Things couldn't possibly get worse than being stuck in a broken down elevator with a work colleague you can't stand. However they do say there is a fine line between love and hate...

In this steamy novella of forced proximity, paralegal Briella will be made to give up a few home truths. Like the real reason she's a complete bitch to lawyer Harrison. Yet over the last 10 years Harrison has also been a total prick; and 11 hours together in an elevator isn't changing that.

You say it’s hate sex, but the look in your eyes suggests you have a little bit of a praise kink. Is that what it is? You want me to call you my good girl while I make you choke on my cock for all the infuriating things you’ve ever said to me?”

Harrison and Briella have unresolved animosity to work through. Initially I struggled with both their attitudes and ego's. But as the hours went by and their defense's kept lowering, the heat was quickly rising. And boy did these two get down and dirty in a very small space.

That was one of the cringiest books I've ever read. Here are some of the disgusting plotlines that happened:
- He calls her "kitten".
- He BITES his BOXERS and then stuffs them in HER MOUTH.
- They slap each other when they're making out.
- She tells him, "Fucking breed me!"
- He urinates in the Coke cup.

This was a quick and easy read.

Although short, this read was entertaining and funny, with lots of chemistry between the characters.

Perfect to get out of a book slump, as it is only 53 pages and is pretty fast pace with short chapters.

I think the quote above encapsulates pretty much every bad aspect of this whole novella, but if you're desperate for more evidence, I seem to have accumulated a shit tone of just-as-gross examples in my updates for this book. I'll now be moving on to another book in attempt to erase this one from my memory!

For such a short book the H annoyed me a lot. He was such a fucking tease to the point where I was like does he even like her??? But what can I say I live for the forced proximity and there isn't anything that forces one to be in such close proximity to another like an elevator. I need more romances with broken down elevator scenes pronto!

And no, him calling her "kitten" did not annoy me, however, their overall dialogues did.
Literally died internally several times because of the cringe and in my opinion ZEROOO logic.
Listen, I don't expect a wonderfully thought through read from short steamy novellas, however, there must be at least some coherent and comprehensible thoughts present.
I kept asking myself: Is the logic in the room with us, or rather in the elevator in that case? Because I ain't finding you in any corner, shawtey🤠😭
Also the lack of hygiene in this elevator and like how they idk proceeded to get spicy-
That was extremely hard to ignore and overlook...
Them literally doing the deed in one chapter and in the next chapter not even talking and being mean to each other (and this cycle again and again) gave me an ick, honestly

- Amnesia looking real good right now.
- The 11 hours aspect of the book was okay considering the plot but it was so messy.
- Why was he eating her out in one chapter and then they were not speaking in the next?
- Her slapping him actually had me laughing because she actually let her intrusive thoughts win. Her explanation for doing it was so very blunt that I was like ???
- Him biting his own boxers and then stuffing them into her mouth... me personally, that is a crime but to each their own I guess
- I didn't need to know this man was pissing in a coke can/bottle
- Why in the every flying fuck did she say "Fucking breed me!"
- The author said it was HFN but trust me that shit was definitely a HEA; one I didn't need. I need to see them suffer.
- I know it was a novella but a 6.2 earthquake happened and they just drove away... i will be crying myself to sleep tonight because ain't no way I read this.

It’s just a VERY wanton woman trying VERY hard to get into his pants and let’s face it.
If it was the other way around we would HATE that guy. He would be a fuck boy just wanting in her pants.

It’s not. She’s just reversing rolls and telling us it’s ok because he ate her out so he must want her too.

If you are in this for mindless spice and a quick easy read I would go with just pass. It is a very quick very easy read however it is not mindless spice it is a lot a lot of begging from the female and then a small amount of space at the very end just go to our nine read that one chapter and then skip the book. 👍🏼

Thoughts while reading: mild spoilers::
Love this concept. Trapped in an elevator due to natural causes and not just like maintenance needed.

So it feels like a love-hate relationship like could be an enemies to lovers maybe?

Or not does she just genuinely hate him??

I don’t like him very much he has so far zero redeeming qualities he is not very nice to her and yet she wants to jump his bones?

OK so we are now 20 pages into an 80 page book and I don’t know what either one of them looks like so there’s that which is quite frustrating since this is clearly just going to be a one dimensional on the surface type of book.

I am officially 50% of the way in and so far he has made her angry made me angry she has jumped down his throat he has done nothing but prove that he maybe liked her in the beginning but does it now? I genuinely don’t know I don’t know where this author is going with any of this. I don’t know of if it’s an unrequited love on his end or he secretly liked her this whole time or if he just finds her attractive and wants to bone I don’t know and it’s frustrating because she very clearly wants to be with him and have sex with him but also hates him which makes us hate him because it’s only one POV so I’m not getting much here besides frustration.

This wasn't a bad story, especially for how short it was. It did not pretend to be something it was not which I appreciated, and for how short it was the author managed to give the characters good enough personalities and backgrounds. I was definitely surprised that I didn't absolutely hate it. The breeding kink threw me off a bit, but the author did warn readers about it.

It’s testimony to the writing that I could picture both Harrison & Brielle and the whole situation so clearly it was like a film.

The premise of being stuck in an elevator with your work ‘enemy' was so well done. The tension built and built then it was like an inferno.

I was left wanting more!
