It feels like the end of an era finishing this trilogy, even if it took me a month to go through them all. This book offers an ending to the whole story, but all in all every book and every other page something happens that is butchering the lore.
In the first book, we get the lore that Cedric was alive since the Pangea and the creation of continents was basically the 7 hunting him down and creating problems for the humans. We are talking about millions of years. Those 7 were hunting him for his immortal life, which... guess what, the 7 already had since it is the original team that is hunting him down for millions of years. HOWEVER, apparently in this book, Vincent was living in the Fade until 100 years ago and apparently if he's there, the 7 stop hunting him. So... what happened in those millions of years? You never get a proper explanation why the prophecy with 12 random people would win over 7 all-powerful beings either.
Then, you get introduced to Fae and time travel in this book (and Shifters, which I was expecting, because of course we had to go through each of the races) and it gets as ridiculous as one could guess, so I am not even going to delve into it. I will only say that it astounds me how they decide to go to the past and confront Vincent, but then they get surprised when they realise that the future might as well change.
I can actually write an essay over the questions and lore destruction over everything it has been said, but I genuinely think the author never really cared about having a coherent story, as much as writing the scenes she wants. This book is the culmination of everything random and pure fanservice, though at this point the romance between Vincent and November is more of an idea of a reality. They have spent barely any time actually together, which was basically only in the 1st book, because in 2nd and 3rd they barely have any real scenes together other than just repeating how they long for each other. It's a prime example of obsessing over something you do not have so it becomes so big in your mind. Though, rake Vincent was a bit cute to see.
The characters were a bit more sensible in this book at least, which was welcome, but also almost no one was important. We got a new boy and girl (who seemed like a replacement for some dead characters) who were there only for plot tool to help November and that is all, really. Deaths continue being anticlimactic, but with the time travel we do not care anyway. We also see Vincent's father who apparently CAN move from Fade, but apparently did not bother before because it was not useful for the plot. It was funny to see also a millions old being acting as a child.
All in all, this was a REALLY entertaining trilogy in the sense that I laughed while facepalming every few pages!
