throughout the final book and was such an integral part of everything.
We learn more about what caused the rift between Angles, Dragons and humans along with what is blocking Dragon shifter powers. Really fantastic conclusion to the series. Lana/Not-Lana goes through so much in this final installation but she also retains the self-worth she gained from being around Callan which keeps her going. Great storyline, excellent writing; very much worth your time!

It’s official….Supernatural Legacy is my new favorite series by Everly Frost! It has everything you could want-dragons, angels, spice, plenty of angst, and a bada** FMC. Slay the Dawn picks up right where Chase the Shadows left off and it kept me guessing the whole time. I really had no idea how this story was going to end. I absolutely loved Lana as the FMC and seeing how much her character developed over the series. Also Callan was just chef’s kiss perfection in always supporting Lana and helping her realize her needs and wants. The connection they shared was truly special to read. I’m so excited that we are getting a spin off series with Dark Magic Shifters!

What a conclusion....

Continuing from were book 2 left off we follow Lana having to deal with the Callan situation aswell as trying to save the dragon race from the crazy fire dragon Atrox aswell as the nutty angels... i must admit i wasnt as engrossed to begin with as i was with the previous books but once the action kicked in i was all in....

The world building was great, the characters involved i loved- Micah and Sophia (sooo rooting for them) even Issac, completely loyal and just wanted to make his mistakes right.

Book 3 broke Lana but she definitely showed how bad*** she is, no one can mess with an Avenging Angel.

What a brilliant ending to what has been an epic series. This book will have you falling in love with Not-Lana and feeling so much more than raw anger at everything she had thrown her way. With Dragons and Angels on the brink of all-out war, and neither side looking like winners, can the only person who has the most to lose win the fight against twin brothers bent on her destruction? Im sorry to see this series end, with in-depth storytelling and world-building as well as all the feels its a book and series I relish reading again

Slay the Dawn is the conclusion to the supernatural legacy novels. There is a war between the humans and dragons.

This was my favorite book of the year by far. I wish I could read Slay the Dawn again for the first time. Slay the Dawn was excellent, a real page-turner. Slay the Dawn was fast-paced, engaging and suspenseful. Slay the Dawn forced me to feel the characters' emotions. I would recommend Slay the Dawn to anyone. Read Slay the Dawn! I promise, you’ll be hooked.

I loved the romance. The romance had a ton of kissing scenes which was awesome.

Captivating and conceptually intriguing

So many books are the same concept, different story. I happily spend my time immersed in this genre. This series? It's like a zebra in a pack of horses. A fascinating and enjoyable read, as most of this genre is for me. Similar... and yet startlingly different, review worthy and stands out in the best possible way. Worth every moment I spent reading instead of sleeping! If you haven't read this author before, this is the perfect series to start with!

Action packed!

Slay The Dawn kicks right off from the end of book 2. Everly gives a few small pieces from the previous book to help keep it fresh but not enough to be repetitive.
Lana, Not-Lana, Asper has a huge task before her. Callan has been destroyed by Atrox and that is a devastating blow to Lana but with the help of her friends and allies she breaks through.
Everly Frost has created a fantasy world that takes the readers for a ride. Her words draw you in and captivate your imagination. This is definitely a series worth reading!

A Perfect Conclusion

This series has had me hooked from book one, page one, and this final book was no exception. I couldn't put it down. I love Lana's character so much! The duality of her nature is amazing and her strength is so beautiful. She's everything I hope I'd be in her situation. I loved the tie-ins with a previous series the author had written as I absolutely loved that series as well! I'm just sad it's over now and hope the author will continue to write in this world so maybe we might get glimpses of these wonderful characters again!
