Pack of Princes #1

Alpha Enchanted

Rate this book
All he wanted was a book of fairy tales . . . now he has a chance at his OWN Happily-Ever-After.

Madeleine Dupré never put much thought into her father’s collection of dusty old books . . . until he calls on her to deliver a rare, old volume of fairy tales to an American buyer. The omega heiress expects the trip to be a momentary detour in her carefree life of luxury, but the alpha book dealer is nothing like the tweedy old man she imagined: handsome, charming, and . . . her destined mate.

John Prince would do anything to save his floundering rare book business. When a contact abroad offers to sell him the centuries-old book of fairy tales a wealthy client needs for his collection, John knows this is a chance of a lifetime -- even before he realizes the courier is his fated mate. Destiny itself has delivered the beautiful, seductive omega to him . . . how could he resist?

An instant spark grows to a passionate flame, but when they learn it wasn’t fate that orchestrated their burning romance, will the fire consume their kindling relationship–and the priceless book that brought them together?

"Alpha Enchanted" is the first sweet and steamy standalone novel with a guaranteed Happily-Ever-After in the series, Pack of Princes.

**Author’s Note**
The Pack of Princes series takes place in a human Omegaverse setting. There are no shifters in this world, but there are alphas, betas, and omegas. Widely available suppressants and scent blockers mean that alphas and omegas can live like betas, and for the most part, they do. People in this universe have largely left behind antiquated beliefs and crude practices like fated mates and claiming marks . . . unless they’re into that kind of thing.

And the Prince brothers? They are . . .

They hope you are, too!

** 2.5 stars for continuity **

I read and enjoyed the first book (which takes place after this book), both the first and the rewrite. That being said I if you read this book having read the first book, you may be just as confused as I was. Reading without having read the other book, you should be fine.

Events told in the prior book don't meet up with what is being expressed in this book. It's a though an alternative timeline is taking place. In this book, Jake doesn't meet Madeleine first, the Prince parents are still alive, and John started Prince Rare books not the father. A while sequence of events that was mentions in Omega Unlocked never occur, never exist, just never are.

It's a steamy enjoyable read as a standalone, but it was ruined for me a it didn't match up with what the author hinted as happening in the prior book. I like continuity. It's just me though. If your going to change your mind, do it during the re-edit and put those changes then to set up the next book to flow. That didn't happen. .

In a place where most people take drugs to suppress their dynamic, Madeleine, the female omega lead, is sent as her father’s courier to take John, the male alpha lead, a rare book. She has never used suppressants but he currently is. They’re drawn to each other immediately and she knows what it means but he doesn’t quite…

This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a great prequel to the series. I enjoyed Madeleine’s agency and aggressiveness, pushing for what she wanted/needed, even though she is an omega. And John is an adorably passive alpha until she got him in the right place. I enjoyed this story even more than the first in the main series because these characters were so cute together!

This is the second book in the series but it predates the first book and it is the story of the Prince brothers parents.
Madeline travels from her home in France to America to deliver a family book to John Prince.
It is a lovely novella love story which I enjoyed reading. The world where the story is set is very interesting with Alphas, Omegas and Betas but no shifters. In the alternate America people take suppressants to both hide their scents and control their natural urges.
I did prefer the first book in the series as there were more characters and dynamics in play, however I did enjoy this book and it gave further background into the world and the Prince brothers. I am very much looking forward to the next in the series.

Don't judge Kent entirely by this title. It ain't great. The omega-verse inside it is a suppressed version, and people who like omegaverse love stories obviously want that different world as a proud driving plot device. Because of that difference, this text is weird to begin with. But when you also add in that these characters are in short story format, so their depth isn't there...it's just not great.

Definitely take a look at her Pack Promise/Pack Prize duo, because those two are choice.

Happy reading!

“What they said about omegas… I knew in that instant that it was all true.”

Although this is the second book published, it’s actually the prequel to the first, “Omega Unlocked”. This is the love story of Jack’s parents and it was wonderful, even better than the first. As much as I loved Jack, I loved his father, John, even more. He is everything a woman could ask for. I was a little concerned I wasn’t going to like Madeleine. She seemed arrogant and self-centered at first. But Jack brought out nothing but the best in her and I grew to care for her a lot. I was so happy they found each other and fell in love. The end left a soft glow in my heart. There’s a note at the end that another book is due out soon, “Omega Embraced”. I don’t know if it will be another book in the past or if we will finally get Charlie’s story and to be honest, I don’t care. I’m just happy to hear there’s another to look forward to. I am totally in love with the Prince men.

Alpha Enchanted is the prequel to the Pack of Princes series and tells the story of their parents, John (H) and Madeleine (h). This novella details how they met and were attracted to one another, and how John Prince was led towards the traditional Alpha-Omega dynamics (true mates, claiming, mating marks, heats, packs, knotting) based on his relationship with Madeleine. Their story was interesting and was a nice light read - not a dark, heavy Omegaverse work. It was a little odd reading this story after Omega Unlocked, as that book has some very specific details regarding ages/years passed for John and Madeleine's lives which meant you kind of know what the future holds for them, which clouded my view of their HEA (in this book). If I had a do-over, I'd rather read this first and then move into the rest of the series.
