Crashing #1-3

Crashing Box Set

Rate this book
This is the boxed set of the first three books in the Samantha Wayland’s Crashing Series. This is sexy, slightly kinky romance series with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and all the HEA anyone could want.

Crashing the Net
Dumping gallons of lube on the new kid is just another day at the office for Alexei. He knows exactly who he is: a goalie on the ice, a prankster in the locker room, and a man who knows better than to share his private life with anyone. He’s let people in before and it’s taught him that if he can’t have what he really wants, it’s better to be alone.

Mike is broke, bruised, and covered from head to toe in cheap lube. All he wants is to keep to himself and play for the Ice Cats. What he needs, though, is another matter entirely.

Checking It Twice
After four years with Alexei, there are things Mike knows with absolute certainty: he loves Alexei, Alexei loves him, and Alexei gives the very best gifts. This Christmas is no exception, though Mike is having a hell of a time figuring out what, exactly, Alexei’s gift is.

Alexei knows his gift this year is going to blow Mike’s mind, but in the meantime, it’s pretty hilarious watching Mike try to figure out what it is. Granted, Alexei does have a lot of surprises in store for Mike this week, and it sure as hell isn’t frankincense and myrrh.

Changing the Rules
Alexei and Mike have been together a long time. They’re getting married. They can go a few nights not sleeping next to each other, right? For the sake of the team, Alexei is going to try.

Mike can’t stand not sleeping next to Alexei, and it turns out sleep deprivation makes him overthink things he wasn’t planning to think about at all until the off-season—like the fact they’ve been engaged for over a year and haven’t set a date.

Samantha Wayland

Samantha Wayland has three great loves in life; her family, writing books, and hockey. She is often found apologizing to the first for how much time and attention is taken up by the latter two, but they forgive her because they are awesome and she clearly doesn’t deserve them.

Sam lives with her family -- of both the two and four-legged variety -- outside of Boston. She is a wicked passionate New Englander (born and raised) who has been known to wax rhapsodic about the Maine Coast, the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont, and the sensible way in which her local brethren don’t see a need for directional signals (blinkahs!).

Her favorite things include mango martinis, tiny Chihuahuas with big attitude problems, and the Oxford comma.

I liked this one.
Normally I don't like reading about people who claim to be in love and then add a third. However this time it worked out well. Both Alexei and max weren't interested in Eric for more then a seks tool. Although Alexei made sure Eric got something out of it as well it never felt like cheating.... Which to me feels a lot of the time when they claim love and then just sleep around.

I wished the first book was longer. The part with his sister and parents seemed so unresolved.....
Did he every talk to his parents?
Was the reason he kept paying his parents actually his fault?
Because if parents make the decision for a young max who isn't supposed to see far reaching consequences keeping that over his head isn't okay.
Did he keep paying his parents?
Also in book 2/3 they suddenly have a big company next to their hockey careers. But when it started max was broke and Alexei only had several buildings. So what happened. Did max actually buy in? Or is it all Alexei's money?

Ohh and I dislike that we didn't get to see the wedding. But where in most books I would really hate that, here I was okay with that because the book actually felt complete!

My Audible Review!!! Absolutely love this hockey series and Michael's narration just brings all of these guys to life! His Alexei must be heard by all! Alexei and Mike are two hockey guys with a slight age gap who fall in love and create such a wonderful family of friends and teammates around them! This box set takes you from the beginning through their romance which is very unique! They are just perfect for each other! I highly recommend listening to Home & Away and Poetry in Motion as well to round out the entire experience with all of these absolutely lovable guys. The fun and love that connects all of these couples is endearing and heartwarming and you will become immersed in this world! Oh, and did I mention.. Very Fun and Sexy filled!

The sexy times in this series are 🥵🥵🥵 and very good. It was a little slow to get started but I enjoyed reading as these two got together and how their relationship develops over the years!

Definitely interested in reading the other books in this universe to see some other characters find their happiness!

So readable, so likeable! Mike and Alexei are a great couple. (and as with Home & Away, I love their apartment/chosen family)

None of the stories seem fully complete and too big of time skips between them for the series to feel cohesive

Reads more like one shots of the same characters
