ORION I’m torn between two women… They’re as different as night and day, yet I want them both. Frankie, the sensitive, single mom. Watching her care for her son damn near has me ready to give up my bachelor lifestyle. Then there’s my Bluebird, the stripper who’s captivated me since the moment I laid eyes on her. One woman is my soulmate and the other is my every fantasy come to life… I know I can’t have them both, but how am I supposed to choose?
FRANKIE I feel like I’m living two lives… The sweet single mom by day and the sexy stripper by night. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine myself shaking my ass on stage for a bunch of horny men. Yet, here I am, doing just that. But it’s all worth it, if it means I can give my son the childhood I never had. I can’t afford any distractions, especially of the tall, dark, and handsome variety. Which is why my oh-so-tempting roommate is totally off-limits and can never know that his precious Bluebird and I are one and the same.
This book ended up being a lot cuter than I thought it would be. And that was a really good thing because I loved the dynamic between Orion and Frankie. They had such a sweet relationship and I really enjoyed seeing how Orion treated Frankie and her son. Especially how he was with Maverick. He was completely in love with that little boy and it was the cutest thing seeing them together. Orion quickly stole my heart and he had me swooning all over these pages.
Overall, this is definitely a must read. It does have characters from Ms. Farlow's other books but it can be read as a standalone with no problem in my opinion.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
What happens when a man falls in love with the same woman twice? You get a surprising heartfelt story that is filled with love and passion.
The only thing that Frankie cares about is providing a good stable life for her four year old son. When she's not working or going to school, spending time with him is her only priority and putting him first. But an encounter with a handsome stranger at her job has made Frankie feel something for the first time in a very long time. Desire. Wanting something you know you shouldn't indulge in, is what's making Frankie rethink everything about relationships. Can she find love with someone unexpected?
This story was a little bit too fast paced for me and I didn't feel the connection between the main characters as much as I wanted to. One minute they were starting to become friends and the next everyone was declaring their love for each other and I just needed things to slow down. I think that if the story had more "meat" to it and not having it feel like a quick instant love romance, then I definitely would've enjoyed it more.
This is my first time reading anything from this author so if you're a fan of her work, then you might enjoy this one. What didn't work for me just might be the thing that makes you fall in love with it.
Thank you Peachy Keen & the author for this ARC! +release date: march 24 2022
This was such a fun read! The plot itself was so intriguing, I mean, come on, Frankie is living a double life, and Orion is in love with both entities, unaware they’re the same person??? Amazing! On top of that, Frankie is a single mom, and I’m a sucker for the single parent trope.
The writing was so entertaining, and the relationships L.K Farlow managed to create between no only the two main characters but also the side characters as well was great! My personal favourite was between Maverick, Frankie’s son, and Orion.
If you love the single parent trope, and forced proximity, this is for you!
Also, can we stop advancing this absurd and ridiculous plot in which a heroine wants to be so independent that she would rather strip for money (while she is in college and has a child to feed and clothe - basically one of the most difficult situations ever) rather than accept money from her super rich, singer brother who would give her everything.
So you tell me that instead of accepting money for rent and food from your rich brother and that way be able to go to college but be home for your child while trying to build a better future for both of you, instead of that you decide that you would rather strip, work nights, try to find unreliable childcare or leave your kid with strangers just for what? To show what? prove what? That you’re stupid? That doesn’t make you better honestly. True grit is when you have no choice but you’d do everything for your kid. Her deciding to spend less time with her son and then complain that she has to strip when she literally doesn’t have to, does not make her anything but an idiot.
This was just the sweetest story ever! Frankie has been forced to work as a stripper while she struggles between raising her son and attending college. When a friend steps up by offering her a place, she's introduced to her brother, Orion, who is also living there. Frankie is completely blown away when she realizes that Orion is her favorite customer at the strip club and he has absolutely no idea they are the same person. Meanwhile, Orion who has been obsessed with the mystery woman at the club is now torn between her and catching feelings for the super sweet single mom that's living at his sister's place too.
First of all, when I read this blurb, I was super excited to read the story and it did not let me down! The storyline was super cute and the story itself was well written and moved quickly. The characters were absolutely wonderful. I love grumpy/sunshine and I really love it when the heroine is the grumpy and the hero is the sunshine, lol. Frankie is just super jaded after all she's gone through and always trying to figure out the angle when people help her out. Orion is a super sweet, kind of jokester who is always laughing and is really persistent with Frankie. I absolutely adored the fact that he didn't try to play "both women" at the same time. That would have really bothered me. It was a slow burn, but there was just so much chemistry between the two of them. Super adored this book and would HIGHLY recommend!
PTook a chance on a new to me author and underwhelmed. 🤷 she's a single mom of a 4 yo boy who is finishing up college while stripping. No help from her family and doesn't want handouts from her rock star brother. Okur den.
She's grumpy and thinks everyone leaves her.....well missy, with that attitude, I'm sure you can't blame people for wanting greener pastures 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
🤔🤔
🤔
Anyhoo. H comes to the VIP section often to see his "blue bird" because her eyes are a unique shade of blue. But when she's evicted and she moves in with Hs sister, he doesn't recognize her when he first sees her. At all.
Sigh. Seriously?! Are you for real right now? What mask and red hair extensions hide someone's body and distinct blue eyes that you have no fuckkking clue that its the same person? Lije....seriously what?! Its not like she's wearing a nutty professor body prosthetic! 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 her eyes are the same color!!!!! And her hair!!!!!! Holy big holey batman! Its a big one! Mighty.....big.
Anyway, its a fine read if you want one where everything falls into place and the kid is cute always. But maybe its because of all the sugar and sweets he eats during the book.
The whole time, I kept thinking of those shirts they sell at beach t shirt places that say "I support single moms" with a picture of a stripper and a pole 😂🤷
It was ok. I didn't Dnfed but I just rolled my eyes. A lot.

This was such a sweet and swoony story! Pretty Little Thing is just charming- a sweet, heartfelt and tenderly told story about finding the courage to open your heart and finding love in the place you least expect it. I couldn't put this dreamy story down!
This love story starts in the place we’d least expect it, with private dances in a strip club. A stripper by night and a student by day, our heroine Frankie’s doing what she can to survive and support her son, but a string of bad luck forces her to have to rely on the kindness of a classmate Stella, a veritable stranger. Only once she meets Stella’s stoic and sexy brother Orion, she realizes he in fact is NOT a stranger, only he doesn’t know it. Cue all the delicious secret identity, single mom, forced proximity magic.
Our heroine Frankie is my favorite kind of heroine- she’s strong but has a gentle vulnerability to her, a woman who has faced personal adversity with grit and resolve. But her adversity has made her leery of leaning or connecting with others, and there’s a palpable loneliness to her. Frankie certainly has a toughness to her, but she’s also not bitter, she still has soft edges and a gentle heart, and she’s such a wonderful mom. Her strength isn’t in attitude, it’s in her hard won independence, and leaning on others unsettles her. But it also is cathartic- as she realizes that not all connections are hurtful, that love can be selfless and pure. Even if her love starts in a strip club.
And Orion is just the swooniest book boyfriend. LK gives us a hero that is strong and solid, a bit of an alpha but also gentle and kind. He’s patient with Frankie, open and honest- and emotionally available! BE STILL MY HEART! Orion is the kind of hero who loves completely- he cares for Frankie in the way we all deserve to be loved. And this man with Frankie’s kiddo Maverick?! My ovaries were exploding. The integrity and stableness of his love is the most beautiful thing, and he provides a safe space for Frankie to open her heart. In him she finally finds HOME.
The chemistry is sweet and steamy all at once- all the butterflies and all the heart palpitations. We get to see these two develop a gentle friendship first, a mutual respect and trust, one that blossoms into the most adorable and heartwarming romance. And little Maverick is a heart-melting scene stealer- I could not get enough of this kid.
This is LK Farlow at her finest- and by far my favorite of this series. With its unexpected plotline and heartfelt sincerity, this story warmed my whole heart. Addictively heartwarming from the first page to the last!
Frankie is a solo parent to her gorgeous wee boy Maverick. She is in college working hard to get a qualification to secure their future. She works nights at a local club as a stripper because let's face it the tips and the pay are really good, even after paying for a babysitter. Needs must. When she gets notice of eviction she feels so overwhelmed and has no idea what she is going to do.
She is fiercely independent and when one of her classmates encourages her to open up a bit it all spills out. Turns out that Stella was the right person to let her guard down to, in fact she becomes a fairy godmother to Frankie and Maverick. Soon they have moved in with Stella and it feels like a true family home for them all now.
Orion has recently been displaced from his apartment when his roommate moves his girlfriend in. He reluctantly moves back home with his parents but his sister Stella takes pity on him and offers him the last spare room at her apartment. Straight away he becomes fast friends with Maverick, Frankie’s son. This kid is so cute and Orion is the only guy he sees on a regular basis so the bond between them grows every day.
Orion has a secret though, he has had a huge crush on a girl only known to him as Bluebird, he pays to see her in the VIP room of an adult club on a regular basis. No lines are crossed, he just likes being with her and dreams that one day they could be something more. However, the more time he spends around Frankie, the less he feels the need to see Bluebird. There is something about her that draws him, in fact any time spent with her and Maverick becomes the highlight of his day.
You know what I’m going to say right? Frankie is hiding her own secret from Orion, she is in fact his Bluebird but she is afraid of what he will say when he finds out. It weighs heavy on her heart, especially as she is feeling so much for Orion and is hoping he feels the same way.
Well this was my Saturday indulgence and I inhaled it in one sitting :) This story had all the things I love about a weekend read, I love the single parent trope and I finished with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my chest :)
Frankie is a single mother of a four year old named Maverick, works, and goes to school. Orion is a single business owner of a construction company. They both get kick out of there current places. Stella makes friends with Frankie and rents her a room, and also Orion is Stella’s sister so he gets the other room. Orion and Frankie have instant sparks. But she has a secret and is used to doing things on her own. Can Orion get her to open up? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book I love Orion, Frankie, and Maverick and all of the characters.
I’ve been looking forward to reading Orion and Frankie’s story. LK Farlow does an amazing job of writing these characters so you are in the story along with them. And little Maverick has become one of my favorite kids in a book. He’s just the cutest. So fun catching up with some of our other favorites too.
“I mean it with every ounce of my being. I love you. I love Maverick. Y’all are the future I want.” - Orion
Pretty Little Thing, the third instalment in LK Farlow's Central Valley U series, delivered the usual blend of engaging writing, fun story, and easy to like characters as the other books in the series. This is a contemporary set college romance series with a dash of the forbidden love trope mixed into the blend.
Farlow's writing style is captivating and engaging which always makes it easy to get lost in her world and story. Her characters were well-drawn and relatable. Very likeable and easy to root for but with distinct personalities and flaws of their own. This time the focus was on Orion, Stella’s protective older brother introduced in the previous books, who found himself entangled in an unexpected love triangle of sorts.
The twist of the story lay in the dual identity of the female lead. Orion was initially drawn to Birdie, a masked stripper with whom he was infatuated with. However, as he got to know Frankie, his sister's new roommate, he found himself quickly catching feelings for her as well. The big twist was the fact that Frankie and Birdie were actually the same person!
One of the strengths of Pretty Little Thing was how it handled the pseudo-love triangle. While Orion's fascination with Birdie set up the plot, the story quickly shifted focus to his burgeoning relationship with Frankie and her son. Once Orion decided to pursue a future with Frankie and firmly committed to their relationship he was fully committed so we avoided prolonged drama or indecision. I was expecting a lot more love triangle melodrama but it turned out to be just a tiny set up gimmick to set up a fairly sweet and soft regular romance about a guy wooing a wary, and reluctant to commit, single mother. This decisive turn made it easy for me to fully invest in the pairs romance and root for their happy ending.
All in all Pretty Little Thing was a fun read that balanced romance, drama, and the complexities of self-discovery. Farlow has an ability to create chemistry between her lead characters and her knack of abandoning the set up gimmick of her tales and just committing to regular sweet romance is weirdly successful!
Rating: 4 stars. Very readable!
Audio Note: Charlotte Claremont and Blake Lockheart narrated this one. Claremont was excellent and really brought the story to life. Lockheart was solid. The flaw was the fact that both had slightly different interpretations of the characters which hurt the consistency of the story as we bounced from one POV to the other.
It's only March but I can feel that 2022 is going to be the year of single parent romance. There is something magical and heartwarming about two kinds of love in one story. And L.K. Farlow made Pretty Little Thing a very emotional and steamy one. My heart is so full for Frankie and her fierce fight for herself and her kids. And it was no less mesmerising to see someone gorgeous and alpha like Orion falling for them.
Frankie has been handling all the baggages in her life alone. Working in night as a stripper in ATF club and studying in day to earn a degree that would help her to get a more decent job. Her son Maverick is everything to her. One day, she is evicted from her apartment suddenly and her friend from college, Stella has an extra room for her to rent. What she didn't know is the fact that Stella's brother Orion is the VIP client who has been visiting her in the nightclub. Orion doesn't recognise her in daylight and slowly gets attached to Maverick. And their chemistry is burning too. Can Frankie risk it all? What will happen when Orion comes to know the truth?
Strong heroines are my weakness. And Frankie shines bright with her real and raw fierceness. She is a superwoman in every sense. She is stubborn and independent and hard working. But it's really a lot to handle. She has so much emotional pain. The guilt and shame about her past. The constant struggle to provide the best for her son. The relentless need to prove herself worthy and she really cannot catch a break. She is scared to feel anything for Orion as her life is at a precarious moment. But Orion is the real hero as he didnt let her push him away completely. I swooned so hard when he was so nice and caring and protective to Maverick. My heart melted by the way he handled Frankie's heart delicately. It was a dilemma for him too. Because Birdie at club helped him to forget every stressful part of his life. And he liked and respected his Bluebird. But he couldn't deny this all consuming attraction and overwhelming feels he had for Frankie. It was a very interesting plot and I loved how the author executed it. Maverick is the cutest kid ever. And the chemistry? Chef's kiss!
Oh my gosh this is the sweetest book I've read in so long!! Seriously all the feels with this one -- and I'm so thankful for that because I really didn't like the first two books in the series but this book is everything I usually love about LK's writing and then some. I seriously started and finished this in less than two hours; that's how good it was! Ahh, I just have a permanent smile on my face!
Make sure yall preorder this one!!
*full RTC
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
I ended up flying through this story. And while this can definitely be read as a standalone, I am kicking myself for not reading the ones that obviously came before. I feel like I missed out on some great stories and relationships. But even still, a fabulous romance none the less with equally amazing characters.
I was infatuated with these characters from the start. I loved how Frankie was as a mother and as “Birdie”. She stole my heart from the beginning and was absolutely lovable. Same with Orion. I immediately loved him and his big, beautiful, kind heart. How could I not love a relationship between these two. So completely wonderful.
I kept waiting for some huge meltdown to make it’s self known as the story kept building and building. But thankfully it wasn’t as angsty as I thought it would be. And it ended up being a breath of fresh air to read this sweet but tantalizing book. Completely captivated by it all.
A definite must read romance. But if I could offer a little bit of sage advice, I would say read the other books that came before. Stella was a firecracker I wish I had known about before going all in. 5 Stars!!
Pretty Little Thing has quickly catapulted its way to the top of my LK Farlow favorites. It's smartly written with realistic characters that you'll wish you could befriend in real life. The way our heroine, Frankie balances her life as a mom to four-year-old Maverick by day and a sexy af stripper by night was genius and expertly done. You won't even question how Orion took so long to put the pieces together. This dirty talking man will have you sweatin' in yo panties, ladies. LAWD HAMMERCY. RUN don't walk to the zon and grab your copy today. You can thank me later ;)
This book reminds me of one of my oldest sisters. Just like Frankie she was a single mom ( granted she didnt work as a stripper),both her and Frankie are good moms that will do anything for their kids. And in the end they both got their happy endings. Must read ♡
There's a reason why I love single parent tropes and this book is exactly why. Though I definitely need more with single moms. Orion and Frankie's story is so sweet and full of feels. Orion never wanted kids but the moment Frankie and Maverick move into his sister's house, he can't help but fall in love with the kid and slowly for his mom too.
To see this change in Orion is so beautiful. I absolutely loved and adored his relationship with Maverick. My heart couldn't take just how sweet and loving he is with him. I kept on thinking does he not really want kids with the way he is with Maverick? Because I had swoony eyes for the guy the whole time.
And of course, the way he is with Frankie, how he's so patient with her, it's official, he's the sweetest guy ever. I loved how he's all in with her and he shows it to her too. And that ending? I fell in love with the three of them over and over again.
Frankie's doing what all single parents do - working and providing for her child, and going to school. She doesn't realize it, but she's met her one, while at her job giving him a dance in a private room. Then circumstances force her to move in with that one, and she and Orion are developing feelings all over the place. She has a secret, though, and it's one that could sever the beautiful thing they've started. Will he forgive her when he finds out who she really is?
Orion can't believe he's in love with two different women. How will he ever choose between them? The beautiful, hardworking single mom he's been rooming with. And the sensual dancer he can't help but watch. What will he do when he finds out the real identity of one of them? Will he ever forgive her?
I loved Frankie and Orion together. He's so good with her adorable son, and is all in. Well, with the little exception that he's in love with another woman too. The way he handled the big secret was pretty low on the angst, and fit in with the rest of the story that's so sweet. Throw in great chemistry, the most adorable little boy, and two lovable leads, and Pretty Little Thing turned out to be a sweet, sexy read.

TROPES: single parent. forced proximity. friends to lovers. slow burn. POV: multiple. CLIFFHANGER: no. HEA: yes!
This book was CUTE and heartwarming and I was not expecting it. At all. It was quick and easy, too!
Frankie is a student and a single mom to Maverick, who is THE cutest little boy. She's had a hard life and doesn't open herself up easily. But Stella, her fellow classmate won't take no for an answer, especially when she finds out Frankie needs a place to live. I need to go read Stella and Samson's book. Orion's sister and best friend? YES PLEASE.
Orion is a single guy, doing his own thing, getting VIP dances and falling in love with a stripper named Birdie. He wasn't expecting to run into Frankie or Maverick in his sister's kitchen. The two (three including Mav) had such chemistry from the minute they met. The dynamic between between them was 🔥, but the dynamic between Maverick and Orion was the most adorable thing ever. *swoon*. The way that Orion wouldn't take no for an answer was hilarious. The guy knew what he wanted and he went for it. Seems to run in the family😂
"Do you wanna eat my mom's taco, O?" My cheeks burn crimson, while Orion's lips quirk up into a devious grin. "Only on days that end in Y, bud."
What happens when Frankie's secret comes out? Will Orion be mad or will he be getting the best of both worlds? I think you know 😌 but read this to find out!
[I received an advanced copy of this book. All opinions and words are my own.]
I did not expect this book to go the way it did. I thought from the blurb is was going to contain too much sex and too much drama, BUT I was sosoo Wrong!! Seriously this books was amazing! I loved everything for the beginning to end. Highly recommended. Slow burn, which I love! Chemistry to the max! Super sweet characters.
Franky and Orion are ohhh soo Good! And let me not forget MARVICK! Ah such a silly heartwarming boy<3
Let me start by saying Franky has it bad, she had a kid so young, she is trying to juggle life, college and work as a exotic dancer to support her son. But life is throwing her so many obstacles that she doesn't know what to do. She meets this mysterious man at her job that she is all about to loose her marbles and let him do whatever with her.
While she dances for a living. She is a college student in the morning, she meets this angel from above who is gonna fix all her problems. Her name is Stella AKA Orion sister. YES!! PLOT TWIST! I love those! . Since she is getting evicted from her place, Stella suggested to move in with her. Franky then finds out that Orion is Stella brother and is actually moving in with them as well.
Orion is a single business owner of a construction company who dislike kids and is about to get kicked out of his apartment. He meets this woman at a strip club and becomes obsessed with her, he calls her his bluebird.
I couldn't stop reading this book. L.K. Farlow brought us such amazing story, that has me hanging on every word. She writes a complicated story of a man and a woman who is living a double life, And he falls is in Love with them both...What happen when he finds out that has to choose between his bluebird and this amazing single mother? What happens when he finds out that she is both?? TUND TUND TUND!
.Maverick is a little cheerful happy boy and the interactions between him and Orion are incredible sweet! They make my heart swoon! Such amazing relationship between them too!
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review. I LOVEEEEE a single mom romance, it has become one of my favorite tropes, so when I got the opportunity to read this advanced copy I was HERE FOR IT. Frankie is a single mom, raising her adorable 4 year old son, working at a strip joint at night to pay the bills, while attending school. Orion happens to watch her at her job, and paying for private dances from her. He feels such a connection to her he goes and sees her each week. Looking forward to seeing him is the only thing that gets her through each week at her job. As much as she doesn’t like this gig. She will do anything to support her and her son while putting herself through school. When she makes friends with Stella, and learns Orion is her older brother, she can’t help but keep her identity a secret since she is always in a mask and red hair extensions. Feelings become strong between the two, Stella’s family and Orion is falling in love with her and her son. This is about as much as I want to get into this plot. For your best reading experience, I recommend going into this blinded , without knowing much of the synopsis. This is what I did aside from reading the excerpt. When I tell you I loved this, I LOVED IT. I needed a good love story ,minus the usual darkness I love, with little angst. This made my heart feel happy. I am so glad I got to read this. This was another 24 hour read and I stayed up way too late reading because I just could not get enough. I highly recommend. This book and author has me hook line and sinker and I’m anxiously awaiting her next release! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this story so much it was super sweet swoony and sexy hot ! I found myself giggling through some of it and swooning through others and the sexy times I was fanning myself the chemistry between Frankie and Orion was amazing this was such a good story great characters I love this authors writing definitely a must read and one I highly recommend can’t wait for what else this author has in store for us!

Low angst. I just found the h a bit whiny at bit poor me… It kinda put a drag on the whole book for me. Maybe I’m just not digging the poor me h atm 🤷🏼♀️
Add to the fact our H was suppose to be in love with 2 different women I was expecting maybe a bit moor umph or drama… and there was such emphasis on her unique eyes but then he failed to recognize them He was obsessed with her… and he didn’t recognize her Just missed the mark for me

I love a single mom romance so I was excites to read this book. I loved the storyline a lot. It was a tiny insta love but not too overly where the story was unbelievable. Maverick was one B of the best parts. So adorable. Not tons of steam but when it does Happen it’s good. Overall this was a quick and easy read that I enjoyed a lot.
