I'm less than excited about the change in titles for the first two books, as it was part of their charm...not to mention the new covers that have made these books have a romance feel to them. One of the things I loved about these books was the quirky charm, the long ass titles, the cover art, it all lent itself to something different and new. Now it's been whitewashed, at least on the outside. I'm hoping the stories haven't changed to fit a market too.
Finished this the day it was released, but only just now playing catch up with my book reviews.
I had to find my Bobby Faye book in the Romance department of Barnes and Noble, which didn't bode well for me. Like I said, read in one sitting, but I don't know if I'm over the Bobby Faye story, or I was too blind by the cheese factor of the current looks of the book and the location they're now shelved in to truly enjoy the series like I've been I'm trying to be really fair here, though if you want an illustration on how important your marketing strategy is...here's an example of a negative, changing everything mid stride.
Bobby Faye is now living with Trevor...they bought a house together and are trying the happily ever after thing...only Trevor is called away.
When Bobby Faye doesn't hear from him days after his deadline of being home, Bobby Faye freaks out and enlists Cam's help to track down Trevor. This is the part where Toni starts to lose me (outside of the shallow reasons previously mentioned). The constant play between the two men on almost every page after Bobby Faye gets him to help her, is way to much.
'And this? This moment right here? How she's feeling now? What she's going to do to get her out of her current mess?'
AHHHHH! Quit writing the story and the inner dialogue in the form of a question...because that? That's annoying. A person can only take so much. What was cute and quirky for the first book (and by the way, I still love the first two) is now wearing on me.
I love the idea of Bobby Faye, a character driven to protect her family at all costs and accidentally being the catalyst for every major disaster is funny. However, in this last one, Bobby Faye is a diluted form of her previous self. She depends on the men around her to rescue her and set things right...that's not the character I know and love.
The great things about the book..I do love the humor, though the constant flow of it gives it a forced feeling in the book.
I like the relationships of Cam and Bobby and Trevor and Bobby. It does make the heart leap a little at the heat...just please decide and don't make the whole book a mess of the back and forth, back and forth thing.

Bobbie Faye has finally made her choice, well she has on the ring of one of these guys. *I can't tell you who, you have to read the books* She seems to be setting up her nest with their new house living together and doing the mattress dance regularly. *Her man of choice does know who to dance very well.* [fans self]
So it is all looking very domestic till, he has to leave for work and he get's her a babysitter. This babysitter is one nasty, mean, Special Op Snipper, and he doesn't like Bobbie Faye one bit and share that info often and loudly.Thier battles only increase as the nightmare begins. Her love does not come back as scheduled. She then packs up her knives and guns and goes out looking for him. One big problem somebody is looking for her, and they aren't very nice. Boy does it begin, explosions, fires, shootings, spying, death and some voodoo tear out onto the page like a tornado. Bobbie Faye will never be the same, the truth is going to smack her upside the head and, well, read it to find out.
Squee ! I loved, loved, loved this last book in the trilogy. There was not one dull paragraph. I was laughing loud, cheering, and even tearing up with her many times. The ending was just perfect for this character. I do feel sorry for the one that lost and the grumpy sneering snipper, where is their HEA. Oh, yeah there is one big Cajun HEA !
I want more Ms. Causey

Update: After the second read I have to up my rating to five stars! Man, I love this series so much! And this book is as great as the rest, I can't wait to find out what happens!!
I'm starting to see that BF's reaction to the 30-mill had more to do with her inability to really accept Trevor at that point and to draw a line between him and Cam. I think she was looking for a reason to push him away, but I'm glad she got through it! :) (IE I am glad she didn't react like she did with the Lori Ann drunk driving situation, it's starting to sound like she really used that as a reason to spit venom at Cam, and Cam did not hesitate to spit it right back. So glad that Trevor had more forethought to step back and give BF the choice, which Cam still hasn't been able to do.)
First Review: I really liked this book as the first two, it was an exciting read and I just fell further in love with Bobbie Faye and Trevor. I give this one four stars instead of five because I did find the end of the novel incredibly stressful and I had no idea what was going to happen between my favorite couple! Because seriously, Trevor > Cam times a million. Finding out more about Trevor's family in the end was extremely interesting though and I can't wait to see how that all plays out! I imagine you might have a drama-filled wedding coming up, as it would only be in Bobbie Faye style.
The thing that bugged me, about Bobbie Faye mostly in this book, she was soooo angry about Trevor not telling her about the 30 million dollars. Are you kidding me? She had voluntarily not told either of them about her father's side of the family, which was *also* wealthy. Granted both men gathered it on their own, but still, it's not like BF was entirely fourth coming about her family either. I am also shocked that BF was so... well material about it, because IMHO 30 million would not have bothered me at all. Especially if I knew the circumstances, maybe Trevor should have explained his situation, but still, I think she royally over reacted.
But lets forget about that! This book had some great scenes, great action sequences and was a pleasure to read! I am excited for another book, hopefully we'll see one soon. I think I might have to pass on the upcoming prequel that's coming out, because I have very little interest in reading Bobbie Faye/Cam.

I got into this one because of a line on the front cover: "Stephanie Plum [fans[ will be thrilled to meet Bobbie Faye." That assertion suggested that this book featured a heroine somewhat analogous to Stephanie Plum, whose crazy antics I enjoy immensely, so I grabbed the book off the library shelf and took it home. As it turns out, however, Bobbie Faye's only resemblance to Stephanie is that she is young and oversexed, and her sister had a child without benefit of marriage. Unlike Stephanie, she knows all about guns (to the point of being able to identify the type of weapon by hearing it fired in the dark or by seeing the end of the barrel in the moonlight when it is stuck out of a flying helicopter many feet away) and is a crack shot (supposedly better than the Marine sniper who is asked to babysit her). Even more unlike Stephanie, she apparently is a relatively rational creature who can think her way through problems rather than stumble through them. Her family is perhaps even more inane than Stephanie's; she and her father have not been on speaking terms since she was four, her aunts are even crazier than Stephanie's grandmother, and her grandmother is a bonafide witch. Like Stephanie, also, she has a boyfriend ... except that he is the local FBI agent in charge and he has gone off on a secret mission -- which just happens to be tied in with a revenge plot of some Irish thugs that Bobbie Faye and her boyfriend shot up in a preceding novel. (Goodreads has just informed me, which the publisher did not, that this is Book #3 in the series.) Bobbie Faye also seems to have a reputation for being a walking disaster, and it is true that things seem to happen wherever she goes, even though it usually is not her fault.
Causey's writing style is pretty good, actually; she tells a good story (albeit somewhat contrived), and some of the dialog is excellent and humorous. I was intrigued by one little extra bit of humor: each of the short chapters starts with a tag line (there's a word for this, but I do not offhand recall what it is) ostensibly providing some commentary; these actually have nothing to do with the chapter's contents but present an outlandishly exaggerated viewpoint of how other people in the area look upon or react to Bobbie Faye, creating a cumulative effect that is in fact highly entertaining.
Put it this way: I liked it well enough that I will go look for the predecessors (Girls Just Wanna Have Guns?)

This book is spectacular. There is non stop action. It is funny, witty, smart and you just fall in love with all the characters. I love these characters so much. I wish I knew a Bobbie Faye because life would never be dull. LOL
You will want to read the first 2 books to be sure you get where "When a Man Love a Weapon" takes off from.
The first book is "Charmed and Dangerous". Literally a page turner. It is hard to believe the entire book is one day! That's how action packed it is.
The second book is "Girls Just Wanna Have Guns". This book has an awesome plot and once again a page turner. You will giggle and fall in love with this series. After reading the second book, I could not wait for the third book.
I hope Toni McGee Causey keeps writing these Bobbie Faye stories because quite frankly we all need a little Bobbie Faye (and Trevor :) ) in our lives!!

Bobbie Faye and Trevor have been settling into their new home when he gets a surprise mission. Before he leaves, he promises it will just be a couple days and sets her up with his best friend as a watchdog.
After more than a few days, Bobbie Faye gets anxious and with some other information, convinces her most current ex (who isn't happy about the ex part) to help her find an older ex who may know something and starts a chain of disasters as she is known for.
The book starts slow, but soon becomes almost non-stop action. I hate love triangles and this shows how the outcome can be not good. And boy did the villain plan well for being insane.
After more than a few days, Bobbie Faye gets anxious and with some other information, convinces her most current ex (who isn't happy about the ex part) to help her find an older ex who may know something and starts a chain of disasters as she is known for.
The book starts slow, but soon becomes almost non-stop action. I hate love triangles and this shows how the outcome can be not good. And boy did the villain plan well for being insane.

Finished this one today and if this is truly the final book in the series, I'm happy on how it ended. But......if I had a say, I'd want at least two more books.
I think of all 3 books, the suspense of this one was the strongest. The bad guy from book 2 is back and looking for revenge but mainly is obsessed with Bobbie Faye and trying to kidnap her for his own sick pleasure while getting back at Trevor knowing he took the woman Trevor loves. I think the humor is definitely tamped down in this one but I still felt like the story moved right along. I wanted to know what happened asap so I read any chance I got.
One of the big things in this book are the sneak peeks into Trevor's background and those little glimpses are like fuel to a happy reader's fire. I want to see what happens at Bobbie Faye's first meeting with Trevor's family. I want to see what kind of trouble she could get in while planning their wedding. I want to know what kind of relationship she'd have with Riles since he's pretty much Trevor's best friend yet she and Riles are like oil & water. I also want to see what happens with Bobbie Faye and her own best friend, Nina, since finding out about Nina's secret life. I want to see Cam finally let her go and find someone - maybe Nina.
But.....if this is the final book, I am good with how it ended and in the end that's all I can ask for - to leave as a happy reader.

Villain Sean MacGreggor has escaped and he's after Bobbie Faye and Trevor. When Trevor goes on an assignment for the FBI, he leaves his friend, Berneke Rilestone, Riles for short, to act as babysitter/bodyguard for the couple of days he would be gone. It isn't long before a couple of days turns into a week, making Bobbie Faye unable to sleep or eat, while she and Riles drive each other crazy. Former flame, Cam, sees this as an opportunity to get Bobbie Faye back and begins his campaign, but Trevor isn't just on assignment, he is looking for MacGreggor in hopes of keeping Bobbie Faye out of harms way.
When a Man Loves a Weapon is a good romantic suspense with lots of action, but the tone is very different from the previous two books in the series. The wackiness is there, but fails to add humor to this much more serious story where Bobbie Faye must make a choice between Cam and Trevor in the midst of helping her sister's alcohol problem and finding out that her best friend has been keeping secrets and lying to her about who she really is. Also, magical realism takes center stage in the climax of the plot, rather than playing an ambiguous role as in the other books. Overall, When a Man Loves a Weapon is a more traditional romantic suspense story but is still an enjoyable end to this series even though much of the humor is missing.

Bobbie Faye's rabbit foot bracelet is full of juju and keeps going black, even exploding as she gets closer to danger. People or betting against or for her again. Sean is back to get her but she has Trevor and Cam..and the new body guard, Riles. All hands on deck, but where is her best friend Nina? Can you image a future for Bobbie Faye as a wife or even a parent? Wish there was another book in the series.

Well I did it, yes I am weak! I read the first two books in French and it’s been a while since I expected the release of the third novel. But it seems that it’s compromised… but well I still hope that the other readers will have the opportunity to experience the final book in this trilogy one day.
Bobbie Faye is engaged to Trevor and everything happens for the best. Indeed, they have already bought a house, he cares for her and does everything to make her happy. But there is a downside and Bobbie is always full of nightmares after the events of volume 2, and she is struggling to recover from all that. But everything will change when early in the book, Trevor finds himself with a mission he gives no details about. A mission that should last only three days max and, before leaving, our FBI agent is nice enough to leave a gift to Bobbie, a beautiful bodyguard who also has the function as a babysitter. And you suspect it, it is not at all, but not at all to the taste of our heroine. Especially as this character is more than annoying in all circumstances. As a bonus, he hates her, which does not help the situation either. And after 7 days, as they still don’t have any news, our disastrous duo decides to understand what is happening and to investigate the Trevor’s disappearance. Okay this is Bobbie who decided it and Riley has no other choice but to follow her, but still! And of course, who is the only person to whom she turns to for help? I’ll give you a thousand: Cam! He has however only one thing in mind, to make our heroine understand that she is not made for Trevor as he is the only one who can suit her perfectly. I must say that this is something quite comical to see especially when the two men are in the same room. To all this, a vengeful Sean is added and he would do anything to hurt Bobbie and Trevor after what they did to him. We also learn much more about our FBI agent and his history, things that even our heroine did not know about.
It was a new good book and a pretty good end, but it’s true that I would have liked another sequel. We wonder throughout the novel who our heroine will choose for her life and it is true that it is a difficult decision. I confess that I would like a relationship with both to see the differences. It’s a kind of Stephanie Plum book with a Ranger and a Morelli … but it is difficult to see her choose as we would like her to stay with the two throughout the novels. But no, here our heroine chooses the one she really wants to keep even if the other is far from accepting the decision. Apart from this, we also attend many disasters because when Bobbie Faye is there, they are everywhere. It was very funny to follow her but also quite sad to see how she ends up. All the characters we know are here, participating directly or indirectly in all the events of the story.
To conclude, it was a happy ending even if it is true that I would have liked something different (maybe). I wonder if one day we will have something more, I would love that.

Bobbie Faye is at it again in this third book by Toni McGee Causey. Once again, death and destruction follow in Bobbie Faye's wake, most of it not her fault at all yet she still seems to get the bad rap. When Trevor, the super-sexy FBI guy who is now her fiancé, is called away on an assignment that is only supposed to last three days, Bobbie Faye is upset because they are supposed to be on vacation together fixing up their new little house. To make things worse, Trevor has arranged for a 'babysitter' for her because Sean MacGregor, the crazy Irish terrorist with a grudge, has escaped custody. While Riles, the "guard" that Trevor saddled her with, drives her crazy, Bobbie Faye terrorizes Home Depot. By day seven of Trevor's absence she has made one too many trips to the paint department, making at least one employee cry (and has painted the living room at least four different colours). But when Nick the local bookie comes to her with information that someone is making huge bets against Trevor's life, Bobbie Faye decides to take matters into her own hands and lucky for us, much mayhem ensues.

Finished this one today and if this is truly the final book in the series, I'm happy on how it ended. But......if I had a say, I'd want at least two more books.
I think of all 3 books, the suspense of this one was the strongest. The bad guy from book 2 is back and looking for revenge but mainly is obsessed with Bobbie Faye and trying to kidnap her for his own sick pleasure while getting back at Trevor knowing he took the woman Trevor loves. I think the humor is definitely tamped down in this one but I still felt like the story moved right along. I wanted to know what happened asap so I read any chance I got.
One of the big things in this book are the sneak peeks into Trevor's background and those little glimpses are like fuel to a happy reader's fire. I want to see what happens at Bobbie Faye's first meeting with Trevor's family. I want to see what kind of trouble she could get in while planning their wedding. I want to know what kind of relationship she'd have with Riles since he's pretty much Trevor's best friend yet she and Riles are like oil & water. I also want to see what happens with Bobbie Faye and her own best friend, Nina, since finding out about Nina's secret life. I want to see Cam finally let her go and find someone - maybe Nina.
But.....if this is the final book, I am good with how it ended and in the end that's all I can ask for - to leave as a happy reader.

If you like a thriller with big tough guys with rock hard abs whose arm's are "bands of steel" who worry constantly about protecting a women who is crazy and dangerous in her lack of self control, a book filled with with talk of hurt feelings and misunderstandings and worry and desire and steely hard blue eyes where the plot makes no sense and FBI and SWAT guys go around and do whatever they please and seem to have no bosses and whose bullets always hit exactly where they intend on the first shot and who stare at each other with jealousy and cold, icey fury when they are not caring deeply about something, and who don't mind when their home is demolished because of the love they have for a woman who happens to have very large breasts and who occasionally wraps her legs around her man as he "slides into her" and where to make the absolutely implausible ending work the author has to employ a psychic and juju and a magic pulsing chicken foot and sparks emminating from the fingers of a scantily clad gal in the middle of a football stadium with helicopters circling that shock a evil villain to the ground....You will love this book.
If you don't like that kind of thing don't bother.
It is fast paced and the little headings on each chapter are funny for the first few chapters.
My wife liked it and she is smart and capable. Go figure.

Really enjoyed it, but the first book will always be my favorite. I like the dynamic between BF, Cam and Trevor when they are all equally unattached. It's just not as much fun when someone pairs off, and the stories become all about domesticity and one person being tired of worrying about losing the other one all of the time. I feel the same way about the Stephanie Plum novels- I'm not a Morelli fan, the dynamic between her and Ranger is more fun, and, like someone said last year about certain TV shows, the "will they or won't they?" is the big draw. Once counterparts become an official couple, everyone loses interest. So, it's always going to be Cam for me, and I'm sad for him. I'd really like to have seen him get a do-over.... and maybe that's why there haven't been any new books in the series these past 10 years... maybe three was it, and enough. That's ok, too. The crazy-insane drama of constant catastrophes was amusing at first, but I can see how that would get old, and since I think the author covered just about every possible disaster that could be done...

The writing is good but this was way too frenetic and "juju" for me!
Bobbie Faye grates on me as a character but there sure is no quit in her!
Good fodder for a "blow 'em up" movie I suspect.

Excellent book - funny.
I read this series in 2009. Re-read it again in 2014 - found the books and bought them in 2014, because the series was such a great one to read in 2009.
It keeps you on the edge of your seat through each book. Suspense, action packed, some romance, investigative, Bobbie Faye in danger all the time and who will some the crime or puzzle . . . read the books and find out. I laugh almost through the whole book, just funny how the author writes the characters.
I would recommend the series to anyone that loves comedy, romance, action packed suspense books.

When a Man Loves a Weapon is the third in the Bobbie Faye trilogy and just as wonderful as the first two. Some of my favorite lines of all time occur in these books and in this book, the author gives a wry nod to some author friends. Toni McGee Causey makes me laugh and chew my nails at the same time. The good news is that she added a novella to give fans one more peek at Bobbie Faye, Trevor, Cam, and the other wonderful misfits of the Bobbie Faye world. Bobbie Faye's Whacked Out, No Good, Really Sucky, Hot Mess of a Wedding is found in GUNS & ROSES, the anthology featuring the fantastic authors of the Murder She Writes blog.

Bobbie Faye ist endlich glücklich verlobt mit dem attraktiven FBI-Agenten Trevor Cormier. Der ist auf einem geheimen Einsatz. Er sagte er wäre nur kurz weg, doch dann ist er länger weg. Bobbie macht sich Sorgen und sucht Hilfe bei ihrem Ex-Freund Cam. Doch das ist nur die Spitze von dem Eisberg.
Nein, nicht schon das letzte Band ich liebe die Geschichten mit Bobbie Faye. Die Frau zieht nur so Katastrophen an. Sie tut mir auch etwas leid, das ihr das immer passiert. Das witzige sind die Kommentare von Personen von Bobbie Faye Umfeld die bei jedem Kapitel stehen. Bei manchen musste ich so Lachen. Allein dafür hat sich das Lesen gelohnt. Aber auch die Geschichte zwischen Bobbie und Trevor wird interessant, nicht nur das Trevor was verheimlicht hat, sondern auch ihre Beziehung zu Cam. Ich war einfach wieder in der Welt von Bobbie und für ein paar Stunden die Sorgen zu vergessen. Einfach nur die Abenteuer von Bobbie erleben und auf das beste zu hoffen. Natürlich läuft es immer gleich ab. Doch ist es jedes Mal anders und da es das letzte Band ist hoffe ich auch ein Happy End.

As a fan of the south and all the crazy quirky stereotypes that are associated with it I picked up the first book a few years ago and loved it. As soon as I was done I looked up when the next one was coming and counted down the days. Since then the author has changed the titles of the first two books, which I don't understand, but the books stay the same.
If you like a book that starts out running and doesn't stop until the end this is the book for you. Non stop action and hilarity are always surrounding Bobbie Faye. If you read the Stephanie Plum books you will like these as well only Stephanie Plum doesn't do near the amount of damage Bobbie Faye is capable of.
It seems to me that there is a little more sex in this book than in the previous ones but her relationship with Trevor has become more intimate so I understand it and really didn't mind it.

Liked this book. Recommended to me because I enjoy Stephanie Plum.
PROBABLY the closest series I've ever read that comes close to Janet Evanovich. (Lots have been compared, few come close.)
Not a huge fan of the sex. Totally skippable, which is nice. These are considered romances though (whereas Stephanie Plum's are mysteries) so I guess it makes sense. (I still don't have to like it.) blech!
Very fun. Crazy situations. She is not a push over though, which is good. She's going to give it her all! Set in LA which will always have a soft place in my heart. She's a crack shot with a gun and throwing knives. And she is true.

This 3rd book in the Bobbie Faye series keeps the ball rolling. It wraps up some open ends from Bobbie Faye's Family Jewels and answers the biggest question throughout the series. There is still plenty of action and lots of funny, snarky, kick-assiness from BF and crew. While it seems that the series is being brought to a close on this book, I really hope for another sequel. This girl is just too much to quit at 3 books. As I said in reviews on her previous books, this series would make a fantastic movie or TV series if done correctly and with a funny, snarky heroine that can deliver a Bobbie Faye line like she was truly living the life. I'm going to be on the lookout for TMC books in the future and I recommend that you do the same.

I would probably have liked this one more if the Bad Luck vs Bad Ass angle had come up before page 115 -- or if I'd read the first one (or the second) before this one and started out with that idea. Not realizing the main character had a bad luck issue, all the burned down buildings and gun fights that were brought up felt like bragging and someone a little too full of themselves. But I did still keep reading despite that, so it obviously had something even then. (If the author, editor, or publisher happens upon this: that's a good detail to bring up on the back cover for the newbies -- bad luck. Really, it changes the whole tone of the book.)
I will probably keep this one and re-read once I've collected the first two.
