I think this is my favourite out of the series, though I like them all.
This time, there's so much going on not just in the past but also in the future. Once again, the story is a tribute to true love and friendship, and it highlights all the ways in which families can have positive or negative influences on our lives. It also shows again how the simplest of actions can unleash a multitude of reactions and consequences. And the author captures a gamut of emotions that kept me hooked.
It was wonderful to reunite with some of my favourite characters like Keen Wolf and Gracie, and lovely to see Charlotte's family - by blood and by choice - grow so much.
The change of setting and the intriguing, suspenseful plot connected to that was unexpected and added another layer of complexity. Oh, how I came to hate THAT person...no spoilers.
The ending had me fighting back tears and biting my nails, hoping for Book 4 soon.

I must admit, this was not something I expected to read not because the story deluded me. On the contrary it had so many twists and turns that every single page I kept reading , I was expecting a surprise waiting for me around the corner. Firstly the story mainly continues its journey with Charlotte’s and Ben’s lives along with their secondary characters. It is well developed and each single episode perfectly embeds with the other ones. A book in which a life cycle uncovers in front of the reader. I really don’t want to spoil the fun but I just loved this family so much. Charlotte and Ben are just the perfect couple to represent a community based upon respect and love. Just one last thing before I go: in my opinion I really don’t think the story ends that is I ‘m convinced that the author has much more in store for us.

“Sky Watcher: Between the Shadows” by Heather Lynn is well worth the read!
This third book in the Sky Watcher series is a beautifully written story that will hold your interest from the first page on. It follows the lives of Charlotte and Ben Williams along with their many family members and friends. The story moves quickly and there seems to be a new adventure around every corner. It takes place both in the early 1800’s and in the modern day, but you will have to read it to see how it all unfolds. The believable characters become like well-loved friends, as Heather artfully draws you into their lives. In addition, the details of everyday life in the early 1800’s along with the references to Wiccan traditions and natural medicine, are well researched and presented. All in all, “Sky Watcher: Between the Shadows” is a pleasure to read and I highly recommend it! Well done again Heather Lynn!

This is the 3rd book in the Sky Watcher series and it really moves along well with a lot of details about Charlotte and Ben's life. They start out in the 200's and help her friend Jessica. Once they get back to the 1800's again they still continue to have many adventures in Scotland and meet some interesting and some savory characters. I hope there is a 4th book in the planning stages so we can keep up with all of their adventures.

"Between the Shadows" distinguishes itself from the first two books in the Sky Watcher series. The initial book delves into Charlotte's tale, while in the second, her friends attempt to correct what they see as a mistake by tampering with the timeline. In contrast, the third book finds them once more meddling with time, oblivious to the metaphorical presence of a frustrated lady holding scissors, who is starting to be perturbed by the repeated interference in her thread-cutting endeavors.

Nonetheless, before her anger fully surfaces in a gradual building process throughout the book, we explore Ben and Charlotte's everyday life as a married couple. We see them tackling the challenges together. Some of these challenges, I must confess, truly tested my patience. However, when I recalled Ben's insecurities about why Charlotte would leave her modern life for him, I couldn't help but think, "How sweet!" Despite this, Keen Wolf remains unbeatable, but still, Ben was undeniably adorable.

The point is, when you come across a beautifully written and engaging story that stirs emotions within you, you realize that you are holding an excellent book. It signifies that you are not only attached to the characters but also immersed in their narrative, becoming part of the storyline. Moreover, you tend to lose track of everything else, even the lady with the scissors.

However, Atropos, the fate who holds the scissors, is not one to be easily dismissed or forgotten. As you approach the conclusion of the book, another emotion emerges - the kind that prompts you to exclaim, “No! You wouldn’t!” Yet, you soon come to understand that she most certainly would, all the while wickedly grinning at you. It is truly brilliant!

While the beauty of "Between the Shadows" is found in its details, it is truly irresistible not to be captivated by the series and feel empathy towards its characters. If you have not indulged in this series yet, I highly recommend it because Heather Lynn guides you through a wonderful journey.

This series tackles many difficult subjects reflecting the time period and the author handles them well. Slavery and the treatment of Native Americans comes into play. We view these things from Charlotte's contemporary viewpoint while also having insight to how these things were tackled by those who lived in that interesting if challenging period of American history.
I appreciated being able to see Ben in contemporary time and to see Charlotte go back to the time she had lived in before after her experiences in the the 19th century. It enhanced the exploration of the difficulties Ben and Charlotte experience when their lives began in very different time periods.
There is a part of this book I found especially difficult if it wasn't such a good series I might have wavered about continuing. These were harsh times but the curveballs of life are present in all time periods. To truly reflect a period of history a story has to contain elements of the realities of that time. I can tell the author has gone to great lengths to be accurate.

Sky Watcher
Between the Shadows
By, Heather Lynn

Another powerful time travel story from Heather Lynn in the Sky Watcher series!

Part 1 begins where we left off in Sky Watcher Déjà Vu. We are immersed in modern times, in Charlotte's home town with her friends and Ben. Heather Lynn does an excellent job developing characters only talked about in the previous books. I like how she paints a handsome image of Charlotte’s husband. We know he’s good looking, but you get a better picture of just how attractive he really is, and the upset it causes in this book.

Later in Part 2, the story advances by several years. The family has expanded and the children have a uniqueness of their own. The story's mystical theme is compelling. There is mystery built around Charlotte’s mother and daughter, and her friend Jessica, and we witness the intense bond between Charlotte, Gifted Hands and Keen Wolf. There are so many layers developing and waiting to be uncovered in future books.

The characters and scenes lift off the pages, and invite you into the riveting storyline. Be aware, there are scenes of bondage and violation. Although not very explicit, it may bother some readers.
I recommend this book for anyone interested in historical, fantasy fiction laced with romance.

Between the Shadows is not a stand-alone book. Read the first two books in the Sky Watcher series, A Shadow in Time and Déjà Vu, to understand what is happening in this book. You are sure to enjoy them!

I look forward to reading what this talented author has in store for her readers as the Sky Watcher series continues!

After reading the first two books in Heather's Sky Watcher's series, I waited in anticipation for the release of Between the Shadows. I must say that I was not disappointed! With every book I have really enjoyed the characters personalities and relationships. Heather really has a way to make you interested in each characters lives and want you to read on to find out what their future holds for them!

In this book Heather has Ben and Charlotte return to the present time. It was fun to read about Charlotte's friendships and imagining how strange that would be for Ben to visit this whole new world. After their never boring visit with Charlotte's friends, Ben and Charlotte do return to the 1800's again to resume their lives that they have began to form together.

Just like the other two books, this book is filled with many twists and turns that make you want to keep reading! There are a variety of emotions involved in reading Charlotte's adventures. There is a beautiful love story filled with obstacles, as well as some moments of sadness and scary adventures!

Thank you Heather Lynn for writing such fun books filled with time travel, love, wicca and so much more!

I can't wait for book # 4!

With Sky watcher: Between the shadows. The series grew into more fascinating and thrilling. The connection I had with them became more intense as they traveled to every 'next page'.
Love, family and friendship, the ties of human emotion is well touched throughout the story.
With the addition of future' and past, the plot was intricate. I loved the way author detailed them without diffusing the flow of the story.

With the first two in the series, I was already in love with Charlotte, Ben, Gracie, Keen wolf, Gifted hands Now I became more attached that I wanted more from them. Especially with kids in this series, it became my Favourite book.

Thank you Heather for this wonderful journey.

I highly recommend others to pick up Sky watcher series.

PS : it's hard not to mention the last chapter when it's highly emotional. I struggled not to cry. Left me wanting more. I thought 'No way, it can't be the end, just not right.' It left me speechless.

( I'm not talking about a cliffhanger but I want it to be a cliffhanger. Maybe it is 😉You will get it when you read it.)

"Between the Shadows" is the third book in this incredible series. The first book in the series delivered in such a way that the anticipation for the second book was high. Upon hearing there was a third I did wonder what else and where else could this story lead. Well...Heather Lynn's writing and changing styles took the perspective and story line to places I just did not see coming. The emotion of the writing and the strong connection you develop with each character at times can leave you 100 percent in it. It has taken me some time to write a review as for this book stayed with me and I took some time to process everything. Once that last page was read all I could think about was I need to read more and I need to know what happens next in both times. Time travel and the connecting rituals is a recipe for such an incredible read. I am completely hooked on this series.

Another enjoyable read visiting the worlds of Charlotte and Ben. To me the pace of the first part of the book reflected the when and where of the story line. I don’t know if this was intentional but it reflected the vibe of the modern world. However once the characters returned to the 1820’s and the lives they live there that pace also picked up and kept me wanting to read more. Beautiful and interesting descriptions of the time spent overseas and the characters they interacted with. I have to wonder whats next and await the continuing adventures.

Just when you think you have Charlottes life all figured out, Heather Lynn adds more incredible details & plot points to the story to bring you in a little more & keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen next! We get to meet some new characters & miss the old characters a little while Charlotte, Ben & Family explore a new chapter in their lives! I finished this one the fastest out of the three & am eagerly waiting for the fourth!

I just loved reading about Charlotte and Ben's travel to the present and then back to the past and all the adventure and characters they encounter. Heather Lynn has really done a fantastic job of detailing their experiences and introducing new friends. I really enjoyed finding out about how their lives were unfolding within the letters back and forth with the people back home. There better be another book coming because I'm not done with this story just yet!!

Heather Lynn did it again. I loved this story as much as the last two, maybe even more! There were new characters, some different settings, and a storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat. I laughed and cried and I fell in love all over again. 5-stars all the way!

Another great book in what I hope is not the last of this great series. I’ve always been a fan of time travel books. I would love to see this series made into a movie or mini series.

This was my favorite of the series so far. As with books 1 and 2, once I started it was hard to put it down. Once again the author (Heather Lynn) did a wonderful job of bringing Charlotte, her family, and friends to life. She takes the impossibility of traveling and communicating through time and makes it feel as if it is plausible. Heather's understanding of the power of plants and herbs along with the natural power of stones from the earth reminds us that not so very long ago those were the only methods of healing we had available. With her words she makes you smile, laugh, and cry, feeling for the characters with anger, sympathy, caring, and hope. I am looking forward to book 4 as the first 3 books have got me fully invested in Char and her friends' journeys in this delightful series. I hope Heather is busy working on the last of the 5 book set as I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
