The Cornish Bakery series is pretty easy reading but they are starting to feel quite samey. A new woman arrives in the Bay to volunteer at Elsie’s bakery (discovered by the happy couple from the last book), meets a guy (how many eligible bachelors are there in Penworth Bay?), they have some setback, it’s resolved and the woman decides to stay in the area. Also the relationships progress really quickly so the couples are referred to as ‘partners’ after a few weeks. The bakery sounds lovely and I like the characters however, and the stories are very pleasant.

Overall I like this series but this particular book reads as “slap dash”, just quickly typed out story and plot that seemed wholly predictable and unlikely. E.g she turns up in Cornwall and happens to come across her ex-fiancé from 7 years ago, who just happens to be a carpenter who can help her in her job, who was also a journalist until he did a very random and unlikely career change. Sorry, Sarah! I do love the characters and the warm, cosy feeling I get when I read it though.
P.S the proofreading wasn’t great, I found at least 4 spelling mistakes and a word that was STRUCK THROUGH! It read as though it was edited but the struck through word wasn’t removed, as opposed to intentionally being there.

This is not a mystery, but a wonderful 6 stories of love. A new one will be out after 4/22/2022. The bay and the bakery are special places where couples find love. Lots of variety with the characters and the results. I'm sure that you will enjoy these books. Happy Reading !!!
This is a lovely book and has all the qualities and things I love at Cornish bakery book series. But after finishing 6 books in this series, I don't want the series to have the same story type with different characters. That's the only negative I can think of. And definitely recommended and 4 stars out of 5

You’ll find yourself rooting for Molly and falling in love with all of the Bakery family characters. These are short and very sweet stories that are sure to please.
Easy enough to read in a few hours. Predictable as the rest of the series, but I do like how Sarah Hope doesn’t forget about characters from previous books.
As usual a lovely, enjoyable easy read, predictable but who doesn't like a happy ending.Every place should have an Elsie.I love the bakery family. I'm all set for Carrie's story now.
