Coming back to their own dimension, Milton Frederick and his AI guide, ALANNA, discovered that things were not quite how they left it. After the Station Core and his crew of Proctans acquired a derelict space station, fixed it up to include a makeshift dungeon, and then stopped the Heliothropes from invading and conquering an entirely new dimension, they managed to survive and return to Milton’s home dimension victorious.
But they didn’t return alone.
Connecting to what is being dubbed the “Creator” dimension, the beautiful Dungeon Core named Sandra is now able to visit Milton’s space station through a fixed dimensional portal. Because of this, she is able to treat the entire structure as an extension of her own Area of Influence. Now, working together – Station Core and Dungeon Core – the two of them work to construct a dungeon inside of the station that utilizes their combined strengths, an unprecedented amalgamation of two completely different styles of defense. While at the same time, they also strive to determine what is their ultimate goal against the Heliothropes, which will determine the future of their endeavors.
Even with their combined might, will it be enough to stop the tyrannical reign of the Heliothropes? Only time will tell, of course, but after constructing a lasting relationship with a brand-new ally, Milton can only hope for the best.
Dimensional Dungeon Cores is a continuation of the Station Cores and Dungeon Crafting series, though it can be enjoyed without having read the previous books. This story contains LitRPG and GameLit mechanics, Dungeon Core elements including dungeon construction and defense, and optional stat tables in the form of footnotes. Contains no foul language, no harems, and no sexual content.
Milton and Sandra have destroyed the anchor ship on Sandra’s world. She has also agreed to join him on Murder Station. Not only to help combat the Heliotropes, but also to spend some more time with Milton. Now they need to figure out how to integrate their two types of dungeons together to save not only the Galaxy, but the entire multiverse.
This is how you do a crossover book. It spends a fair amount of time merging the two stories and bringing in characters from each story as well as new characters. The ending prepares you for another crossover, if you want to read up on that series beforehand. The narrators do a great job. I really appreciate that Sandra’s original narrator is brought over for this series
Milton continues to try and save the universe with Sandra at his side. Now armed with a dimension hopping station, he travels looking for a path to victory. He saves some people and then more. And he starts combining the wonders of multiple dimensions to beat the masters. I’m the end he and his Allie’s have won a few battles but realize that that price will be too heavy. So they need new things. The bad guys hit up another dimension and do Milton and gang head to the rescue.
Really fun and addictive. I throughly enjoyed it. I especially liked having access to the data and screens through footnotes. I look forward to the next one. Enjoy
Plot: Milton uses Sandra as a crutch. No new ideas from Milton, just uses Sandra’s creatures mixed with his own. It seems like the author wants to bring all his other books together to fight the enemy in this book. Is it because he is out of ideas? Only time will tell.
Characters: Nothing new really. Picked up a bunch of support characters. That’s it.
If you've read the others and liked them you'll like this too. It's more of the same, dungeon building, resource management, and since plot development, but it didn't feel quite as good as the others. Still good, just not great. The ending hints that the next one could be much more interesting though, so I'm going on to the next book.
From the contrived issues constantly popping up to the mc and his crew forgetting past experience for future use and the the dumbing down of the mc to make sure things happen that he cannot foretell with past experience as a guide. I just could not finish book.
Looking forward to the next one and the meeting to come. I'm really into this concept of tying together different series. Though I have to admit I was expecting this to link to Dungeon Fairy :) More to come it seems!
I loved the book, it's well written and edited. The characters are great and I really love that Mr. Brooks is bringing his series together into a connected multiverse.
Woohoo bring in book three. I'm looking forward to the tie in to his next book when another of my fave characters from his series Dungeon World will be introduced. Keep up the great work
