The is a Fake Dating Cowboy Romance, and this is the first book in the Devil's Bluffs series. I really enjoyed this book, and I loved the characters so much. I found the beginning of this book funny and cute, and this book pulled me into the story from the beginning. This book does get steamy at times. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (Stacey Kennedy) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Terrific friends-to-lovers story!

Adeline is back in her hometown just to write a follow-up story on the hot cowboy she'd always crushed on as a young girl. Colter is still reeling from his divorce, has no time for big-city women, and hates that the New York City article naming him "Texas’s sexiest bachelor of the year" has resulted in him being constantly pursued by women from all over. Adeline is a refreshing change, a gal he fondly remembers as his younger brother's babysitter, now all grown up but not at all like the gold diggers haunting his every move.

Adeline is determined to get an exclusive interview with Colter, no matter how reclusive he wants to be these days. But still, she's stunned when he agrees to trade that interview for her cooperation as his fake girlfriend to keep the hordes at bay. What does she have to lose?

Things quickly escalate in a small town where rumor mongering is a cherished sport, forcing Colter and Adeline to spend far more time together than they'd ever planned. Which works beautifully for their relationship, but not so great for their long term plans. Even so, I loved how the story focused on their friendship first, their attraction second.

I adored the pacing of this story, how things smoothly progressed in both heart and heat. I adored the delightfully satisfying encounter with the ex, and loved even more the follow up meeting that set things right. There's a bit of tragedy, though not completely unexpected, and it was perfectly timed to both separate them and eventually bring them back together.

This is a well-thought-out story with compelling characters and an intense, realistic storyline. I loved every bit and highly recommend it for anyone who loves contemporary cowboy romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Colton Ward is the most eligible cowboy in Texas and hates the attention. Adeline Harlow is back in her hometown to interview Colton. She meets him at a bar and saves him from some ladies out to get his interest. They strike a deal; she gets the story, and he gets a pretend girlfriend. As time goes by, they seem to be more and more attracted to each other. Both have issues and must work thru before the HEA.
I love this story and look forward to the next book.

***Read for the Farmer's Market prompt of Romanceopoly(yay, ranchers!).

This was a lot of fun. Adeline, a reporter from NYC, came back to her hometown in Texas to do a report on Texas's sexiest bachelor, who just happened to be her high-school crush. For his part, Colter was sick of the attention and the two agreed to a fake relationship. These two communicated extremely well, had a wonderfully balanced relationship, and both had familial and past issues to deal with. Parts were hard to read especially when it came to Colter's dad's Parkinson's and dementia, but amid all the emotion was humor. This was just a fun, fast, and emotional(too lazy to look for synonyms for that word)read, and I definitely recommend it.

This book honestly deserves a zero, but by virtue of not being unbearbly horrible it gets a two.

It dragged, and it was incredibly predictable, with bland (and sometimes downright unlikeable) characters. The "fake dating" plot barely lasted before they were really dating, but they still spent the next half of the book angsting about not being able to be together (?). Not fun, not sexy, and often awkward.

Most Eligible Cowboy: A Western Fake Relationship romance by Stacey Kennedy is the first title in her new Devil's Bluff series, and what a great way to kick off a new series. It gets 4 stars from this reader.

Adeline Harlow grew up in Devil's Bluff, the only child of her single mother. She decided early on that she wanted to be a journalist, and after high school and some on-the-job training at the local newspaper, she left Devil's Bluff and moved to New York City to pursue her dream. As a young girl, she used to babysit Beau Ward, younger brother of Colter Ward, who was the subject of her major crush. She's now bucking for a promotion at her job in New York, and she wants to interview Colter Ward who was voted the Sexiest Bachelor in Texas that year. As his sexy photo got out, he's been besieged by women from all over, but one year after a nasty divorce, he just wants to be left alone--at least until he's approached at the local bar by Adeline, now a stylish and beautiful woman. She's going to be in town for two weeks and she desperately wants that interview and that promotion. She and Colter come up with a plan. She'll pretend to be his fake girlfriend to keep the other women away from him, and he'll give her the interview she wants.

One other reason Adeline wanted to get out of New York was that less than one month ago she discovered that the man she was engaged to marry, Brock, was having an affair with his secretary, and now he keeps calling and texting her--she's done with him and ignoring his attempts to communicate. Her fake relationship with Colter will also hopefully prove she's over Brock, but will the attraction she's always felt for Colter, and his new attraction to her move from a fake relationship to a real one? You'll just have to read this sometimes sad, always enjoyable, and sexy romance to find out. I'll be looking forward to the next book in this series, which I think will be about Beau Colter and Adeline's best friend, Nora. All in all, a very good read!

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions stated are my own.

Stacey Kennedy's Harlequin debut is sizzling and on point! With the first book in her brand new Devil's Bluff series Kennedy delights her readers with a friends-to-lovers/fake romance remix and I enjoyed every scintillating moment! Great characters, well developed back stories and just enough sweet small-town romance feel to pair with the steamy character development to make a well rounded romance. I'm looking forward to visiting Devil's Bluff often!

Colter Ward is down-to-earth and kindhearted and just a downright sweet kind of guy. He's being pestered by women all over town after a pesky article named him a catch and he's willing to try anything to get some peace and quiet again.

Adeline is sweet and sincere and isn't shy about stepping in to help Colter out while guaranteeing herself a juicy byline. I enjoyed the layers her character unraveled as she processed her past and opened herself up to her future.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a fast paced, witty connection between friends and lovers as they slowly let their guard down to accept true love into their heart.

Reading this reminds me why I love category romance. This was the perfect slice of spice I needed in this moment. Great Characters, unexpected emotions and a HEA that will live in my heart for a while.

If Stacey Kennedy writes it, I read it. I have always enjoyed her stories. Colter and Adeline are great characters. Timing was everything for them in this book. They were just what the other needed in the right moment at the right time in their lives. The past connection that brings them to this point with just enough familiarity to create a dynamic HEA.

If you are looking for a quick and spice ride with a swoony cowboy you should absolutely check out this title!

I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.

Most Eligible Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy is a western romance. It's the first book from the Devil's Bluffs series.

Colter Ward had a nasty divorce and came back home to Devil’s Bluffs. His first year back he was named Texas’s sexiest bachelor of the year after a photograph of him saving a calf from a rapid went viral. That title caused him a lot of unnecessary problems with women. Adeline Harlow was working for the blog that gave him that title. Her editor wanted a follow-up story about him and she was willing to do anything to get it since that was the only obstacle between her and the promotion she was after. Colter wanted to have his quiet life back so he made a proposal. She would pretend to be his girlfriend and in return, he would give an interview. It seemed like a simple plan but when emotions got in the way things became complicated...

It's such a fun and romantic story. It's a nice mix of cowboy romance with a fake relationship. The story is fast-paced but it's also well written. The plot is engaging and entertaining so it holds your attention from the beginning till the end. The characters are very likable and kind of relatable. I loved their interactions and my favorite one was their first meeting at the bar.

If you love hot cowboys and strong female heroines then this book is for you. I will rate it with 4.5 stars.

Terrific book. Colter has been having a tough year. He's still reeling from his divorce, his father's health is rapidly declining, and since he was named Texas's Sexiest Bachelor, the women won't leave him alone. He can't even drink a beer at his friend's bar without constantly being propositioned. As the book opens, he's unsuccessfully trying to drink in peace. Just as he's chased one woman away, another appears at his elbow.

Adeline has returned to her hometown to write a follow-up story on Colter. Years ago, she was his little brother's babysitter and had a massive crush on Colter. She hopes to use that connection to get the story that will guarantee the promotion she wants at work. She's also happy to get out of New York for a while, away from the memories of her broken engagement.

The first meeting between Colter and Adeline had me laughing out loud. Colter's frustration is evident as he deals with the woman coming on to him, only to be accosted by yet another woman. But this one is different. Her reaction to Colter's nonavailability statement was hilarious, and his response to who she was set the tone for their relationship. I loved their conversation about her determination to get the interview with him and Colter's flash of inspiration on how to help them both. It didn't take much to convince Adeline to pose as his fake girlfriend in exchange for the interview, but neither expected the surge of attraction as they sealed the deal with a kiss.

I loved watching their relationship develop. Thanks to the Olympic-level gossip chain in the small town, Colter and Adeline find themselves spending more time together than expected. Their friendship grows as they find they have a lot in common, and their attraction grows along with it. I liked the scenes where they opened up about their pasts, fears, and plans for the future. But the more time they spend together, the harder it is to remember that the relationship isn't real and that Adeline will be headed back to New York.

Just as Colter and Adeline begin to realize the truth of their feelings and consider possibilities, tragedy strikes. Colter's fears and guilt come rushing back to the surface, and he pushes Adeline away. I wanted to shake Colter for his jerky behavior and felt that he deserved the misery he felt. Both have some serious thinking to do about what they want and some past issues to confront before they can move ahead. I loved the ending and the result of those actions. It was great to see that both Colter and Adeline were willing to make changes, and I loved how they worked out the perfect solution.

I loved Adeline's twist in her follow-up article on Texas's Sexiest Bachelor. I didn't see that coming and laughed out loud at the results. The final chapter is a terrific lead-in to the next book, and I can't wait to read it.

Stacey Kennedy’s Harlequin debut brings the heat in this captivating, charming, entertaining and sizzling hot, friends-to-lovers/fake romance! This is the first book in her brand new Devil’s Bluff series. Great down to earth characters with a immediate attraction that captured my attention and soon I couldn’t put this story down.

Colter Ward’s life had been hard after getting divorced, but when an article from a gossip blog out of New York City named him “Texas’s Sexiest Bachelor of the Year”, he had women showing up and chasing after him and his family’s millions. All of this unwanted attention grated on his nerves, he couldn’t even get a beer at his friend’s bar without women hitting on him. And then she showed up with a simple request.

Adeline Harlow has been going through her own personal problems lately, after catching her fiancé cheating on her, she broke off the engagement and she has been feeling crushed, confused and lost lately. So it felt good to get out of NYC and come back to her hometown, when she was offered a chance at a promotion if she could get an exclusive follow-up interview on Colter. She hoped that the interview was in the bag, since she babysat his little brother. But Adeline has a tiny secret when it comes to Colter! Since she was twelve he was her secret crush.

So when Colter finally agrees to give her a exclusive interview it was with the stipulation, that she agrees to be his fake girlfriend to keep all the women at bay. How could she say no to that?

This is Colter Ward and Adeline Harlow story and I loved their connection. There are moments in this story so angsty as well as moments sweet and tender I melted. There’s no shortage of push and pull or side drama which had me glued to every page. There is also humor and hilarious banter between them. It’s passionate. It’s swoony, and hopeful. It’s captivating and addictive. I adored how all that forced proximity brought the heat and the heart together. Such a great story and I loved every minute of it.

I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

Colter Ward has found himself in quite the predicament, he's just been named Texas's Sexiest Bachelor and now he hasn't a moment of peace to himself. Every unattached woman is crawling out of the woodwork and showing up on his doorstep, and keeping him from his work on the ranch.

Then a miracle of sorts happens, an old friend shows up on his doorstep asking for a favor, so he decides to oblige her... with a little favor of his own!

Most Eligible Cowboy is a entertaining and captivating faux to real romance that will leave your heart skipping a beat! Colter Ward has just been name Texas's Sexiest Bachelor and he can say with certainty that the title is doing him no favors, he doesn't need a woman, and definitely doesn't have time for a relationship. But he can't very well come out and say that as his family is very well liked in the community, and bringing bad press is the last thing they need. But then an old friend shows up on his doorstep and they strike up a deal that is supposed to favor both of them, and it'll give him the escape he needs from the never ending line on his doorstep. But it also gives him something he never thought he'd find again... real love!

This wonderfully penned romance checked all the boxes for me, it was good for my heart, thoroughly entertaining and gave me a new cowboy to soon over!! Highly recommend!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

In Devil’s Bluff, Texas

Coulter Ward is unquestionably a sexy cowboy, but he has so much more going for him. He is man who respects connections to family, even when things happen to change his life’s course. Will Coulter be willing to give his heart again?

Adeline Harlow is a delightful heroine who seems a bit lost with herself. After her ex cheated, Adeline went home to Devil’s Bluff, Texas. What she didn’t expect was seeing the reason her mother took her to New York City to live.

Coulter and Adeline both have personal obstacles to clear in their lives in order to see if they can work. Ms. Kennedy thank you for the down to earth characters in Most Eligible Cowboy, I felt like everyone could relate. It’s hard doing what’s best for the family at times.

The supporting characters are just as amazing as the main characters, all so giving even when Julia and Brock had my hackles rising. *Grins* Now let’s talk about Beau & Nora will they or won’t they? (Raises eyebrow)

Most Eligible Cowboy is Author Stacey Kennedy at her best, she captures on many different levels of life and family, the joys, love and loss. I can honestly say there will be a few tissue moments. What a grand way to start off The Devil’s Bluff Series.

Delightful Fake-Boyfriend Romance!!

Colter has returned to Devil’s Bluff to run the family ranch due to his father’s failing health. He has been tagged “Texas’s sexiest bachelor” and wants relief from the fortune hunters. Adeline grew up in Devil’s Bluff, but now lives in NY. She is sent to get a story on Colter. They strike a deal; she gets her story and a promotion, he comes off the market with her as his girlfriend.

Both have been burned, both are good people. Colter was actually Adelines HS crush - but she was shy and remained in the background. Both are in for a surprise.

Colter has much more than good looks going for him. Adeline is no longer “invisible”. Every word she’d said during dinner surprised him. She was funny, cute and fascinating - nothing like he remembered, the awkward, shy kid who’d barely acknowledged the world around her.”

I totally enjoyed this story - it is romantic, and a great example of overcoming obstacles.

Most Eligible Cowboy is the terrific first new book in a series by Stacey Kennedy. Adeline and Colton have a great second chance romance. The story starts as a deal for a fake relationship. Adeline is in town to write a file up piece on an article that named Colton s Texas’s most eligible bachelor. Adeline wants a follow up story, and he wants women to leave him alone to work on his ranch. Colton comes from a good family that gives back to the community. Adeline sees that her high school crush has turned into a good man. Soon sparks fly, and they realize that they are really good together. Their journey is sweet and sexy, and it will leave you with a smile on your face. I really enjoyed this book. I tore right threw it, and I was disappointed for the words to end. I can’t wait for the next book starring Colton’s brother.

Colter and Adeline were fun. I enjoyed this one for all sorts of reasons, the plot, the characters, the way it was written, all of it worked for me.

I can't lie, fake relationships are one of my favorite tropes, and I really enjoy watching people figure out the things they want are right in front of them and are probably the very things they have been fighting against.

And, giving an interview to a reporter about anything, much less about being the sexiest cowboy, is the last thing that Colter wants...so, making the deal with Adeline is definitely not on his list of things he wants to do, and that made it even more fun.

Their chemistry was amazing and I enjoy and recommend this title.

This is a sweet and fun story. A fake relationship that soon turns into something more but is it enough to bring these two together?

Colter and Adeline make a good couple and I enjoyed watching them find their way. Colter is a good man and Adeline is a strong woman. Each have their own issues to deal with, yet together they are able to stand against everything. When the two make a deal that helps each other out, emotions soon come into play. It was nice to see the way the two interacted and how they were ready to fight for what they longed for. Not only do we get Adeline and Colter’s romance but the supporting characters have a lot to say as well. This story is a wonderful read full of strong characters and an engaging plot.

Great start to the Devil's Bluff series. Here we meet Colter and Adeline who has always had a secret crush on Colter. When the two come in contact in a bar Colter proposes a proposition to Adeline in order to get the women off his back and Adeline to get the promotion, she's always wanted he tells her let's pretend to have a fake relationship. While faking this relationship these two starts to catch real feelings for each other and begin to wonder if they can have something real. These two are good together with Adeline having struggles and abandonment issues about her father and battling a broken heart from her ex and Colter struggling with his family and dad's illness there the perfect pair to heal the other. I can't wait for Beau and Nora's story looking forward to it.

Colter and Adeline are great together, and they are both dealing with broken hearts and are what the other needs. Adeline makes Colter feel alive again, breaking down his wall with her open heart.

Colter allows Adeline to find herself and heal her broken heart. Together they learn how to make the best of their situations and have fun falling in love with each other.

This remarkable story teaches us to have an open heart and that love heals all wounds with the right partner. I love the way the author shows us that love is the key to happiness and that it's magical. I can't wait to read the next book in this fabulous series.

A fake relationship... you help me and I will help you... what could possibly go wrong? I loved this book. Colter wants to keep women at bay and Adeline needs to get a story on Texas's Sexiest Bachelor. There is more than one story here. Adeline has had a crush on Colter since high school and now she has a chance to live out her fantasies, if even for a short period of time. There is an HEA and stories do not always end up in the way you would think or what should be. This book is full of heat, romance, and friendship.

Adeline comes back to her hometown after being away for years in NYC, to write a blog post on her old crush and now Texas’s Sexiest Bachelor- Colter Ward. He now runs a massive ranch and flies choppers but wants nothing to do with all the ladies coming into town. They both have to work through their past and new hardships that come along in the book. The chemistry is steamy even though it starts out a fake.

Enjoyed this cowboy romance, book one of a new series! I can’t wait for more of it- it was fast paced, whitty, charming, steamy, and small town Texas!

I loved Colter and Adeline. They were perfect for each other. The way they worked together on the interview she was doing, the meeting of her father and the death of his father. What I liked most was that they didn't play games, they were honest with each other from the start.

My rating: 5-stars.

This is the fourth book by Stacey Kennedy I've read. They've all been good reads. There is something different with this book though. While it's only just over 200 pages long, there's a lot of character building, healing, and love within those 200-something pages. The book had the right amount of slow-burn and teasing. Adeline is a strong woman with a good career. Colter is a strong man with a life-long career. Both characters have hearts of gold. They've both had troublesome relationships in the past. With them helping each other and realizing their priorities in life they can heal and get closure from bad relationships and heartbreaking situations and be what the other needs and wants in a partner. "Most Eligible Cowboy" is just a really well-written book with great characters. Bring on Beau and Nora's book "Stranded With A Cowboy".
