Born into a policing family, Carol follows in their footsteps serving on the Toronto Police Force until love calls and she moves to Australia. Following a period of feeling unwell Carol is diagnosed with MS and life as she knows it changes forever. Resilient and determined, Carol believes she must embrace whatever happens on her life path and that is exactly what she does. She becomes a Paralympian and at an age when her friends are looking at retiring she is still training and competing (and winning!) against athletes much younger than her.
Just finished diving into 'The Force Within by Carol Cooke,' and I'm truly amazed by the resilience and courage depicted in her life journey! From the moment the doctor delivered the devastating news, suggesting her life was over, to the heart-wrenching suggestion of putting her affairs in order before becoming incapacitated, my emotions mirrored the shock of being hit by a bus.
This book is a testament to the human spirit and the power of perseverance. Through her own experiences, Cooke imparts invaluable lessons encapsulated in the FORCE: Be FEARLESS, Be ORIGINAL, REFRAME for RESILIENCE, Have the COURAGE to take a CHANCE on CHANGE, and EMBRACE the positives in life.
'The Force Within' serves as a beacon of inspiration for anyone facing adversity. Cooke's storytelling is both practical and uplifting, offering a guiding light for those navigating their own journey of self-discovery and resilience. A must-read for anyone seeking solace and wisdom in the face of life's challenges.
