Selena Wilde has been Lady of the Grove for many years, successfully keeping and passing on the knowledge, wisdom, and practices of the Ancient Way. She's trained Morghan Wilde to take her place when the time comes, and is living her life's purpose with gratitude and joy.
Until, that is, the wind brings on its wings the cries of a child, and her dreams take her places she'd never expected to go. The message is clear - she is needed, there is someone who needs her to hear them, and come to their aid.
A simple enough thing, perhaps, Selena thinks, but the call comes from far away and she must do the unthinkable - leave Wilde Grove. For the flow of her purpose must be followed wherever it leads and the wind's message must be heeded.
Includes the new Wilde Grove novella The Threading!
Follow The Wind is the first book in the second Wilde Grove series. It can be read before the first series or afterward.
Interesting and enchanting. I feel like this book has confirmed what I’ve learned/believed over the years.
“We’re going to ground ourselves,’ she said, slowing her breathing. ‘We’re going to touch the earth with our energy, clearing and cleaning from ourselves all the stale and stagnant energy we’ve accumulated and let it dissipate into the soil. For the earth beneath our feet is wide and deep and generous to us…”
This starts off with explaining about Selena Wilde and why she was so absent from the first 4 books. It is a prequal and think it was beautifully done. It starts with Selena following the voices in the wind and it takes her to lands a new. Rue is so relatable and i admire her strength and character when it comes to her little sister, with big gifts, Clover. I love the sense of community Selena manages to build , being so far away from home and the friends she makes along the way. Again i resonate being a practicing Pagan myself and it made me want to tap into that magic even more.
The first book in the sister series to the Wilde Grove trilogy is as good as the first novels. A light read stylistically, it has the same type of adventure, magick and love as the other books.
This can be read as a standalone, or after the original trilogy.
It was also nice to have a novella added on to the end which gives us a nice look back at Morghans past after Selena leaves.
Stories, people and experiences find you when needed
As a person who is deeply connected to nature and the world around me...not the busy ego mankind world, but the energetic world this book came just when I needed it. To remind me to find my people and follow my heart.
I liked this book but not nearly as much as the Wilde Grove series. It was very interesting to know more of what was happening before the Wilde Grove story starts. Great author; great teachings!
I love finding a book that I know nothing about and being drawn into the world that is within it. I love finishing a book that speaks to my heart. Rue and Clover are fending for themselves after their mother died. Their father is away most of the time and doesn't do much to provide for them. Child services have been made aware of their situation, but Rue is determined to keep Clover away from the "dog catchers".
Selena Wilde made a promise to her soul sister to keep her child safe. She leaves her Wellsford home and travels to New Zealand to find her.
One of those books you just can't put down and are almost sad when you have finished, because you just want it to go on forever. Katherine has an amazing style of writing
There's just something comforting and cozy about reading good Pagan/Witchy fiction, and Ms. Genet never disappoints. Another wonderful story in the Wilde Grove world.
Almost DNF'd. Starts super slow and I really didn't see it getting better, decided to wait weeks to give it another chance and it does pick up and get better
As with all Wilde Grove books this one is full of magic and solid characters. It is the first one about Selena and it introduces us to the changes and sacrifices she is asked to make following her path. I love the rooted in everyday life feeling that is weaved with real magic and otherworldly connections. I can’t wait to read the next one.
