The internet is gone! And now everyone is forced to live in a world that is disconnected.
Twelve-year-old Ben Montana had a different life on the internet. His “real” life was found online. He could say and do things there that didn’t matter in person. It was great, and wonderful, and perfectly…miserable.
When the internet crashes, and severe hardships arise, terrifying events and trials force Ben into an adventure of real-world survival. In the end, Ben must confront what it truly means to be connected, and what it means to live.
The Broken Path is a stimulating adventure sure to entertain. Full of humor and poignant life-lessons, it is the perfect book for young adults and beyond. In a world absorbed by the internet, The Broken Path shows the path forward to rebuilding life – life in the real world.
"It's amazing how life can change from one extreme to another in the blink of an eye. Amazing and terrifying."
I thought it was a wonderful story. About half way through the book, I was to engaged. I loved the bear story and felt I was there fighting the bear with them.
It also demonstrates the power of God when things appear hopeless and how love can turn things around and out us in a different path. Not an easier path by no means, but a path that leads to greater rewards than thought possible.
I will probably read it again when I need my spirit lifted.
I felt many correlations to Covid lockdowns in the books. Though I think more of us became glued to our screens rather than disconnected. I love the growth of the mc and I enjoyed seeing such a self absorbed person learn how to care about others. No matter what you normally read, this book is worth the time.
While this book is intended for young adults, I enjoyed the read. It is a coming of age story of young Ben as he deals initially with the school bully and the breakdown of the internet, and slowly develops a true compassion for the suffering of others. I would certainly recommend this book. The ending invites a sequel???
