I LOVE Blake Pierce. However, this book was a struggle. It reminds me alot of the Ella Dark series, which I am obsessed with. BUT, I find Paige to be very immature and child like.
She says way too many times throughout the book how she has feelings for her married partner. Stop. That is annoying. No one cares. Grow up, move on, he's married.
Paige is in the middle of training and leaves to go help with the investigation.
The book/plot was very predictable.
She gets a lot wrong during the investigation, she is training to be FBI, thinks a lot like Ella Dark. So many similarities. Makes me wonder if the author knows how to make the lead female character appear any other way?
If you want a book 📚📖 that keeps you guessing who committed the crime and the protagonist, unlike any other, Paige King FBI Suspense is one of the many Pierce Blake books 📚 for you. Agent Christopher Marriott shows up at FBI training center to ask for Dr. Paige King's help to solve another serial murder case, and time is not on their side. I love these because this young lady who has just received her doctorate and decided that she wanted to become a FBI profiler after being the object of a serial killer's fantasy. I think 🤔 Paige's infatuation with Agent Christopher Marriott helps too. Good 👍🏾 Book. I would recommend this book if you like suspense thrillers or if you might think 🤔😳 you might.
3.5 I stumbled across the many series of Blake Pierce trying to find something quick and available to download on my Libby app. Of his many female characters I've read so far, I like Ella Dark and Paige King the best. Hiwever, these books are sort of like Nancy Drew for adults. Or maybe dialed up young adult. You need to go with the idea that a young, wide-eyed newbie is going to leap forward with raw talent and gut instincts, yet often miss things right in front of her. And that trained and experienced professionals are going to overlook things that you as a reader already thought of. Willing to do that? Then you'll have a nice little beach read thriller when life has taxed your brain enough, and you're just looking for a bit of an escape from your day to day.
Paige fought off her father’s murderer and it led him in jail and her to a goal to become an FBI profiler. The agent who helped her, saw her potential and picked her to aide him in tracking down a copycat serial killer. Although she hadn’t finished her training, he saw her skills. She was exactly what he needed.
I really liked this change of pace FBI story. Poor Paige has a crush on Christopher but she has the instincts needed to catch this killer so she fights those thoughts. Christopher is more than happy to use her skills most of the time. But sometimes Paige goes it alone.
This book could use a little more editing but its was a great change of pace. I really enjoyed it.
Another great FBI BAU series about Paige King before she begins her career as an FBI BAU special agent. A page turner, edge of the seat book and unable to put down until the finish. Certainly not for the quick speed readers or those that are squeamish. Fresh as a daisy, Paige is not exactly new to serial killers with the ability to understand and get into the minds of the serial killers. The twists and turns and dead ends to some ideas of what is happening next is crucial to Paige’s new emerging skills. I’m looking forward to reading and learning more about Paige King. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Paige is still undergoing training at the academy when she is surprised by an invitation to join a new search for a serial killer. Everyone doubts she is ready for that – including herself – but Christian is sure that she will be the best match for the case because of her academic knowledge and previous performance. Paige leads the team in a series of wrong searches until she settles down and analyses what is she doing wrong. She sets a new aim, one that may highly be against her own life. A good plot and an interesting ending that kept me interested in reading more stories in this series. I received a free copy of this book from the author and this is my unbiased opinion.
I thought the book was Great. Highly recommend. It has a great plot. Paige is turning into an awesome lead character. She has confidence and strength. Her friendship with Christopher is fun to watch blossom. He seems like a great guy. It was nice to see the end of a serial killer. I know I didn't expect it. Human pride. How she discovered the next victim was crazy. I would have never thought of that person fitting the criteria.
Paige King got her Ph.D. In forensic psychology and is brought into the BAU unit. Her partner Christopher Marriot was impressed by her knowledge of serial killers and it’s important to meet with a death row i mate due to die in the immediate future. There’s a copycat who’s up for one upping the death count. Paige uses her knowledge to find the copycat’s first victim but still manages to get face to fave as she tries to outwit him!

This is also a duplicate of one of his other series. The names have changed the storyline the same. Disappointed in Page's ability to get it right. Her wild goose chases were disturbing when she did not have all the facts. Enough of the dad's murder talk. Solve it or move on. Who is Maya? About forty pages from the end Paige King turns into Maya? The last few pages of the book were the best part.
Book 2 was basically the same as book 1. Following the wrong leads, getting played by the jailed serial killer and then figuring it all out at the last minute but being on her own until the FBI agent shows up to save the day. I'm very disappointed in this series.
Paige making iOS in the FBI Academy when she gets chosen to help catch a serial killer. She already has her PHD in criminal psychology. However, she hasn't finished her FBI training. What will she do. Blake Pearce has created another Star.
I would like this series a lot better if Paige acted like an adult and stopped saying over and over that she has feelings for her partner. It was bad enough in the first book of the series but this bordered on silly. Still, I enjoyed it.
I really like Blake pierce, and was a little bit disappointed with the first book (the girl he pined) in this series. However this one was much better. Quite a few twists I didn't see and a storyline I really enjoyed reading. Excited to read more
I can’t imagine getting into the mind of serial killers!! Paige has that gift!! Following leads, hoping theyre on the right wave length. Eventually catching up to and getting another killer off the street!!
When are we going to stop pretending like Paige King is a good profiler? Book two and she still hasn’t been correct on anything. I want to keep going to see if she gets better, but idk how much more I can handle
I’m obviously in the minority, but I don’t like these characters. Once again Paige is called upon to be an expert in profiling when she’s not even close to being a professional. I’m done with this series.
I did not read book one prior. Even without it, this book was written as an excellent outstanding stand alone book. However, with that said, I’m headed to get book one. Reading this book was worth my time.
I absolutely love this series! Blake Pierce keeps your mind engaged from the first page to the last! I definitely recommend this series to anyone who like psychological thrillers 📚
Agreat suspenseful plot with believable and interesting characters. You have enough twists to keep your attention but not give away the ending. I recommend this book.
In book one, Christoper is married to Justine. Her name switches to Jennifer in the next book. Is this evidence that Blake is several writers or just sloppy writing?
Book 2 in the Paige King series has Paige struggling with the hard training to become an agent. Unexpectedly Agent Chris Mariott picks her to help catch a serial killer. Paige feels like a death row serial killer can help with the identity of this killer but there's not much time before he's put to death. They arrest someone, but Paige isn't very certain he's the killer. Another great book all the way to the last page!
