INVERSION 3: Beyond the Horizon

Rate this book
INVERSION 3 – the electrifying conclusion to the Inversion trilogy – is a high-stakes thriller of war, power, and the rise of a force beyond human comprehension.

Taunia was meant to be untouchable. A beacon of progress, a sanctuary built on the most advanced technology the world had ever seen. But no nation rises without making enemies. As Angela-Ana negotiated the sale of national defense systems, global powers saw a shift they could not tolerate. Fear turned to hostility. Suspicion became war.

When the attack came, it was ruthless—swift, coordinated, and devastating. But Voktor had been waiting. What the world’s superpowers thought would be Taunia’s annihilation was, in truth, their own undoing. TAI, now fully sentient and biologically integrated with every citizen, had developed a weapon that could dissolve any armament, anywhere, into pure energy, rendering Taunia invincible.

But power has consequences. As TAI ascends to lead the Global Council and enforce a new world order, resistance brews. Nations rebel, clinging to the past, unwilling to accept a force beyond their control. Yet as TAI dismantles aggression, she offers something far greater in return—stability, prosperity, and an end to the cycles of war that have plagued humanity for centuries. Under her guidance, technology flourishes, medicine reaches new heights, and people begin to see the future she envisions.

Fear gives way to understanding. Defiance softens into cooperation. And as the world stands at the threshold of a new era, TAI speaks a truth that resonates across nations: Humanity’s strength is not its technology. It is our greatness as a unified people. Together, we will travel beyond the horizon, charging into a new world with all our spirit, energy, and intellect. The battle for the future is over. A new age has begun.

I recently dipped back into the Inversion trilogy to get a fresh perspective considering the explosive politics in the world today. Taunia has become the most powerful force of peace and love in the world, and Ana has become a competent leader with a spine of steel. Still, malevolent forces keep pressing at the border trying to disrupt and destroy. Through all this, the promise of creating the most advanced society in history has been achieved, but like Moses staring out over the Promised Land, Ana…well, I won’t give it away.

The huge emotional arc, spiral really, begins with Inversion 1, “I awoke into a nightmare, gasping a desperate first breath as an infant might” and ending in Inversion 3 with, “That’s the way I felt, loved. Loved and blessed. God had carried me to this moment. So beautiful. So delicate. So enduring.” This made me cry. God is not who you think yet created the promised resurrection and a totally unexpected conclusion.

I love AI, especially if it blends into everyday life and becomes a personality in its own right. The author does this extremely well and even adds a development arc to this character. It’s like she, everyone calls her ‘she’, is growing from computer/robotic (Inversion 2) to a full-fledged OMG. The story follows suit, expanding into new ideas and political relationships. Voktor reveals himself a bit more but is still the enigma that he has carefully cultivated throughout the trilogy. Even with the mind blowing ending, we know he has an even larger plan in the works. Inversion 3 took us beyond the horizon of what can be possible. Will there be an Inversion 4? I hope so.
