"Until Proven Guilty is one of the year's top crime thrillers" - BestThrillers.com When the law prevents justice...When DNA isn't proof...When a lie is the truth. Investigator Tawny Lindholm and her attorney-husband Tillman Rosenbaum juggle three baffling cases where DNA is supposed to prove guilt or innocence. Instead, it reveals deception and betrayal, triggering a crisis in their marriage and an unimaginable threat to their family.
This book drew me in with the first chapter. It pings with page-turning action and suspense from beginning to end. Danger and twists lie at every turn. Although it’s part of the Tawny Lindholm series, Tawny’s lawyer husband (Tillman) and war veteran son (Neal) play the leading roles in this one. When a man shows up out of nowhere claiming to be Neal’s brother, which would mean Tawny’s beloved deceased husband cheated on her, Tillman and Neal do everything they can to keep the mystery from Tawny while trying to solve it. Who is the man? What does he really want? You’ll want to keep reading to find out!
Tawny is still adjusting to life as the wife of a criminal attorney. Some of her husband's clients are just evil. When a strange young man claims to be the son of her late husband, Tawny and her children try to understand what the truth really is. Another fast moving story in a great series.
This is the seventh book in this series. This edition of the series was well worth waiting for. The characters are down to earth and very real. I can't wait for book eight.
Wonderful family interactions and outcome. Too bad Emma is such a non caring and non thinking woman. Maybe next Neal will find a good woman and give his mother a grandchild
Another exciting adventure for Tawny. This sequel keeps you guessing. Full of energy, and not a moment of peace, as the author keeps you on your toes. Great read. Can't wait until the next one!
Tawny and Tillman have to work around the problem of being a defense attorney for someone clearly guilty. The whole family is reacquainted and the plots twist and turn. A good summer read .
Tawny and Tillman are a few of the only literary characters I think about outside the pages. I always have to read the next book to discover what's happening in their lives. Their relationship is one of commitment, not perfection. I like the contrast that she struggles with dyslexia while he is a brilliant lawyer. But, they complement one another in the office and their home.
I like how all the cases in this book were about guilt and innocence being determined by DNA. A guilty man goes free because of a bad DNA sample, an innocent man is in jail, and an alleged son from Tawny's first husband who died from cancer shows up with DNA results.
This book will take you on a twisted journey as you get mad at the justice system that doesn't always provide justice, but you never give up hope because Tawny and Tillman are a brilliant duo.
I also enjoy the interwoven threads of their adult children as they try to maintain healthy relationships even though many struggles in the past still haunt them.
