From May 1987 so it’s full of technicians talking models, camera techniques and precision work rather than bods staring at screens as they talk about CGI. This starts with a good length feature on “Little Shop Of Horrors” (practical effects and puppetry) that is worth the price of admission alone, with a lot of information excellently relayed. “The Gate” was a film I originally read about in Fango but didn’t get to see until years later and this treats the subject well and thoroughly explains forced perspective work. “The Golden Child” is a film I saw at the cinema and haven’t since so my memory of it is poor (well, it is 35 years!), though I do remember the dancing Pepsi can and from what I read here it might be worth a re-evaluation. A cracking edition of the magazine that’s filled with processes which might now be outdated but still stand up well on screen. This was a great read and I highly recommend it.
