Can he save her from his mistakes?

Not much bothers Wes Carter. Not the rotation of girls in his bed. Not the promotion he was supposed to get a year ago. Not even the new packmate he can’t take his eyes off. At least, that’s what he tells himself. Truth is no one’s ever affected him the way this beautiful but strange woman does, and he plans to find out why.

As an orphan, Emily King has lost a lot in her life. So, when she finds out the family she nannies for is taking a permanent vacation in Iceland, she’s not even surprised. She’s used to no one sticking around for long. With no job or place to live, she joins her brother’s pack hoping for a fresh start. But, what she finds is more family than she knows what to do with and a weird connection with one packmate in particular.

When a simple drink turns dangerous, Wes is finally forced to care about something: protecting Emily. She’s caught in the eye of this storm, and the fallout could be deadly. Can Wes save her from his past? Or is he doomed to lose the first woman he’s ever loved?

This book contains sexual themes and violence that is intended for audiences 18 and older.

I love her Southern Werewolf series - first the Shift, Howl & Rise, then the Sisters and now I'm on to the Enforcers! Great storylines and the writer really does a great job of making the reader feel the character's emotions, insecurities, sassiness, etc.

I will honestly say, the only thing that really disappointed me was that there was no mention of the youngest McCoy sibling, Evey, her mate Luke or his twins Mari & Maggie! Evey is one of my fave characters, is supposedly the sister than runs H.R. manages the budget and is responsible for the housing/assignment of rooms in the packhouse they all live in, yet in this book, Callie & Bea seem to be mentioned & Ms. Elsie is assigning Emily's room when she arrives instead of Evey? Evey not only doesn't appear, but no mention of her, her mate or the kids at all? Callie's & Abey's kids are mentioned, so what happened to Evey? At this point in the series, she & Luke had to have already gotten together because Matthias & Mack are back in Asheville and they only got together after Evey & Matthias broke up! I was hoping Mack got to meet Evey (especially after Matthias told her she's gonna love Mack) and there'd be more interaction with the cousins Matthias & Luke, especially after Matthias supposedly wanting to make up for lost time with his cousin in his own book! So what happened? No explanation of their disappearance! That's the only thing that disappointed me in this book! Evey's character was always the spitfire, dynamite in a small package & she may be the youngest McCoy, but she didn't let her brother & sisters push her around...I missed that character and I'm sure she could've given Emily's some encouragement! ;-)

But overall, still love the stories & will continue until I'm done reading all of them! Gotta say, I have to read them in chronological order, but really looking forward to Huxley's story - you must've saved the best for last! :)

I'm trying to read this really.
There should be a warning about reading the first book in the series, I felt like i was in the middle of a huge novel. There was little explaining about the back story.
We find out that Emily was a werewolf by one line. She is on the phone and she says if I hadn't had werewolf hearing I wouldn't have heard what was said.
A little more world building would have been nice.
So, in a info dump, 1. Emily is asked to moved to ICELAND, by the family she nannies, she says no, meets her life mate, sleeps with him and then goes to see her brother, before she is even out the door of her hotel she is offered another job. Guess what it is, as a Nanny. Wow
Everything seems work out with no effort on her part.
Info dump 2.
her parents died when she was young, lost her twin ( no mention of how she lost her twin) and was adopted by the doctor who took care of her at the hospital.
It is never said but I am assuming that Mathias is her twin. I could be wrong.
Her sister in law's name is Mac, but if you jump in to the series at book 2, might want to mention its short for mackenna.

The only saving grace and I had to listen to this part twice was when the MC who couldn't give her any space to think other then 20 minutes to unload her stuff from his vehicle is caught off guard when she says " I don't want to date you anymore then you want to date me!"
He is ready to drop her again but then she says this and boom he wants more. Really!?!

Sweet Read 💖

This was a sweet read and another enjoyable enforcers book.
This story follows Wes and if you've read the other books in this series you'll know Wes's twin brother Wyatt is with the Alpha's Sister Callie 💖
Wes is a bit of a playboy only looking for a good time and nothing permanent until he meets Emily the shy girl who infact is Wes's polar opposite still holding her V card.
After a drunken hook up Emily is left confused but Wes is left with feelings he's never felt b4.
Emily is determined to overlook his playboy past and give him a chance and Wes will do anything to keep her close.
When Wes's bitter old pack makes an appearance determined to take out the half breed they'll target Emily to get to him but they'll learn quick enough no one steps between fate 💖
Whilst this book can be read as a standalone i recommend reading the series is order 👌

Stand Alone? This book is part of a series with some ongoing back story but the couple’s story is completed in this book. It is recommended to read in order but can be read as a stand alone if you don’t mind unresolved back storylines.

The first book I ever read by Heather MacKinnon was so good I read it in a couple hours. I was too caught up to stop. This book was much the same. I started it before bed. I should have known better. About halfway through the book I managed to put it down and go to sleep but my brain wouldn’t stop with the story. After dreaming about it for a few hours, I woke up and ended up finishing the book before going back to sleep. 🤣

Wes and Emily had that magic chemistry. You know the one I mean. The connection that makes your muscles clench as soon as they meet because you can FEEL what they’re feeling. That is what woke me back up. That and the fact that there is absolutely NEVER a point in this book when SOMETHING isn’t happening. Be it progression on their relationship or progression on pack drama.

Warring packs and a supposedly dead stalker keep you reading for the pack story and that chemistry will keep you entranced in the romance.

This book is an action-packed, gripping adventure. Never a dull moment! Once you start you won’t be able to stop until the last word is read!

Happy Reading my Friends!

Finally, someone to settle the ever wild Wes! Emily thought she was just coming to see her brother and best friend. She needed to get away from all that was going wrong and regroup. Little did she know Wes would turn her world upside down - or is it make it right side up?

But it might all be ripped out from under them before it even has a chance to start, as the Ashville pack is once again challenged by another pack. Wes and Emily find themselves at the heart of the battle. How will fate play its role this time around?

Heather MacKinnon does a nice job taking the reader on a topsy turvy emotional ride as the story climaxes and comes to an end. Readers won’t be disappointed as they follow Wes and Emily’s intense, high heat, action packed story.

Another 5* werewolf romance read by Heather MacKinnon.
I can't get enough of these Asheville and Charlotte packs. I really love how these books are about certain enforcers finding their mates but how we still learn how the previous pack members are getting on and learning more about them.

Wes was always a plater.. different girl every weekend and wasn't shy in the slightest.
Emily is Matthias' sister, Mack's best friend, and was a nanny..and also seemed to be more shy and reserved. So for Wes to meet Emily and have him fall hard was a nice change.
I was a bit disappointed the way the book ended but I know it just means we're going to have some serious drama/fun to look forward to in the next book!

Beauty and The Reformed man-whore

I was all in!! I was in tears!! Literally, when they accepted thier bond. Best couple ever!

But Then... trouble comes a calling.

Does she tell her mate? NO!

Does she tell the Alpha? NO!

Her brother or best-friend? NO & you guessed it, NO!

Instead, she puts herself and the entire pack in jeopardy by running off on her own to do what exactly 🤦🏾‍♀️.

These women have NO faith in their bad-ass men!😎

Mac, I got. Let face it Beah or whatever her name was was a b.i.t.c.h! ( I am glad they left) She really thought she was save MATTHIAS! She was not out to save an entire clan of unknown members on her own like lil Mrs Footloose. Mac was on her own but had the good sense to PHONE A FRIEND!!

I absolutely loved seeing a softer side of Wesley. He has always been this cocky, not serious, love them, and leave them kind of guy. Him meeting Emily changed all of that for him and allowed who he truly was deep down to shine. This book was filled with steamy, romantic, funny, and a lot of action where the characters kicked butt and loving moments. I am the type of reader who doesn't feel the need to have a book be incredibly steamy. With that said, Heather Mackinnon turned up the heat in this one! This book grabbed me from the start and didn't let go until the very last page. This is a definite hit for Heather Mackinnon!

Emily, Matthias’s twin sister is coming to stay with him and his mate after losing her job. She breaks down on the way and Wes is going to pick her up. They end up stopping for a drink, only to have Wes have an altercation with someone from his old pack. When they arrive at Matthias’s place, they will cover up the fact they have been together. They are fated mates! When his old pack starts problems, they will involve Emily. And now they will have to fight there way out of the situation. Will Abraham be able to deal with the other pack? Their threats? Will Wes take the position Abraham offers as well?

This was an okay story. The writing was a tad too juvenile at times. I really hate it when the FMC is so strong and self sufficient then does something so stupid as meeting the villain to give herself up so he doesn't follow through with his threats.
Especially in this case where she's new to the pack and had no real knowledge of what's going on or real connections with the other characters except the MMC and her brother, neither of who the threat was against.
It was disjointed and unrealistic even within the parameters of the willing suspension of disbelief one must apply to the shifter world.

This series is what I would call "shifter light": all the characters are wolf shifters but the reference and impact of that fact on the stories are minimal, other than the "fated mates" element. Nonetheless, the books are well written, well-paced, steamy enough and overall very enjoyable.

Although the entire series- is described as a standalone, it is very much part of an over-arching world and therefore there are a few missing bits of information and explications. It doesn't stop you from following and enjoying the book but if you're not a fan of open-ended references and loose facts, you probably want to start back with the "original" interconnected series (Southern Werewolves).

Wesley is a player with apparently not a care in the world for anything or anyone. He'll go to great lengths to keep things that way, including volunteering to pick up Matthias' sister/ Mackenna's best friend (from book 1) to avoid a meeting with his alpha. Emily has lost so much in her life, the latest of which is her job when the family she nannies for moves to Iceland. She's scared of caring for someone, because "everyone always leaves in the end" and Wesley seems to be the worst possible option. Or is he?

En este libro vemos a Wesley y Emily, como ella va solo de visita con su hermano y termina estando en los brazon de Wes. Pero no todo es tan fácil como parece, hay peleas intrigas politicas y por supuesto mucho romance. Buen Libro.

-----------
In this book we see Wesley and Emily, as she goes alone to visit with her brother and ends up in Wes's arms. But not everything is as easy as it seems, there are fights, political intrigues and of course a lot of romance. Good book.

Another great book, by Heather! I've read all of the Southern Wolves books, starting with Shift and now Wesley. I cannot get enough of the series or the characters. The world building in this series is fantastic; from the fated mates lore to pack hierarchy and politics. Emily (FMC) and Wes (MMC) were such a great couple! I couldn't put this book down!

Wes is just a fun loving guy until Emily shows up in his life. I liked them as a couple but I do kind of get tired of the chick always putting herself in danger. It’s an old storyline but a well written book.

Wes and Emily for the win

Great book but left with lots of questions and if truth be told, disappointed that they don’t get a two book stint. Hoping answers will be found in the following books of this series.

This was a good fated mates paranormal romance. They are not aware of their fated connection, so it mostly plays out like a paranormal romance with spice and some danger. A good read.

Oh my! This book was amazing! These two are so cute together! I couldn't put it down. I literally stayed up most of the night just to see what happened next. There is action on every page. It is sometimes steamy and sometimes suspenseful. I can't wait to see what happens next with this pack and with these two! This is definitely a must read. I will recommend this book to all who love shifter stories! Give me more.

Wes & Emily: this book was better than the first for me. Emily is connected to the characters in the first book, Matthias and McKenna. she's Matthias' long lost sister and McKenna's best friend. Wes works with Matthias as another enforcer. when Emily has car trouble, Wes offers to go pick her up. he never expected the sparks to fly or that he'd want more than one night. while these two are navigating their attraction to each other, drama is unfolding with another pack. I liked that there was more character buildup on this book and that there was no other potential mate or girlfriend in the picture when they meet. the chemistry between them is off the charts and there's a little bit of fighting like action. really enjoyed.
