I survived the destruction of my ship but now I’m stranded on a strange planet, protecting my only shelter—the crashed wreck. I’m a trained soldier, but I’m not prepared for wilderness survival on an alien planet. When a color-shifting alien male named Zurian finds me, I…well, I shoot at him, but after that, I’m intrigued by the gorgeous male who carries a staff and claims to be searching for his missing brothers. After a bad military operation resulted in a few cyborg parts, I thought I was as hardened as they got. But not when it comes to Zurian…
Bryn is fierce and beautiful and she ignites a fire in me that I cannot ignore, but my living ship is badly damaged and I must find the other Destran lords to save it. When my people fall ill with a mysterious ailment, Bryn and the cargo she guards may hold the key to curing them, but I am not the only one who wants her. A cunning enemy stalks the forest and is slowly closing in on her. To save her and my people, I must bring Bryn back to my ship…even if it means getting shot at again. But an impossible choice in the face of a deadly ambush could prove to be my undoing.
This is book three in the Lords of Destra series. Each is a complete story with no cliffhangers or cheating. My books always have consent and a happy ending. Cheers!
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙❤️💜💚 Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍 Character development: 😊😘😟🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Bryn - she was former military who lost and arm and a leg in an oxygen tank explosion and had they replaced by bionic parts. She was hired as the security consultant for an expedition in space with a captain and crew who were grossly incompetent. After the spaceship crashed, she was left alone near the wreckage of part of the ship, since her escape pod wouldn’t deploy, and she made a home for the last 17 days in the wreck.
The Hero:Zurian - he is the captain of a living ship called a Sola, that is badly damaged due to their enemies, the Brakken who are after them for the Lami made by the Sola that they use as a drug. They are stranded on a planet that will not sustain a ship like his and those of his compatriots. The people that he is in charge of begin to get sick and he has no way to cure them. When the ship is on a fertile planet, it will create a milky substance called Lami that feeds and sustains the people that live on the ship, though the ships are scattered about the barren planet and all of them are not doing well. The captains need to get together and find a planet that will sustain them. This has been the ongoing storyline in this series so far.
The Story: When Zurian finds Bryn, he is immediately attracted to her, and he is impressed with how she is able to take care of herself. It is nice that Bryn has a neural implant that will translate just about any language once it is spoken enough. So, it doesn’t take long for her and Zurian to understand each other. They end up working together to save each other, because Bryn has a medical unit and other supplies on the wrecked ship.
I have really liked this series so far. The world building with the living ships is terrific, especially with the terrain of the planet they are on. I could definitely picture everything in my mind. I kind of pictured the Brakken like Bebop and Rocksteady from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I also liked the fact that the two main characters are fated mates.
This audiobook was done in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Elle Sonali and Tor Thom. Elle Sonali has a clear, feminine voice which is very pleasant and really fit well for the heroine. Tor Thom has an extremely deep voice which is perfect for just about any alien Hero, especially because of their size and strength.
Love the Captain Tightpants reference. In this installment, the heroine is 35 and I love that. Nice to see age along with the life experience. Interesting plot, with different terrain, weather, and natives.
Enjoyed most of this book. The couple were great and the human woman awesome. Did wish for a bit more of some things. She definitely should have been more prominent as a seasoned ex military and protector. The scene at the end should have her preplanning defense, attack. Other issue is the items in the crates. No way, one, they only would have just gone to recover them with the two of them. Two, they would not have just taken med. the power suppliers would be a must since the med machine eventually would run out. They should have mentioned at the end going back at minimum with food for the “cats” and emptying crates in caves and getting anything else around area her devise tracts. As well how it could be used to track the other pods. Lastly I was confused why the ships did not temporarily put roots in an safe area while they gathered food stuffs, etc.
This author hit the target dead center. The first book took some time getting acquainted with the setting, but once it was established, the rest was history. Unlike other alien love stories, this doesn’t take place on Earth, the Earthlings weren’t kidnapped for some financial interest, nor was there some human bride scheme. Nope. This was a simple fiction taking place in the distant future where space travel is common.
A group of human females traveled through the galaxy on a space mission to map out another planet. During transit, their spacecraft hits something, and the passengers are forced to flee in the escape pods. The pods land on the nearest planet, where there’s a group of aliens who also got stranded on the same planet from a crash. And here’s where the plot got confusing, at first.
So these Aliens come from a planet where they all live in a spacecraft, big enough to house thousands of Destrans. Here’s the kicker though: these “spacecrafts” are actually ALIVE and are sentient beings. When their planet became overpopulated, the Sola (name for the sentient ship) had 7 babies. Those baby ships (aka Solas) chose Destran Warriors (deemed captains of sorts) to “connect to” and gave them the title of “Lord.” These Lords had the memories of their past lives erased, to where all that remained was the relationship between Lord and Sola. Hundreds of Destrans chose to leave their overpopulated planet with these 7 Solas and their Lords to find a new planet to settle on and grow. These Solas provide for its inhabitants, including food and healthcare, but it must set down roots to grow first. The substance the Solas produces is heavily sought after, so of course, the Destrans have enemies. Those said enemies attacked the traveling Solas and they crashed landed on the same planet as the 7 human women.
Are you still following me so far? Because that’s a big narrative to wrap one’s head around.
7 Lords. 7 human women. All stranded on a planet together. One by one, the Lords save the human women before saving their Solas and hunt for their brother Lords and sister Solas. Only when they are together again can they leave the dangerous planet.
My biggest pet peeve when an author refers to “coitus” is when they substitute it with the generic “sex.” For example: “He lifted me up to where his head pressed against my sex, then plunged into me with one swift thrust.” There are SO MANY WORDS a writer can use aside from “sex,” so I view the usage as incredibly lazy. Aside from that aggravation, these books are very well written. Full of adventure and love, this has quickly become one of my favorite series. I can’t wait for the next book to be released. Heavily recommended if you are into alien love stories.

This book told a captivating story! I barreled through it really quickly because I simply adored the cast. Bryn is a great lead, she’s interesting and deep and full of layers. I adore her stubborn and self sufficient nature with those occasional hints of vulnerability. Zurian makes a great mate for her, he’s such an honest man/alien and really expresses his true self without a hint of fear. I adore his nerdy nature, as did Bryn, and he really has no shame for that fact which is nice. He’s comfortable in himself.
The main action of the story being away from the battlefield was a good setup for these characters because it showned Bryn she didn’t have to rely on her military training to be helpful and important, instead it was her knowledge and compassion that lead them to survival.
I would like to point out one character I liked a lot was Cirnia, she was a great assistant to Zurian and I have a weird suspicion that they’re related somehow… like she’s his mother or sister or aunt. She seems to really care for him more than just as an assistant would. She also insists on calling him Zurian instead of “Lord” which makes me think she’s more familiar to him. Just a thought.
Fated to the Alien Lord is book 3 in the Lords of Destra series. This book is about 35 year old human, Bryn, and Destran Lord, Zurian. This book is consent heavy. The book starts with Bryn living at the site where she wrecked. She befriends a creature and names her Fiera. This isn’t all that important to the overall story, but I really liked her connection to the furry creature. In my mind, I pictured Fiera like a massive wolf with 4 eyes. Anyway, Zurian’s sola is badly damaged and cannot produce lami. Zurian is searching for his fellow Destran Lords and their solas, who also crash landed on this planet, when he happened across Bryn. I really enjoy this series. These books are captivating yet easy listens. The narrators do a great job. This is a series that I will likely listen to again. One funny thing that threw me was this Dr Seuss moment: “He shook his head and lay on his bed, fingers stooped behind his head.” Lol the rhyming did not fit the rest of writing style. I almost think that was thrown in as a joke. The final 36 minutes are a preview of book 4. I will definitely be continuing this series. Overall, I give Fated to the Alien Lord 4 stars.
The Lords of Destra series continues with Bryn and Zurian. Bryn was the security consultant on the Earth ship that crashed onto the planet. A former soldier, her bionic limbs were the result of an accident that almost killed her, and now those limbs are what makes it easier for her to survive. When Zurian, another crashed visitor to the planet, finds her, neither of them know it was fated. His Solas ravaged by illness, Zurian needs Bryn’s help, and the medical equipment she has with her. And though Bryn is tough, she has no idea how to keep herself alive on this planet…
This fourth story (the first is a free novella on the author’s site), shows us another of the missing solas and her lord. We learn a little more about what happened to the earth ship when it fell, and some about the land onto which they fell.
It’s a very quick read, with lots of action and a little romance, and some interesting encounters with the native wildlife! This is an enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours, recommended for sci-fi romance fans.
I have read each book in the series like its the best chocolate, wine, whiskey...you name it! Once started I just kept going. I'm addicted and waiting for future stories in the series will be like severe withdrawal! I actually got teary knowing I now have to wait for more stories. I may have to start over from the beginning again just to keep me from going crazy waiting. Each female character feels like one of my BFFs & their men are, shall I say, stimulating? Drool worthy? Intellectually exciting? All & more. I love how each relationship progresses and that the stories have some consistency yet are not cookie cutter. Great job Ella Blake! I read like a madwoman meaning I read a LOT! (I'm disabled & reading is not just a life long love, but something exciting I can do no matter what my body is doing. My point being that I think by volume alone I can tell good writing from bad or mediocre.) I am so excited for future stories in this series. Thanks Ella!
I am talky enjoying this series of wandering peoples aboard a live, sentient spacecraft. In search of a new home, seven ships holding thousands of people each, are torn apart and fall to a planets surface. They have all been separated and are searching as well they can. A human science team of seven women crash land separately as well on the planet. Survival is iffy, until the Lord of the Sola, or ship, rescues them. Strange animals, evil aliens, and illness make life difficult. HEA guaranteed.
Wow this was good, I think these books keep getting better and better. Bryn was along defending wreckage from their ship that crashed. Zurian found her and the chemistry between them was off the charts. I thought at first they were going to find Kael and his mate but the came upon their enemy the Brakkens. Grael arrived on the scene just in time. Looking forward to the next book.
I Love Zurian and Bryn! This is truly one of my favorite series and I think Fated to the Alien Lord is my favorite in the series..so far. The characters are so rich and so real. The world building is wonderfully done. And the storyline is engrossing. Ella Blake is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing grabs me every time.
Breathtaking is how Zurian describes Bryn, the sythoid woman he discovers guarding the remains of her ship in the frozen snow laden portion of the planet. Love that Bryn is a thirty-five year old former soldier with cyborg body parts. She is a stunning, powerful heroine. Fated to the Alien Lord is a fantastic new book in the series.
Words cannot describe how much I am enjoying this series.😃😃. Bryn is separated from the six other women that was on the spaceship with her. The hero Zurian come across her by accident and realize that she is his fated mate. They face several challenges before they reach their HEA. Kudos to the author👏👏👏 wonderful series. Looking forward to the next book.
This is an easy series to binge-read. Each story is quick and light. I've been reading them in the evenings before bed and I generally finish them in a single sitting. It's not the best series I've ever read, but the books are entertaining and engaging enough for me to want to continue.
I thought that the book was OK, it just lacked some Zing! Supposedly none of the books In the series are cliffhangers ... Well I beg to differ ! When this book ends you wonder, well , what happened to the bad guys, what happened to the sola, what happened, what happened , what happened ?! That my friends is called a cliffhanger...
I expected a light, simple story but three books in and I find I can’t put it down. The plot is unusual and all the stories interconnected and there is a real flow. I am surprised bc I really needed a light story line for a change. I am thoroughly enjoying this. 🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
This is another wonderful story in the Lords of Destra series. I so love these books! The soldier and the scholar.. What an awesome couple! She's sweeter than I expected, and he is funnier. Lots of action, danger and exciting times. Love the addition of her animal friend..
I am loving this series. I wish all the stories in the series are complete so that I can read them one after the other. And there is that prophecy to look forward to.
Zurian's sola is very damaged and in need of repair. Bryn is alone after crash landing hoping that the others will come. Well that doesn't happen but the story unfolds in an incredible way. Enjoy
This was a great read. Zurian and Brynn were so different but accepting of each others differences. looki g forward to the continuing story of the Deztran Lords and their future.
This story is about 2 lost souls who find each other in a strange way. They work together to help hundreds of people. This is a honest affection between this couple. Well worth reading.
This series just keeps getting better. I am so glad I took the time to go back and start at the beginning, because each of these Destra Lords is uniquely different, and a long held prophecy is slowly coming to fruition.
What a wonderful engaging story it really provided a lot of intrigue a lot of suspense and a lot of wonderful love do yourself a favor buy it read it indulge in all of the books
Kindle Unlimited Read in order Spice 🌶️🌶️ Interesting easy world Fated mates Female soldier This book was really good, I like how each story is different but all enjoyable. This one is scholar and soldier. Very similar to ice planet barbarians.
Personal Preference Rating 4/5 🌶️🌶🌶️ Audiobook (Audible) I think I had higher expectations for the female MC given who she was. That being said it felt like this one had more of a plot which I liked, and I’ve liked all of the MMCs.
I like this series! I'm really enjoying it. Elle Sonali and Tor Thom are the narrators and they've done a good job with the whole series thus far. I cant stop listening to them! This is my favorite thus far. There are 7 books total.
It was OK, there's a bit more worldbuilding, and some explanations for the inconsistencies in the previous books, though they weren't particularly satisfying. Things are slowly coming together, and the story is entertaining enough for me to want to continue reading.
