Win isn’t good enough to be a fighter.
Freya can’t read without getting in trouble.
And Ames is tired of all the lies.

All of them hate living in the peaceful city of Plutopia, a community where citizens are born into one of three classes—gold, silver, or bronze.

Plutopia is seemingly perfect. No questions are raised. No commands are disobeyed. Everyone is content.

There’s something wrong about it all.

All of them discover that Plutopia is not a world of harmony but a nest of deception.

And all of them will do whatever it takes to find the truth.

I loved this book. I was in a facebook writing group and the author was in the workshop. I don't believe that we interacted at all, but I like to support aspiring writers, so I bought it. This book exceeded all of my expectations.

I love the small chapters. The author has 3 main characters, and each chapter is narrated by one of the three. This made it easy to follow along. Instead of being forced to stop reading in the middle of a lengthy chapter I was constantly reading another. The chapters propelled the story forward in a way that left me wanting to know what was going to happen next.

The book is suspenseful, but not scary.
I rooted for every character and they were all someone I could identify with.

The author's style is neat and easy to understand and without the excess fluff that leaves me feeling like my time is wasted. The author does a great job of only including relevant information that propels the story forward. I loved the story so much I think I'm going to buy it for a friend.

I’ve known Chiang for about a year but just now got around to picking up this book and wow— it’s easily one of my all-time favorites.

I loved every character (though I gotta say Ames is my favorite), the writing style was beautiful, the world is fascinating, and I’m not ashamed to say that I cried a few times. This is gonna be one that I read over and over again.
