Beth

Dearest Xander,
Fate caught up with me and now I am destined to become a true Mayfield wife. I know my life will never be the same again, that I shall forever mourn the loss of what we had. I do not know how long I shall last in a life of servitude to my husband, especially when he finds out what I gave away to you. However, I regret nothing. I would do it all again. But I would also choose to leave, for, in the end, I did it to save you!

Live and love hard, baby.

Always yours, Beth.

Xander

Taken.
Stolen away from me.
If Beth thinks I’m taking this lying down, she’s delusional. I was never going to let him take her, but now that he has, there’s no way in hell I’m going to let him keep her. Even if I have to lay down my life for her, one way or another, I will save her.

Read the next book in the ‘Mayfield’ trilogy to delve deeper into a past Beth never even knew she had!

You'd think being a writer, I would find this an easy feat, but talking about myself always leaves me a little stumped. So, I beg for your forgiveness when I attempt to give you a little bit of waffle about me. I'm a mother, wife and primary school teacher, who has found a passion for reading and writing. It's become so addictive I no longer watch TV, instead I get lost in alternative realities and frequently lie awake in the middle of the night with random ideas for what to put my characters through next. Music is often my muse but I also love to include real life experiences in my books. I want people to be able to relate to my characters and to know that they're not the only ones to go through certain difficulties, anxieties or embarrassing situations. I like to think my stories are different from one another, some being romantic comedies whilst others are full of suspense. Hopefully you agree and will enjoy getting lost inside of my head for a while. My serving suggestion is to indulge with a side dish of something sweet, something comfy and where possible, a golden retriever to curl up next to.

Received as an ARC book...wow really blew my mind!! Some things were answered from the first book. However some questions will unfold with this book so It will add to the plot and twists you won't see coming. A fair warning have tissues available..you will need them in some places. Taylor will definitely take you on an emotional journey in this book highs and lows..a definite page turner, mystery, edge of your seat can't put it down book. It is a type of dark twisted read...with a forced marriage. There is a strong love and friendship bonds throughout the book. If it wasn't for those bonds it would be really hard for the darkness in the book...but this is my opinion. I enjoyed the writer's style in both books so far.

Picking up right where we left off, Taylor K. Scott has drug her readers even deeper into the Mayfield world and all you can hope is for it to crash and burn. I didn't like Oliver the first time around and this time wasn't any different. When you think he can't get any worse, he does.

The first book was tough for me to read. It was my first from this author and the excessive use of exclamation points and the crazy storyline with such young kids constantly tripped me up as I read. That said, I did want to see what was to become of Beth and Xander and this whole Mayfield deal. Plus, I was schooled by a grammar teacher who let me know that exclamation points aren't only for yelling. I digress...learning more about Mayfield and it's old-timey traditions also helped with these adult situations the kids find themselves in this time around.

Unlike book one, we are traveling from past to present learning how Mayfield came to be and how twisted they actually are. Beth isn't out of the woods yet and I hate to see what it's actually going to take for her to call herself a free woman. Things are messy with her and Xander trying to run, as well as stay alive.

Save You is more action packed than the first time around and as I said, gives more inside information to Mayfield. While I wasn't completely won over by this second book, I did like it more than the first and of course, we are left with quite the cliffy once again.

OMG! Wow, just wow!! I absolutely LOVE this series! I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book and it definitely did not disappoint! Just love the chemistry and love between Xander and Beth. I enjoyed being able to know the back story with Beth's Grandmother Rosalie and reading her flashbacks and how interesting it was so closely reflected the present day. The twists and turns with this book and series is just sooo good!

I could not put this book down and ended up reading it all in a day! And oh man that ending?! I'm anxiously waiting for the next book to come out to see what happens! <3.

Save You is a continuation of Xander and Beth's story. It is full of twists and turns, suspense, and a lot of dark secrets. Taylor Scott has me hooked on this trilogy!

Thank you to Taylor K. Scott for an ARC of the second book in the Mayfield Trilogy. All opinions are my own. Please check trigger warnings.

Alright, first off let me just say that this book was set up in such a way that we are able to see the past repeating itself in the present and I think it was done beautifully. The story itself begins with a prologue of a time before Beth came into the picture and like the first book, we get a glimpse into Oliver growing up. I love how Taylor did this because Oliver's character and the entirety of Mayfield are so dark and twisted, we need a little look into what made them how they are.

Without spoiling parts, I will say that Beth and Xander are reunited and are on the run from Oliver and Beth's grandfather, Carl Steele. It's during this time that we have chapters from both Beth and her grandmother, Rosalie (Carl's wife). The parallels between the two women are so heartbreaking, but in a sense gave me hope that maybe Beth will escape as Rosalie did years before.

Xander and Beth are forced to mature quickly in this book and it becomes less of a high school "I love you so much" story and much more of a heavy, all encompassing love story. As I suggested at the beginning, reading the trigger warnings is a must because there are several situations dealing with sexual, physical, and emotional assault along with heartbreaking moments of grief/loss.

You will hate Oliver, ache for all that Beth must give up, pray that Xander will once again be her rescuer and it will leave you wondering what the hell could possibly happen in this messed up world. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the conclusion, which I'm sure will leave me breathless.

We lead straight on from the first book where things were all left in the balance. Questions are answered and more information about this brutal and barbaric organisation Mayfield is drip fed to us, we have flashbacks from Rosalie, Beth’s grandmother and the only woman to ever escape the clutches of Mayfield explaining how, why and what horrific trauma she was objectified to and unfortunately how poor Beth’s future was mapped out before she was even born.

The events of this book are so traumatic for both Beth and Xander my heart was in my throat, these 2 have been through so much at such a young age. Decisions have to be made and Beth is so brave with what she does I can’t even imagine going through half of what she has had to endure. Taylor is such a wonderful writer that even in these dark scenes and moments we are given a little piece of clarity and hope that things will be ok.

Even though we have answers more uncertainty and questions are thrown into the mix, this is a thrilling but a heartbreaking story, and we are once again left wanting more. These books are all coming out in quick succession so you won’t have too long to wait and hold your breathe for the what I hoping will be a well deserved happy conclusion.

Please please please check trigger warnings on this one, it is dark Taylor is respectful in her writing of these but they are necessary for the story and for you to feel the pain and suffering of the characters, but they could be distressing to read.

The dark emotional rollercoaster continues.
NB: This is not a standalone, it is a continuation of Book 1 Mayfield: Save Me, which needs to be read first.
This second outing in the Mayfield trilogy is written with so much emotion. Ms Scott has portrayed such heart wrenching grief within these pages you will feel the pain in your soul.
We get a lot of Rosalie, the grandmother’s history, in this book told in alternative chapters through the first part of the book with the past and the present holding surprisingly similar parallels, but the book is ultimately the continuation of the relationship between Beth, Xander and Oliver and Oliver’s obsessive need for dominance and ownership of Beth and his lust for supremacy of the twisted Mayfield organization. While events in the book tore me apart emotionally, I found it hard to put down, Ms. Scott has me so invested in Beth’s story, as hard as it is to read at times, it is beautifully told and had me racing through the pages desperate to see what happens.
I am eagerly waiting for the conclusion and hoping Beth can, like her grandmother before her, find an escape from Mayfield and a life of love and happiness.

After reading 'Save Me', this story kept running through my head for weeks. So glad I was able to read part 2 'Save you'!

This part effortlessly picks up where part 1 left off. Beth is taken by Oliver to his house where preparations for their arranged marriage continue. Xander can't help but let it happen, while at the same time thinking about how to help her escape. Their moment comes just in time as Beth discovers she is pregnant with him.
Together they escape knowing that the world cannot find them because it puts Beth and their unborn child in danger.

Heartbreaking what happens next to Beth and Xander. The birth of their daughter, Rosalie, should be a beautiful moment but turns into such a sadness. Beth is taken from Xander and he has now become a single father.
I can't say more about it because that reveals too much.

This story is one of happiness until Beth gives birth to her child. Then one of intense sorrow and one of a sacrifice so great and out of love for Xander and Rosalie. Once again the author brings out the emotions in you with her words. Brilliantly written!.

First of all, Save You is the second book in Beth & Xander's journey so you HAVE to read Save Me (Book 1) FIRST! You know, there are times when I come across books where the second chapter slows things down making it the least favorite in my eyes which makes it super hard for me to continue on, but not Taylor K. Scott, nope, this book leveled up. Some of my questions from Save Me have been answered, but then I was also left with new questions making the wait for the concluding chapter torturous (& this book only released this week LOL). Beth & Xander are perfect for each other but try telling other people (like her family) that fact. See, the heart wants what the heart wants, but outside forces don't feel the same. I know I'm being vague, but seriously, I don't want to give anything away here and/or spoilers for Book 1. There are so many moving parts that the twists are coming in hot with a big kicker of betrayal & family dark secrets. I'm utterly captivated by this couple's journey & need the next book NOW NOW NOW! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Next installment in the world of 'Mayfield'. Even more action packed and heart wrenching than the first. Beth and Xander's story continues with Beth on course to becoming Oliver's dutiful'Mayfield' wife. Xander has to find a way to get her back. Will he succeed?
Interestingly, this time we have two timelines and stories to follow which gives us an illuminating insight into the way 'Mayfield' works. Beth's grandmother's story is practically Beth's years before with just some slight differences. History repeating itself. Dark stuff but gripping at the same time.
Warning: ends with a cliffhanger! So be sure to grab the last part as soon as it's out. I definitely will!!

This is the second book in this trilogy and Xander and Beth’s journey continues. This story continues from where book one ended. Beth and Xander have both endured so much in their lives, and he is determined to get Beth back, no matter what he must do to achieve this. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and with trauma, emotions, grief, hope, and love, which leads to a thrilling and heartwrenching addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This is the second book in the series and it picks up where we left off, with Beth being taken away by Oliver. We get more backstory on what Mayfield is and just how deep everything is entwined. Our main couple still has to contend with all the ties that threaten to tear them apart, and throughout the story they keep on pushing and pulling. I liked seeing the development here and I hope we get our HEA soon!.

Save You by Taylor K. Scott is book Two in the Mayfield trilogy. This continues the story of Xander and Beth so you will need to read the previous book 'Save Me' before starting this one. This does pick up where we left off with Oliver possession of Beth going further with him taking her. Beth as read felt no choice but to go further down the rabbit whole with Oliver. But Xander is taking it lying down and goes after her. This book does end with another cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment in their story. I am loving this trilogy!

So, I've finally stopped crying.
Probably cried on and off for half this book. Katie, your words give me the feels.
This book picked up right where book one finished.
My heart was in bits and hurt so much for Beth and Xander.
So many twists and turns. It was good to learn of Rosalie's life too.
I can't wait to get my hands on book 3. I have so many questions that need answering. That ending though 🤯. Jonah. Leo. Tom. Sadie. Annie. Bodhi. So many people I want to hear what they have to say!

Let me simply say that there isn’t another book that I’ve read that is like this!!

The first book in the series took me a good while to read but this one only took me a few days.

I’ve got to be honest the books are heartbreaking reads but I’m looking forward to the third!

The story follows on from the first book and gives you an insight into what Beth’s grandmother went through in the 1970’s when she was married to a Mayfield man.

I loved the parallel storylines with Beth and Rosalie in this one, I found them both intriguing and the strength in Beth to leave Xander and Rosie (I don’t mind admitting I was crying for a while.

These books are something special and so unique, I’d recommend them to anyone! You don’t have to be a romance lover to appreciate them.

This is another fantastic read by Ms Scott, and I can't wait to read the final installment. It's full of emotion, intrigue and action. I loved Rosalie's voice and how it compared to that of her granddaughters, and I loved the cliff hanger at the end - be it in a weep worthy and how am I going to get through the day kind of a way. If you want plenty of mystery and emotions, you have got to read this trilogy.

Absolutely loved this installment, the story picks up straight after the first and just chucks you straight back in. Lies, deception and secrecy to rival the best. Mayfield is on another scale but I am absolutely loving the story. The pov from Beth and Rosalie wove so well together and I can't wait to see what else is in store for the characters.

Totally worked out who K is though hehe

Loved getting some of the background about Mayfield and Beth's past. It was a welcome change to some of the other dark romances out there. Warning, parts of this book are a hard read and I'd recommend reading the author's notes before reading.
