Set in a futuristic world, the authoritarian leadership of the Prime is a plague against Diana and her people, colonies of insurgents attempting to rebel against their government. Infiltrating the Estate of her governor, Diana uncovers more secrets than she was expecting.
This book is hillariously young adult. In the first chapter alone you are bombarded with overused and poorly written tropes. Oh, there's an evil dictator. Oh, the main characters are BOTH rebels against this dictatorship. It should be noted that the fact that one of them does not actually work for the Prime is revealed in the PROLOGUE, even though it was obviously intended to be a massive plot twist. Oh, the heroine grew up in 'rebel camps'. Oh, she has a sarcastic and ruggedly handsome childhood friend who will undoubtedly become a third in some sort of love triangle. All these faults can be sourced from the first chapter alone.
This mix of your average 2010s dystopian and 2020 young adult romance is something no+one asked forw, no-one needed, and frankly is not made with much skill anyhow.
