This might be the fastest read through I’ve completed. I did it a bit differently this time, starting with Matthew, finishing the NT, and then reading the OT. I think NKJV is my favorite translation for personal reading.
I absolutely loved this Bible! This fantastic edition is so easy to understand, has giant print which I really enjoyed reading and it also has an app that has the audio version of the Bible and a lot of other features. Honestly for the longest time I couldn’t connect the app with the Bible for some reason but one day at the end of September I felt a call that I needed to try to connect it again and it worked immediately. The audiobook version was so handy and it made me read the Bible so much more and connect to it on a deeper level. The narration was also great.
I loved listening to the Bible everyday for hours and hours while working on a Christmas present for my Mom. I felt my relationship with God strengthen every day and while I’ve been Christian my whole life this was my first time reading the Bible from the beginning to the end. I’m so happy that I finally read it fully and I definitely want to start it all over again. 🥹🤍
I’m so grateful for God!
If you’re looking for a Bible then I definitely recommend this one. It also has so many different cover designs.
Reading NLT Wide Margin Bible, Filament Enabled felt like opening a space where faith and creativity can meet together. As a reviewer, I have seen many editions of the Bible, but this one stood out to me because it encourages readers not only to read Scripture but also to interact with it personally.
One of the first things I noticed was the wide margins. They give plenty of room for writing notes, prayers, reflections, or even small drawings while reading. I personally enjoy writing my thoughts beside meaningful passages, and this format made that experience very comfortable. The single-column layout also makes the text feel clean and easy to read without distractions.
Another feature I appreciated is the connection with the Filament Bible app. While the printed Bible itself is simple and elegant, the app adds a deeper layer of study. Through the app, readers can access study notes, devotionals, videos, and maps that help explain the passages more clearly. I found this especially useful when trying to understand the historical and spiritual context of certain verses.
The New Living Translation is known for its clear and natural language, and this edition keeps that strength. The wording is smooth and easy to follow, which makes it suitable for both new readers and those who study the Bible regularly. The quality of the paper, binding, and overall design also feels durable and thoughtfully made.
Overall, I felt that this Bible is more than just a reading copy. It invites reflection, creativity, and deeper study. Whether someone wants to journal their spiritual journey, study Scripture in detail, or simply read comfortably, this edition provides the space and tools to do so.
Larger print version (preachers Bible edition) please. This Bible has a great layout with references in the gutter (near the spine) which puts the single column text into the main part of the page. This edition also follows the verse by verse format layout, rather than the paragraph layout, which is already available in the NKJV in two different text sizes. Unfortunately, the paper in the edition I am reviewing is yellow rather than the bright white of the paragraph format edition. Also, bearing in mind verse by verse format is preferred by preachers and more 'traditional' Bible readers, then, in my opinion the choice of font size is way too small. I Hope Nelson/Harper Collins are planning to release a large print version/preachers version. If they don't...they are missing a trick. Sadly, I suspect that the choice of font size fell down to a corporate decision that...we already provide a larger print single column in the NKJV (albeit in paragraph), plus this text block size appears to be Nelson/Harper Collins go to budget print. Beyond that, a larger print size would have either increased the block size, or book thickness, which might preclude it from being a convenient travel/bag options for the lads and ladies.
2024 - Currently using a 365 Chronological order list. For my personal 75 Soft version to read non-fiction, I began with the History sections.
I'm not religious. Grew up Episcopalian and only remember our youth group reading parts of the bible plus attended some of my Baptist grandmother's Vacation Bible School. But never really read the bible. Felt like I needed a Bible For Dummies but since that doesn't exist, after researching the versions, settled on the NLT since King James felt like muddling through Greek.
Poor eyesight, am very much enjoying this Super Giant print! The soft cover binding is beautiful, I love holding it. The ultra thin paper takes some getting used to, fearful of tearing it. Haven't yet tried but am considering turning it into a 'bible garden'. Already looking up getting tabs for it to facilitate as I remembered most of the book names (from so many years ago) but no clue about the order.
