A Paige King Mystery by Blake Pierce, the story of The Girl He Wished (Book 4), begins with the brutal murder of a popular woman worker at a Renaissance Fair. It follows a similar modus operandi to that of a realtor just two days earlier - but what's the link between them? FBI Agents Paige King and Christopher Marriott are quickly on the scene when a third victim's discovered - but who's the killer? Paige thinks she's correctly profiled the man responsible, but will the mission to catch the fleur-de-lis maniac cost her the life of someone close to her...or even her own?
Grab a copy of Blake Pierce's The Girl He Wished to see if you worked it out correctly too. Highly recommended to fans of Willow Rose, Carolyn Arnold and Tom Turner.
Paige and Christopher are chasing an assassin who seems to choose his victims on a whim - that's their first thought until they realize that the killer puts a lot of thought and planning before he acts. In this story, Paige has to go in deep into the killer's mind to be able to find him and bring him to justice. The story has a great plot, it's well written with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader's attention full time. I thank you, the author, for the given ARC in exchange for my honest review.
They look like random murders at first glance. The popular restaurant wench from a medieval fair, the woman in her fancy sports car and the goth on the bus but they’ve angered someone. There are so many candidates and suspicion men but the local police are more hinderance than help. Once again Paige nearly gets them both killed but she and Christopher win out in the end.
Skewed reality, and forbidden love. This murder mystery was intriguing, and very interested in learning the personality of the actual murderer. Paige once again gets herself in trouble, but somehow when’s the day again, while trying to hold her self from a man that she’s in love with, but he’s married. Partners can be a tricky thing and a dangerous thing ready for the next one.
The plot line tension of Paige and Christopher is starting to get a tad annoying. They’re tension is missed glances and perceived tension. I felt that it took away from the story. Still pressing on because I like Paige’s character as a profiler
It’s twisty and very confusing. You din’t know who the killer is. It’s very covert and full of flavors once you put he pieces together, you will realize that what you thinking before was totally different.
I will quite happily read all bo!oks by Blake Pierce, I love her style of writing and FBI books and will quite often binge read a whole series at once. This one is no different.
