It has been some time since I read the previous volume, so I forgot what was happening a little. I was in the middle of an arc, after all. Anyway, a team of bad guys ends up being introduced, and we get like a Bleach villain reveal sooner than expected, which would make me think this was almost axed if I wasn't reading three years into the future....

First, they messed up Lake Baikal a little. Then, they blew up a Statue of Liberty. Now, they destroyed Stonehenge. What's next? Lol

This series is so good now! The stakes are getting even more intense, the characters are doing really interesting and surprising things…and it’s just plain fun!

Oct. 5 - 2020: This is probably my favorite of the new gen manga in Jump right now. This latest chapter was game changing.

Dec. 19 -2021: Okay. I love this volume. Now that we've got that out of the way, who the FRICK is Phil? I swear he was never in the series before. It's only been a year since I read this volume last, and I have absolutely 0 recollection of who this character is. Either they haven't done anything in the next 6 volumes, and that's why I forgot, or Tozuka added a character in the volume release. 😂

How do they manage to fit so much into one volume? The pacing on this series is unbelievable quick and streamlined in the best way possible. There's never a dull moment when it comes to this story about killing god. The second half of the fight at the boat is even more rad than what has come before and a surprisingly emotional bout, showcasing how Andy is coming to see Fuuko and the other Union members as people he can rely on, and how Fuuko has seriously stepped up. Tatiana's backstory and Chikara's backstory were both the classic tale of a young negator accidentally killing their parents. It's an unfortunate tale, yet it seems like every single person with a power has the same general backstory. After the battle with the members of Under subsides, Chikara decides to join the crew and then the tale jumps to the next announcement of quests that need to be undertaken, this time though it gets interrupted by Billy who is actually the leader of Under and uses the UMA Burn to steal the whole table in order to take charge of it. He's also aiming to kill god, while his lackeys are set on upsetting the world order after god is killed. I'm thoroughly impressed with the smartness of the battles without getting bogged down in details, like with Jujutsu Kaisen. Andy and Fuuko manage to steal back the book, which means that no more announcements can be made about future quests. It's still the middle of the fight though, so we'll see where it goes. Also, Stonehenge is the roof of their secret lair and I'm obsessed with it.

The final bit to retrieve Chikara (and get a backstory on him, poor guy), a big battle with tons of epicness, finding out more about Tatiana (poor girl but I love that she found somewhere to belong), a new organisation appears (named Under which just made me laugh), betrayal, and so much more. Holy crap, I was just flying through the pages. I need the next volume! Squeee!

Andy and Fuuko are back and are joined by more characters some we've seen before. We get to learn more about Tatiana and Chikara. We also learn more about Billy too 👀👀.

Absolutely the best one so far, the first fight with un-repair was crazy good, and the second fight is also amazing

I remember first reading this and not being impressed by Chikara. I am reading it a second time and am still not impressed by Chikara. Not a fan of the 'coward' characters, really. But he gets his moments! Sort of! It's nice to see someone a bit like Fuuko (a bit meek) who isn't, like, all about superpowers and wanting to die and all that. Chikara has had bad things happen but he's still got normal friends, he seems more like a regular dude (than Fuuko the shut-in who basically kills everyone around her).

We also get a bit of a 'villain' reveal with more information about Under. It's kind of cool that other negators end up feeling like a true threat, compared to what could be a monster-of-the-week about Umas. Sure, we started fighting Void and Gina, but that all felt like set-up to the actual threat of Umas and the quests. But now? Here's other people using their superpowers, with their own goals, to challenge the Union.

I read the official English translation on an app called “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”.
Honestly, I didn’t see the betrayal coming, especially since we don’t know much about that character yet. I’m excited to see else happens to Andy and Fuuko.
