Emporer's Fate starts a little slowly for me - partly because it has a lot to set up and also because I struggled a little with the concept of warriors made of fire that can appear anywhere that fire exists. Still it was well worth the effort because the book just gets better and better as it goes on to the extent that once again I find myself wishing I could have the next instalment now.
The book bristles with magic, swords and armour made of dragon scales and bones, strange and dangerous beasts, warriors of all types, people with amazing powers, political intrigue, murder, and pretty much everything else you could throw into a fantasy book. Yet it is measured and well written with key characters that you actually start to care about more and more as the story continues.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC edition in order to prepare this objective review.
Unique and wonderful. This books really does have it all. Amazing world building, in-depth character development, original magic and an awesome plot. As you can tell, I truly enjoyed this book. I received an ARC copy of this book and I’m already chomping at the bit for the next one.
I think I have loved every book by AJ Walker and this one is no different. As in the other series, this brand new series comes with awesome world building, unique magic, a fun set of characters and a twisting and turning plot. We get to follow a few sets of characters in a plot that weaves various elements together by the end. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out!
I received an ARC and am reviewing this book voluntarily. Can’t wait for the next in what will surely be another great series by AJ Walker!
