I had forgotten how utterly ridiculous the “relationship” between the two main characters is and it just ruined the book for me. He’s married, she’s infatuated and she goes on and on about how she doesn’t want to be near him because she has these feelings for him but they’re partners so she has to be near him and on and on and again and again. Grow up and do your job. I had forgotten this in the last book but I won’t forget again.
Okay I loved the plot and story, which is why it got 2 stars.
However, the plot and storyline WAS VERY SIMILIAR to that of a Ella Dark book. The exact same scenes happened with a guy playing cards. The entire book was predictable. I am so overhearing about her romantic feelings for her married partner. Her dad died and she is trying to solve that, just Ella Dark. The plot and storyline is way too similar. Why?
I love the strong lead females in both series, except they always seem to need some kind of saving. But this one seems to be a lot less "bad a$$" and a lot more googly eyed, and I hate that portal.
I want to finish the series, but honestly, it's looking like it may be hard to do.
Paige and Christopher are in an awkward relationship working together because of mutual unspoken feelings. She also wants to prove she is capable to be an agent and do things by herself which puts extra stress on their daily work. They are searching for a killer that stages their victims as in a trick in a magician's show and it takes them almost four victims until the culprit is identified and arrested. The Girl He Took has a good plot and keeps the reader guessing what will come next. In view of the ending of this story, I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my opinion.
This is another in a great mystery by my favorite psychological thriller suspense author Blake Pierce. Dr. Paige King is now an official FBI agent in the Behavioral Analysis Unit and off on her first case as an agent with her partner, Agent Christopher Marriott. Christopher and Paige have chemistry, and both have tried to ignore and still work together which is proving hard. They are in Las Vegas working on the case of magician who is killing women. The magician even kills another woman after they get to Vegas. Can't wait to read the next Paige King Suspense Thriller. Definitely a good read.
Blake’s female characters are always strong capable women who are slightly flawed. I don’t remember how I got his first Riley Blake book but I have been binge reading him ever since. Paige King is another blockbuster character you are going to want to read about. I read this and another of his books at the same time. He’s got me hooked for life. You will enjoy this one and make sure you read the two that came before it.
Paige King is now an FBI agent & just started with the BAU. Her father's killer has killed again & she begs to be put on the case but is assigned with Christopher to a serial killer involving magicians in Las Vegas. Her boss promises if she helps solve this case, he will give her more details about her father's killer. She & Chris work hard to solve their case which has many twists and turns. Very good, page turning book! Can't wait for the next one!
Paige and Christopher are sent to Las Vegas to catch a serial killer. This new team in the FBI’s BAU unit is tasked to solve several murders of women. Christopher has a knowledge of magic and his familiarity with how things are done helps narrow the search. Poor Paige is still fighting her attraction to Christopher and her interest in the killer who took her father years ago.
I love the Paige King stories and the sexual tension she has with her partner makes the story even more relatable. We have all dealt with impostor syndrome and Paige being a PhD and doubting herself makes me feel seen.

This is g first book I have read by Blake Pierce and I found it enjoyable. The character development is good and the suspense was appropriate for the book. I do plan to read more by Pierce
