AN EXPRESSION OF WHO YOU ARE. Maybe you've struggled to define yourself beyond your career, or maybe you have even strained to find value in yourself beyond your physical abilities as an athlete. If so, this book was written for you!
Each chapter takes you on a journey of how the authors tapped into their true self. Forever Athlete is about peak performers who actively seek out new ways to grow. You are so much more than an athlete and this book serves as a real-life resource of owning who you are so you can experience life on your own terms.
Professional soccer player and athlete, sports psych mentor, photographer, videographer, and certified strength and conditioning coach, Rachel Breton (b. Kearny, NJ, 4 August 1990) is best known as the master of all trades.
Prior to college, she graduated from high school as an all AP / honors student-athlete, being offered multiple full scholarships to some of the top academic and athletic universities in our nation. Declining early acceptances to some of our nation’s Ivy League institutions, she attended both Villanova University and Rutgers University to end with her concentration in English and psychology.
Athletically, she played internationally on the US-Youth National Team pool starting at the age of eleven, competing in countries in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Russia. In college, she played D1 women’s soccer, receiving Big East Academic All-Star Honors through her collegiate seasons. She also had the honor to represent her state, region, and nation professionally in the National Women’s Soccer League (Sky Blue FC; NWSL.) and overseas in the Toppserien League in Norway.
During her professional soccer career, Rachel gained unique perspectives, made impactful memories, built unforgettable relationships, and endured authentic struggles for which she is truly grateful. Rachel strives to apply her knowledge and experience in soccer, technology, and psychology to bridge the gap between former athletes and their sense of identity. In her own words, “Life is about serving others. I love living by my core principles: gratitude, appreciation for God and life, maintaining a healthy and energetic physical body, connecting to our spirits and each other, and perfecting an awareness of the gifts that have been bestowed upon each of us.”
Since graduating and claiming the title of being an ex college athlete, I’ve struggled with my identity outside of my sports. I cannot recommend this book enough to athletes in all walks of life, who struggle to find their truth outside of their sports
