One year later, the Committee has struck back with a vengeance, crippling the Resistance now scattered throughout Europe. When Devonbury Academy in Switzerland is attacked, Tom and Sarah's only hope is to make it to a safe house in northern Italy by relying on their own experience, covert training, and martial arts.
Overpowered and outnumbered, Tom and Sarah are ruthlessly hunted throughout Italy by the Black Nobility and a merciless team of killers. Henry and Oliver discover a devastating truth, Detective Gowerstone is confronted by a dark secret from his past, and Inspector Fontaine is pushed to her limits.
Will Tom and Sarah ever find the Britfields? Relationships will be challenged, new friendships forged, and an unparalleled finale of sacrifice, romance, and loss.

“Britfield & The Lost Crown was conceived as an idea over 10 years ago while enduring a boring finance seminar. It started as a sketch of a hot air balloon with a young boy and girl trapped inside. From this simple drawing sprang the entire concept and story for Britfield.”
C.R. Stewart received a Bachelor of Arts in British Literature and European History from Brown University; did post- graduate work at Harvard University; earned an MBA from Boston College; and is pursuing a Master of Science in Advanced Management and a PhD in Strategy.
Now based in San Diego, C.R. Stewart is a strong supporter of education and the arts. He enjoys world travel, reading, riding, swimming, sailing, tennis, and is currently on a National School Book Tour with Britfield & The Lost Crown speaking to students on the importance of creativity!
One of the most awarded and successful books in fiction, the Britfield & the Lost Crown series is transforming literature and education while bringing encouragement to children and families worldwide. With the first of seven Britfield movies in development, the Theatrical Play (January 2023), and the Global Book Tours (2023-25), it is estimated that Britfield will surpass the C. S. Lewis and Tolkien series in worldwide sales and impact. The first live-action Britfield movie is projected to become one of the highest grossing films in cinematic history, rivaling the original Star Wars (1977), ET (1982), and Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005). The 7-book series (England, France, Italy, Russia, Asia, South American, United States) will be followed by 7 extraordinary movies.
Wow, what a ride!! This book has a strong James Bond vibe, but no martinis or cheap thrills. This 3rd books does have some romance, but defiantly now what drives the story & nothing inappropriate for a kids book. Because of the killing, I'd calls this YA. It's got James Bond & National Treasure, except it takes place in Italy, not the US. This is book that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The amount of research the author must of put into this has got to be extensive. This is an amazing book series.
Amazing. Books one and two were action packed, and so was this one, but the ending foreshadowed more romance coming up, so I would make sure your audience is interested in some romance before reading/recommending this series from now on.
"I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! COULD EVERYONE CHILL OUT FOR TWO SECONDS BEFORE SOMETHING CRAZY HAPPENS AGAIN?!" Sorry, the quote fit too perfectly! 😅
I have read and loved the Britfield books but unfortunately the 3rd didn't quite measure up to the expectations set by the first two.
Also, if you start to get discouraged, overwhelmed, or tired of reading this review I suggest skipping to the last paragraph.
First off, could everyone seriously chill out for a sec? Even the most action-packed action movies have more quiet moments than this book. In my experience, the longer you draw out the suspense, the more it fades. A moment of rest would really help!
Secondly, THE TYPOS. Things like that usually don't get under my skin and I just ignore them, but there was a typo or grammatical error every few chapters. Ones that really stuck out in my opinion, Oliver becomes Olive, Snippers are Snipers, and Oliver gripped instead of griped. Again, this wouldn't bother me (and I would actually find it quite comical) but it appears so often I couldn't ignore it. I would suggest an editor, a better editor, multiple editors, or something, because that was a little painful.
My third issue is things brought up in the first two books that weren't even mentioned in the third. Books 2 & 3 Spoilers:
Fourthly, there have been cliches in the series before and I looked the other way, but I couldn't handle the ending of 3.
There were a few misplaced jokes It was just too tense for a joke and I think that line among others would have been hilarious if placed anywhere else.
There also was a matter of a very telegraphed plot twist, but I usually try to give middle readers one overly obvious plot twist. There were also a few others that caught me off guard so it isn't quite as big of a deal as I would like to make it.
And lastly, this has been mentioned in other reviews, but it bothered me as well. There wasn't nearly as much history about Italy in this book as there was about England and France in the first two books. When it was brought up, it felt out of place and a little forced. I think part of the problem is the intricate history he has built in the story, it's getting a little difficult to distinguish fact from fiction, so any real historical facts get lost amongst the backstory of his world.
It may seem like I'm being nitpicky, but I do love these books and want them to be as successful as C. R. Stewart predicts. I'm just afraid if they don't at least go back to the quality of the first two they won't become very popular.
All that being said, it really was a good book. Not incredible or amazing, but good. While some of the book was really drawn out, other parts were intense and interesting. There were several new characters I loved and plot twists that had me on the edge of my seat. The storyline was interesting and intrigues me just enough to make me want to continue reading.

Britfield & The Return of the Prince is the 3rd in the series by C. R. Stewart. This is the continuation of the story of Tom, as he searches with Sarah and the Resistance to try to locate the needed information to bring the Committee to complete abolishment and find his parents. But, if you know anything about C.R. Stewart then you expect this to be anything but a straight-forward story.
Continuing the search brings Tom and Sarah, along with all their gathered accomplices, into the next part of the story. Tom’s family is still yet to be reunited with him because too much is happening with the Committee and they can’t risk the reunion where the family could be harmed. So, Tom and Sarah (again, as per usual) take things into their own hands. From the Academy where they are being educated in Switzerland to Rome to the Vatican to the cathedrals to Venice, the story is non-stop. Twists, turns, and hair-raising escapes follow Tom and Sarah every where they go.
My personal thoughts: I wish I could say I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first book in the series. But I didn’t. It just carried on too long for me and I missed what I loved most in the first book: the historical information on the places Tom and Sarah ended up. While it was still included here, it felt less inclusive and more forced into the story. I felt like the story needed to end and it kept going. I am not typically an adventure reader so this series was an unusual one for me to like to begin with. I feel like it has a wonderful readership out there and two of my girls fit that group. They enjoy this type of literature and my oldest is looking forward to reading Britfield & The Return of the Prince. She will likely really enjoy and be looking towards 2024 when the next book in the series is planned for release.
If you like adventure novels and non-stop action, you will love the Britfield series by C.R. Stewart.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Book III opens with a thorough summary of Book II to help refresh readers' minds about previous events. A much-appreciated touch! Britfield & The Return of the Prince follows the continuing adventures of Tom and Sarah as they try to find Tom's parents while the Committee tries to thwart them at every turn. (I highly recommend starting with Book I to fully understand their complete adventure, but the summary would probably provide enough information that even new readers would enjoy the third installment in the series.)
As Book III opens, Tom and Sarah are enrolled at Devonbury Academy in Switzerland. Along with their rigorous academic subjects, Inspector Fontaine has been training them in self-defense and intelligence gathering as well. Unfortunately, their stable life doesn't last long as their cover gets exposed and they are once again on the run. Their escape takes them through Italy (Florence, Venice and Rome) by some rather unusual methods. (I love that the author included maps for the cities mentioned in the book--very helpful!). While the Resistance is quietly growing, the Committee seems to have its claws in every city and at every level of government and time is running out. Tom and Sarah have to rely on their training and ingenuity to keep one step ahead of their enemies.
The action does not let up but continues at a heart-pumping pace from start to finish. The pages are full of chase scenes, spy tactics, physical combat, and computer hacking. (Not to mention a few surprise appearances by characters thought to be dead.) Through it all, Tom and Sarah never lose sight of their objective: to gain proof that Tom is the rightful heir to the British throne and expose the nefarious deeds of the Committee. Hang on for an exciting read and stay tuned for Book IV!
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of Britfield & The Return of the Prince from the author for the purpose of review. No other compensation was received.
Well, C.R. Stewart has done it again! His newest book, the 3rd form the series, Britfield & the Return of the Prince, is a favorite in our house. My daughter patiently awaited for it to arrive in the mailbox (well maybe not so patiently, as she kept asking about it), once she found out she would be receiving it to review. Once received, she dived in and stayed up late reading it in two nights, as it was hard to put down and this is no thin book, it is the thickest of the three! The Britfield series is one of her favorites, she said in her top three, and this girl reads a lot, so you know it is good! This book happens to be her favorite of the three! She enjoys the adventure, relationships, the courageous characters, the places, and seeing goodness over darkness. This book takes place throughout parts of Switzerland, Scotland, northern and central Italy, and Austria. My daughter also said this about the book, that through all the hardships, in the end their friendship is stronger than ever! She said this will be like the Narnia series, it will become a classic. I highly recommend it too, as a person who likes historical fiction, this is a great read for all ages!
Now she waits for book 4 next year! Eventually this will be a 7-book series covering England, France, Italy, Russia, Asia, South American, United States.
*Thank you Mr. Stewart for the advanced copy to review your book in exchange for an honest review.
C.R. Stewart does it again!
“Britfield and the Rise of the Prince” opens with a refresher of book two. It is now a year later and Tom and Sarah are in hiding at a boarding school while they are trained to fight. Soon they are discovered and set out to protect themselves and their friends. They are still working to discover what has happened to Tom’s family aka the Britfields. Book Three brings us a surprise new character and a wonderful adventure around Italy.
I think the Britfield books keep getting better and better. This one in particular kept me on the edge of my seat and made me want to stay up late to read it. I have even recommended it to a student in my class who I know will love the series as much as I do. Tom and Sarah’s friendship and determination is an inspiration to readers young and old.
I look forward to book 4! I am only sad I have to wait until 2024 to read it!
After patiently waiting for the 3rd book in the series, we finally finished up this book! I appreciated that there is a recap of book II to refresh my memory.
The story is an adventure as Tom and Sarah are searching for Tom’s parents and prove that he is the rightful heir to the British throne. The Committee is trying everything in their powers to stop it and they have eyes everywhere. In the meantime Tom and Sarah are attending Devonbury Academy in Switzerland. Inspector Fontaine is gathering intel and training them in self-defense. Life at Devonbury doesn’t last long as they are quickly discovered and find themselves on the run again.
The story has a lot of action and keeps going on throughout the book. We look forward to book IV. My daughter wants to have me reread the story for her. I just have misplaced one the books to do it! Hopefully we can do it before the next book comes out.
A great adventure that you won’t likely forget.
I Disclosure: I received this complimentary product in exchange for my honest thoughts.
The best thing about the Britfield series is the rich history of the countries and historic places the children visit. That, and the well-developed characters of Tom, Sara, and Hunter. Sara is by far my favorite. She's quirky, a genuis at figuring out escapes in bad situations, and a trustworthy companion.
The story is filled with non-stop action, intense situations, and times of escapes. It is one of the best action packed novels laced with suspense that I've read in a long time. Even though it is considered a young adult book, I feel that it has enough going for it to keep an adult engaged.
I can't wait for the next in the series to see what adventures follow for Tom, Sara, and Hunter. Highly recommended. I was provided with a complimentary copy by the publisher and voluntarily choose to review it.
I received this book from Devonfield Publishing and C.R. Stewart. and this book lived up to its expectations. I love how they spiced things up and gave Tom a sibling. and then at the end how Tom and Sarah had become boyfriend and girlfriend. I really love how every time they end the perspective it leaves you at a cliffhanger wanting to hear more and more. I binge read the book and wished so desperately that the fourth was out. I really hope that the fourth lives up to the expectations of the other three books. this is an awesome series and is in my top picks. this for me is a must read series.

I really am enjoying this series. I love the adventures that Tom, Sarah and all their friends and family go through. I love action that is taking place in this story. I recommend this book to mainly young teens but I think adults would enjoy it also. I am really looking forward to the next set of adventures that Tom and Sarah will encounter. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
I have whiplash. The book is one giant car chase. We go from impossible situation to unbelievable escape, repeat, repeat... I'm still enjoying the travel, still googling tons of locations and brands, but we need a plot that's believable. We need better rounded characters. I need a reason to read the fourth book when it comes out. I feel like I could already write it because this series has become very predictable. Mr. Stewart needs a good editor.
Loved the plot and interesting characters. The plot twists were very surprising and thrilling to read. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the Britfield heirs and the Resistance. Beautiful message! I am awaiting the fourth book’s release!!
A little to much of the same from the first to books, but still a solid story. Took me longer to read this because I had to share the book with a 12 year old. Looking forward to book four.
I cannot wait for the next book to come out because I want to know what happens after what happened to the committee! I am overjoyed, scared, and curious of what is to come. I can’t wait!

While this wasn't my favorite book in the series, it sadly felt a little long. I did love the setting of Italy as the major series. I did enjoy how the main characters worked through adversity and overcame different challenges. I loved the relationships between Kate and Oliver and then Fontaine and Gowerstone. I also love the connections between Tom, Sarah, and Hunter and their friendship, as well as the relationship between Tom and Hunter as siblings. I will be continuing the series to see how the story fully ends.
Britfield & The Return of the Prince is the third installment in the Brifield series written by C.R. Stewart. Book One is Britfield & The Lost Crown and Book Two is Britfield & Rise of the Lion. If you have not yet picked up book one you are truly missing out on a book that will whisk you away on an adventure.
It has been some time since reading the second book so I was thankful for the short recap in the beginning pages of this book. However, I do not believe this book is one that you could read without having read the previous two. While each book has its own adventure, they do build off each other. It is also important to know the characters and their roles. So without further ado let's talk about Britfield & The Return of the Prince.
In the past I would read the Britfield books aloud to my daughter, but she is older now and reads them in her leisure. So I decided to quickly grab the book and sneak away to read it at night before it got into her hands! Immediately C.R. Stewart draws you into the adventure and suspense of Tom and Sarah. So get ready to not want to put the book down, even to sleep :) The previous books had the same quality. The first was set in England, the second in France, and this one for the bulk takes place in Italy.
Now, I have been to Italy and visited many of the places mentioned in the book. I will be honest it took me back to Italy, and the descriptions of the landmarks and museums were spot on. I think this was one of the reasons I was so drawn to the book. The story is one of twists, the Resistance is determined to keep Tom safe while the Committee continues to work hard at getting rid of the Britfield family forever. While narrowly escaping an attack from the Committee, Tom learns of a secret that leads him to another nail-biting adventure.
This book is full of adventure and suspense. My daughter is 12 and these books are very interesting to her. This particular book is over 500 pages long but it does not daunt her at all. She was so excited to get this new installment in the mail. Every day she recaps for me what she has read since I already know the outcome. Even though she isn't finished yet, she already is looking forward to book four!!
There is nothing graphic in the book but it does talk about a person wanting to assassinate Tom and there are times when gunfighting takes place. I think ages 12 and up is the most suitable age for this book. The Britfield series is a good YA fiction and one that my daughter and I both enjoy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
This is one of the most anticipated books of 2022 by me and many others! This series has been so wonderful to read as an adult. I just know it would catch the imagination of young readers. I was always looking for chapter books that would intrigue my sons. I definitely would have bought the Britfield series for them! If you have a young teenager or young adult, or you like to read young adult fiction, I highly recommend this saga. This is a fast-paced, hold on for the ride kind of book. There are intrigues, explosions, witty dialogue, passionate devotion to a cause, deep friendships, loyalty, courage, and a clear good versus evil plot.
The Britfield series would be excellent for your young people. However, as a 50 plus adult, I'm still finding this really good. I love how there is history in geography interspersed throughout. There is also revelation of a new world order agenda. It becomes a bit of a cautionary tale about social media, too.
I would have loved to go through this book with my kids while we were homeschooling. There are so many topics to discuss and places to look up. I don't have enough good things to say about this series.
Bottom line?Exciting, intriguing, fast-paced, and educational all wrapped into one excellent series. I expect to see this book and the entire series made into a movie series one day.
I highly encourage you to purchase book one if you've not read this series. It's called Britfield and the Lost Crown. Then, go ahead and purchase the next two books. You're going to want to read them all!
Be blessed,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage

This is book 3 of the Britfield series. Another fast-paced action-packed adventure with Tom and Sarah, as they try to establish Tom’s birthright as the heir to the British throne. We learn more about the Committee and the extent of their global domination and we meet familiar characters from previous books. There is, however, a new introduction in this instalment, a young lad called Hunter. Who is he? No spoilers here. Overall a very entertaining story, that keeps you turning the pages, with not much time to catch your breath. Although all of the characters do develop and we see new sides to them in book 3. For example, Sarah seems to come into her own this time, as Fontaine has been coaching her and she learned her lessons well. The gun and weapon descriptions still irk me, I’m not bothered what type of gun or rifle it is, I feel that naming every weapon glamourises them, it just strikes me as unnecessary in a children’s book. Also, the British characters wouldn’t say, gas stations, cell phones or use ‘blocks’ to describe how far away they are from something. Those irritations aside, this is definitely a series that children will enjoy, it will keep them reading and wanting the next instalment. Book 4 is available now, and is currently sitting on my ‘to be read’ pile.
