MM Romances
Paranormal Anthology
2 Stars ⭐️

As far as anthologies go, this was pretty bad which is a shame because I was looking forward to it. I am so thankful for KU because I’d hate to have bought this. There are always hits and misses in anthologies but this one had too many misses for me and the editing was excruciating. (More on that later).

There are 8 stories in this and I only really liked 2 of them and even those 2 had issues.

Rogue Heat by Leeah Taylor was MMM but it was twins and the twins were not down with doing anything with one another much to my dismay 😂😂 so it didn’t read like a true MMM. I liked the idea of the Chaos and this one was a prequel novella to the series but did I like it enough to go look it up and read it? Not at the moment but this one actually kept my interest and I didn’t fall asleep.

Spellbound By The Wolf by Elizabeth Dunlap was the last story and the one I actually liked best. It was the shortest but I loved the forced marking, hot af sex between the lycan and the witch and the overall easiness of this read. I might even look into this author. Maybe.

However… ONE story I absolutely hated and all the rest I just felt mehhh towards.

Mistletoe Mischief by Faolan Kurayami needs editing and it’s not misspelled words or grammar issues but the actual character names! This one has a blurb before it and it states the main character’s names are Mischief and Noah but when I started the story some guy named Nick is mentioned quite often. I’m like who the fuck is this guy? It becomes obvious the author wrote the wrong name (Nick instead of Noah) and I went with it until I was in a paragraph where Nick and Noah are both mentioned as the same person. It’s bad enough the author didn’t catch this but the person putting together the anthology should have. Someone should have noticed and there were other characters named Alex and Axel that I kept confusing because they are too alike. I also felt like I was missing something the entire time I read this like there was another book I needed to understand this. This one was a 1 star ⭐️ for sure.

I read a review by a man named *William* and what he said was “This felt like the authors had to pay to have their books included” and I couldn’t agree more. E.M Lindsey has a story called The Librarian and I liked it at first especially the vampire aspect but then it devolved into rubbish and that’s how this whole anthology was. It felt rushed with stories no one put any thought into and that no one would really want to read. I’m used to stories in anthologies being cliffhangers or ending abruptly but these either ran too long like the first story or the book ended unknowingly with the next page being a new story. It was bizarre and definitely not a winner for me but on the bright side, it was very good for my insomnia.

Like most anthologies, there are hits and misses amongst the stories. Some are better than others. The theme of this group is paranormal. While a few of these stories were well-crafted, others were so badly written that it makes you wonder if the authors had to pay to be included! Even a marquis name like E.M.Lindsey submitted a less-than-stellar story that left the reader with a lot of unanswered questions. My recommendation is to pass on this book unless it is dirt cheap!

This book is fire! These stories are so awesome in this anthology I couldn’t for the life of me out it down . Right off the bat the first book of the anthology crossfire with the vampire and wolf shifter. So much chemistry between these two and so much steam as well. The tension between these two was tight . Yet Neo needed to help Carter because he knew deep inside he wouldn’t do what he was accused of. I’m glad things worked out in the end for those two, but wow it was a nice hot ending.

I read anthologies to find new authors. This one was meh. Just okay.

Crossfire by Quell T. Fox & Ariel Dawn - The best short story out of the bunch and I will be tracking down other works by these authors. Carter's a shifter in trouble and Neo is the vampire cop who is tasked with helping him and solving the case. The problem, Neo and Carter have a history which didn't end particularly well. I loved the dynamic between the two. Very well written. It had a very definite beginning, middle and end.

Rogue Heat by Leeah Taylor - MMM shifter story. Honestly, not my favorite. The characters were flat, the suspense nonexistent, and it didn't have a clear story arc, just seemed to cut off at the end.

What Happens with the Bartender by Keri Neelley- Again, very flat. Stilted language. No clear ending. Story sort of stops. Like someone got bored and decided not finish it.

Haunted by Victoria Gillilan - Cute but again, not a complete story. It read like a snippet from a bigger story.

The Librarian by E.M. Lindsey - Well written. Clear story arc. The characters were intriguing enough that I'd like to read full novels about each of them. My second favorite story besides the first Neo/Carter story.

Mistle Toe Mischief by Faolan Kurayami - There's alot going on in this story. Frankly, I liked the bad guys better than the good guys. Mediocre. Good first attempt though if the author has never written before.

Winter's Moon by Chrissie Angel & Melinoe Black - Way too short, and not a complete story. It basically introduces us to a wolf who disguises himself as a Fey and gets into a Fey ball, only to fall for the guy he is supposed to be distracting. It's a great start but it literally cuts off right after they hook up so there is no resolution there. Also for half the story both the main characters are tripping b@lls and that's not really my cup of tea.

Spellbound by the Wolf by Elizabeth Dunlap - Fey gets bitten by Wolf, Wolf is a bit of an @sshole. Just okay. I didn't like either of the main characters and I felt like this story was pretty incomplete.

Despite my issues, I'd recommend picking this up through KU for a couple of the stories. Otherwise, do not buy. Not worth it.

Do you like paranormal? Romance and mystery? This is definitely an anthology you want. It's full of steamy men, amazing stories that keep you going uh uh, wait who did it, what's going to happen next type of moments. There's vampires, shifters, ghosts and more. I can't wait for you to read this smoking hot omg anthology. It has something for all paranormal lovers. You won't regret it. The best part you get so many books for the price of 1, you can't beat that.
My favorite story is the 1st Crossfire hot, tall dark handsome reclusive vampire & a smoking hot werewolf. It gets better, already read this story twice. Neo is a supernatural detective brought in to investigate a series of human murders. The main suspect the man he left 10 years ago Carter. Is it possible bad boy Carter that loves his family and town has gone beyond bad? Is there a mystery at foot? What will Neo do when he has to face not only Carter but the reason he left 10 years ago?
Next is Rogue Heat, as far as the ones already rereading, Axel is destined to be Alpha but it's not suppose to happen for a long time. That is until a suspicious death changes everything. Axel, Ro & Dante are about to find out what the pack thinks of their relationship and will they accept Axel as Alpha? Will the Betas Randall and Bennett overthrow them? I hope I have you ready to jump in with me & enjoy Fire On Fire it definitely lives up to it's name!
I received an Advance Review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my own opinions.

Opposite Attracts

I enjoyed reading this series of love stories. From vampires, wolves, witches, fey, shape shifters you had a variety. Several of the stories weren't complete, so you were left to imagine the outcome. I would read some of the authors works again.
