Anna Delvey invented a fabulous new life for herself. Someone just had to pay for it.
Journalist Jessica Pressler tells the all-too-believable story of how twentysomething Anna Sorokin re-invented herself as the millionaire entrepreneur and investor Anna Delvey, and how the monied class of New York City gladly succumbed to her charms – for a time. When the bills came due, Delvey was in jail, friendships had been ruined, and there were hundreds of thousands of dollars missing.
This is the shocking true crime story that exposed just how easy financial fraud has become in today’s culture of fake news and glamorized luxury.
I've been fascinated by the story of Anna Delvey since watching the Inventing Anna series. Jessica Pressler's original article, now in book for really gives some interesting insight into how she was able to fool so many people.
I am not sure what this is. It's supposed to be a small book about Anna Delvey, but it is disjointed and frankly boring. I thought Pressler wrote for a living, yet, this book is not engaging at all.
I know this author has a book coming out at some point, but I hope the writing is better
A very easy and entertaining read. I bought this for my dad (who isn’t a reader, but loves stories about business conartists) and he loved it and finished it very quickly. A great intro to a very interesting story.
