Shuzo Oshimi (押見修造, Oshimi Shūzō) is a Japanese manga creator. Drawn in a realistic art style, his comics tend to be psychological dramas exploring the difficulties in human relationships and often touching on disturbing situations and perversions. Oshimi debuted in 2001 with the manga series Avant-Garde Yumeko, appeared in Kodansha's 'Monthly Shōnen Magazine.' Most of his works since then have been published by Kodansha and Futabasha. Among his first successes the single volume manga Sweet Poolside (2004), later adapted into a live-action film, and the series Drifting Net Café (2008–2011), also adapted for TV. Oshimi reached international acclaims with The Flowers of Evil (2009–2014) and Inside Mari (2012–2016), both adapted into successful anime. Other notable works are Blood on the Tracks (2017–2023) and Welcome Back, Alice (2020-2023) .
It was over the top ridiculous and fun! If you go and try to find logic in it, you will make yourself disappointed. But, forget about logic, and just go for fun, and you will discover how crazy impossible it is! End was good too. This was the only way that solve all the trouble, so I really appreciate it.
Sometimes authors needs to let loose and make their heart's desires come true, I believe this was just that kind of experience for Shuzo Oshimi. And he did good.
But if you feel it as a disgusting journey, I wouldn't blame you either. Not all kinds of fun is suitable for every other person. And if you hated it, that is also okay. It's a freedom of choice, and everyone is free to choose. I choose to respect what author did here. That is all.
This was a wild read. It's over the top and nonsensical but a lot of fun. If you aren't expecting something deep and serious there is some enjoyment to have with this short series. I appreciated the ending too. Very different from the other works I have read by Oshimi. Some of the art towards the end was really good and there were some great 2 page spreads.
A crazy, over-the-top, bombastic, sexy/unsexy ending that had everything plus the toilet bowl. Being that it’s early Oshimi you need to look at it from that angle. It’s not a classic, but it was a fun ride to wacky world and shouldn’t be missed.
Wild ride this series turned out to be. To be honest it is completely nuts but I just kept turning those pages to see what happened next haha. It is really interesting to see how Shuzo Oshimi has grown and developed from this early stuff.
Amei como a história se desenvolveu melhor nesse segundo. Estava cheia de dúvidas e consegui entender melhor. Vamos ver agora essa vingança das súcubos.
A+ 100% recommend for any Oshimi fan. Interesting to see how insane and unhinged his earlier works are. It really made me appreciate how refined and beautifully subtle his newer works have become!
Es increíble como el mismo mangaka puede joderme un mes entero haciendo unos mangas increíbles y luego hace esta paja casi intragable pasada de vueltas
