I was given a copy by the author herself to give a honest review so here is mine ❤️ (Spoiler Free!)
The book starts out really well. Melody our main character is a young college student who works at a sub shop in her home town. Finn our male romance main character has been going to the sub shop for almost a year. Did I mention our boy is a Deputy Sharif (10/10 hotter then Hell!) Within the first part of the book it has good humor fun characters and more. The book started out strong but slowly towards the middle it didn’t hold my attention as strong so my brain read slower and slower. (I pushed through though!)
The story was well written had good characters and even a good plot plus villains.
Melody was not my favorite character but she did grow on me. She’s young and very new to the BDSM world and wants a Dom who can order her around and give her the attention and pleasure she seeks. (Finn did 1000% just that 😘🌶😘🌶😘🌶)
Melody kinda got on my nerves a lot with how she handle things, spoke to people at times or even rushed in on certain parts of the story. I also wasn’t a big fan with how quickly she discovered Finns secret within the beginning of the book. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying her humor and wit.
Finn had me immediately I loved him! He deeply cares for Melody immediately and his big bad 🐺 inside him also wants to claim dear Melody. Which I was all for!!!
The scenes are well written, the story is paced nicely and the plot kept me reading.
This is in no way a lighthearted read, it has heavy BDSM within its pages and a bunch of other surprises.
I cannot wait to dive into the next book. ❤️

This was a paranormal BDSM romance.
Melody is a college student who works at the Sub Shoppe. She thinks she is a sub but has no experience in the lifestyle. For the past year she has been flirting with a regular customer she and her co-worker nicknamed Big Bad Wolf.
Finn Caomhanach is a deputy sheriff, a wolf shifter and a Dom. He and his family moved from Dublin when he was ten to Maryland. He has flirted with Melody over the past year debating whether or not to get involved with her because of his background. He finally asks her out but they bump into each other at a BDSM club called The Den first. They spend the night talking and getting to know each other. Wonderful read, great characters with a sexy and very captivating plot
I thoroughly enjoyed this read it was a simply wonderful book with characters that riveted you to the paper and a storyline that was so well written that once I started reading it was impossible to stop until the end when I discovered the outcome.
The Big Bad Wolf who was a character that had the position as a Police Officer a job that he considered very important, Melody who worked at the local coffee house had been watching her “BBW” as she abbreviated it was very attracted to him but was far too shy to do anything, she would not even speak with him.
As they eventually spoke it was obvious there was a definite attraction between Finn and Melody and had decided that they would have a date, imagine her surprise when she met at a club with her friend and surprise, surprise Finn was a member. As she spoke with a few of her other friends she discovered that quite a few more people that she knew were also members at the D/s club.
I do not want to give away the plot for the story and I am sure that everyone will thoroughly enjoy this book as much as myself and will have to discover the outcome, you will not be able to put the book down until the end of the book when you discovered the outcome.

AMAZING! Right out the gate Ms. Hayes lands on both feet running. At first it took me a minute to get used to her style of fast paced writing but once I got it I was on board for all of it! I loved this story. It's cute and sweet and then things take a twist, one that you hoped was coming and it doesn't disappoint or stop! And what an amazing ride it is. There is love, passion, great sex, mystery and adventure. She makes magic and the supernatural believable, to the point where you can get lost and almost think this could happen. She builds a scene so well and characters so well you can relate and see it in your mind. You become invested. I laughed and I got teary. This was my first shifter romance and I am hungry for more thanks to her. Not only do I hope there will be more from her but also more of these characters.

This is the start the Her Unexpected Mate series each book will read as a standalone with an alpha who will risk it all to protect his mate from his own kind. Two people who notice one another daily but beat around the bush for a year each wanting something more but not brave enough to step out of their comfort zone. Finn sexy as all get out officer/shifter stops in daily to see his girl but has watched from a distance. Melody works in the sub shop that the cutest officer comes in daily, drawn to him like a moth to a flame but he hasn’t asked her out yet just visits and finally meeting at a BDSM club where the scenes are intense and hotter than hot. Finn finally asks her out where they get to know each other outside of work and continuing with the D/S relationship the chemistry continues to be intense, but Melody is beginning to see slight changes in Finn starting with his eyes changing colors often and she has started to dream of wolves happening more often. Finn isn’t a little afraid to tell her the truth about himself for fear of losing her, but he knows he can’t continue the relationship without telling her because he knows she is his mate and there is danger headed for her from his own kind and he will do everything in his power to protect her but mostly she needs to know what she is getting into being with him so expect some suspense, some BDSM, a shifter, but will she accept all of him, and will they get their very own HEA? .

Melody works at a sub shop, and this is where she meets Finn a Deputy Sheriff. Sparks fly between them but its takes them some time before they actual speak about something besides his order. When he asks her out she can't go because she has plans so they make plans for the next Friday. However, the night she is out with her friend at a BDSM club they find Finn already there. Finn sits down with them and ends up spending the night with Melody there. As they are growing closer Finn knows that her needs to share his secret with Melody or lose her but he is worried about how she'll react. Will Melody end things when she learns what Finn's secret is? Can they find a way to be together?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was a good story overall, although I felt it started off pretty slowly with a lot of repeat interactions and a lot of alluding to D/s but really nothing there either. It took a long time for the plot to really develop; and then in the last 1/4 of the book the action finally happened! If you read the first and last quarters of the book, you pretty much have all of the story. The 2nd and 3rd quarters are just filler material.

April 16, 2022I loved it, I loved the characters! Melody worked at a sub shop and she looked forward to seeing the tall, dark and handsome man that came in. That tall dark and handsome man is Finn, they both felt an attraction a pull to one another. Then to Melody's surprise they meet again at a BDSM club. I thought this book had the right amount of club action, steamy action, and just plain danger and action. This is a great story. Finn was just so alpha.

Interesting story
Loved the story. Werewolves and Lucas and a whole lot of love. She's a girl working in a deli and he's a werewolf. It takes him months to work up the courage to ask her out and sparks fly when they do. But trouble is brewing in the pack back in Ireland. The Lucas want everyone in their pack dead and when they fly back all back breaks out. I'll let you read the story to find out what happens. Very interesting story with lots of excitement and twists and turns. Good book.

I must be getting old. I’m just not interested in reading college age, immature heroines.
That and the little things
* He has been coming to the shop for nearly a year and suddenly develops an accent (that comes out when he is drinking)
* He is the Deputy Sheriff, for 8 years, been to The Den before but doesn’t seem to ‘know’ anybody
* Our heroine ‘thinks’ she is a sub….but has no idea on any of the world

I thought this was a steamy hot story I loved Finn from the start, but took me a little to relate to Melody. They had such great chemistry together as he teaches her the world of BDSM. I found this book entertaining and fun to read.

A great read. She wasted no time getting this story started.
I love the relationship between the main characters. The plot gets very exciting and the ending is amazing. I was on the edge of my seat. Then some happy tears. She did an amazing job bringing the story together.. I am looking forward to the rest of this series!!

I love the book! It had a really good story time and had some spicy scenes that made me blush so hard at times! It's been forever since I read a werewolf book but I was not disappointed with this one!!

I read this as an ARC and have fallen in love characters, the story, and their story. Hayes takes you a onto the world of Irish werewolves and BDSM in a way I didn’t know I needed till this book. Each book from the series can be read as a stand alone but why would you want to stop at just one?!

This was a great read. The characters were engaging, the plot was refreshing and there's lots of shifter spice! The whole series is set up to have you fall in love with all the characters. I would highly recommend it!!
