CCC kids are finally in their last year of elementary school! And unfortunately, for a month or so, they have to stay at home and rely on their internet connection for school…especially since due to some construction issue, the students have to do school from home (how very clever, considering how this is how things have been done during the pandemic the past couple of years). And things get interesting for the kids when a mysterious person, no face or name, keeps joining their classes. At first, they decide to ignore this person, but weird things start happening… what does this person want? Is this even a person?? It is time for CCC to open a case.
This book got me hooked from the first chapter. I was so curious as to how the title came to be with that opening. And even though I wish there had been more to the backstory, I was pretty satisfied with how it went. This was a fun read, and again, I now got a bit scared of something I would never be scared of before reading this book.
But the love the writer had poured for his characters, how he preserved them well and let their characters grow organically … made me happy. Their interaction was also very entertaining, and halfway through the book I remembered what had made me miss the characters so much: their friendship and their strange bond.
They also keep making new friends! I adore the friends! In this book, a girl named Lintang won me over. Her character is super cool.
Children would definitely love this story. I’m not a child and I enjoyed this thoroughly. And oh boy, I highly recommend this series to everyone who wants some horror, mystery, and three new friends.
CCC has done it again. What a fun CCC-from-home it was. I cannot wait for more!
