Sir Georg Solti KBE (born Stern György) was an orchestral and operatic conductor, and as classical recording artist, winner of over 30 Grammy Awards. He served as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; and from 1969 until 1991, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
