Second Chances

“Hang on to your panties because apparently, I keep losing mine. It's gonna be a sexy ride”

Okay! So breaking into my work at night to steal some cash and then running from the cops may not have been my brightest idea. But I needed the money. A girl had to eat.

I had a choice. Go to juvie for 18 months or two years at some Prep school for misguided kids.

What I did not expect at this prep school, was running into my EX best friend Oliver. Now 6 ft tall, sexy as hell, covered in tattoos and all muscles. Who by the way, literally fucked me over.

Oh and his two equally as sexy best friends Talon, full of himself walking sex god with pantie melting smile. And Ben with his shy smile and mysterious vibe.

Add on my drop dead gorgeous roommate Charlie, sassy/bubbly personality with a heart of gold. And don't forget to throw in some crazy psycho bitch who wants me dead.

Fun, games and mind blowing sex aside, the other shoe always drops. I sure as hell was not ready for it. Will Charlie and the guys be ?

Emerald Lake Prep is a Reverse harem series and has a lot of sexual scenes that are meant for 18+ . Please note that all characters involved in sexual activity are all over the age of 18 and consensual. F/F and M/M content. Trigger warnings. Drug and alcohol use. Attempted sexual assault. Miscarriage.

DNF’d at 20%

This read terribly juvenile and immature. I was excited to read a RH with ff within the harem, but the story was so rushed and the characters so childish, it was impossible for me to suspend my disbelief in order to enjoy this.

Every dialogue was plagued with exclamation marks, which made the story feel very amateur and pulled me completely out of what was happening. I could’ve ignored a few !! here and there but this happened constantly and it drove me crazy lol

There’s no real conflict to keep you interested. MC’s childhood best friend broke her heart years ago but “he had a reason.” He’s still madly in love with her and is set to win her back. His two best friends fall for her the moment they see her, and he’s okay with that. Meanwhile MC’s roommate asks her out and says she’s okay sharing the MC with this childhood friend and his friends. All this happens within the first 20% of the story. Everything is too easy, there’s no tension or any kind of angst. At least not the good kind.

Because there’s a “mean girl” character, who’s completely obsessed with the childhood best friend and is pursuing him even though he said he wasn’t interested several times, whose only purpose is to ensure misogynistic stereotypes of predatory females and catty women fighting over a loser.

Hard pass.

I was given an arc copy of this book. Which made me hate to have to review it this way, but I don't lie on reviews so here we go.

Emmy and Charlie are both annoying characters, written extremely immaturely. Being young adults that are in a reform type situation I would expect them to have hardened or more mature personalities. Especially our MC since she has grown up in a bad home environment and had to care for herself all these years.

She is willing to be in a relationship with Charlie, and then a separate relationship with 3 guys, but had only had sex once before she met them and gets overtly embarrassed by the smallest things like one of the guys winking at her or smiling at her. It creates a character conflict in my eyes. Most people that are willing to have multiple relationships during the same time period wouldn't be reacting the way she does over flirting and simple words.

At 30% still not sure what the point/conflict of the story is. All we really have is the minor situation with Oliver and Emmy and a minor conflict with Brittany. Not sure where the actual conflict (point of the story) that we are aiming to solve is.

Excessive use of punctuation to try to show excitement or anger instead of using writing to portray those feelings. (Ex: "OH god, what if we freeze to death????" Instead of "Oh God, what if we freeze to death?", Charlie whimpered in a worried tone.)

Everything that happened with Brittany and the video seemed a bit much for me. Slut shaming her in front of the entire school, while in a relationship with 4 people, seems a bit contradictory for me. I know Brittany was a bully, was always trying to hurt Emmy, and obsessive about Oliver but it still made me sit back and think... okay she slept with a teacher, but you're having sexual relationships with 4 people at the same time, so why are we judging here.

Overall maybe the book just wasn't for me. It may be geared more for younger readers, even though the sexual context may be a bit too much for that age group. As an older, more seasoned, romance reader it felt way too young for me. I couldn't connect with the characters on much of anything. I needed more consistancy from the story line instead of smaller bits of drama along the way. I wanted the characters to have stronger more defined personalities. It's not a bad book, I don't believe in bad books, I just don't think it's for me.

Spoilers ahead and trigger warning (discussion of sex crime/victim blaming).
TL;DR:

To sum up, this book is missing a consistent conflict to let the story flow naturally and instead jumps from one random event to the next, the main characters are unlikable and it is difficult to connect with the journey. There is some problematic slut-shaming content in this book. If you consider yourself a feminist, I don’t think this book is for you.
Despite these shortcomings, the sex scenes were well done and the author may have a promising future in erotica. If you are interested in reverse harem smut, you may enjoy this book. Full review below:

Storyline critiques:

This book is missing a sense of long lasting conflict. I think it would be more engaging if the main characters had some overall arching goal that they were aiming towards throughout the book. As I was reading I found myself wondering “when will I be introduced to the major point of the story?”. We get a few teasers that perhaps a motorcycle gang will supply some much needed conflict, but this never seems to go anywhere. We do get some exciting minor conflicts, but, said conflicts are resolved within a chapter or two, and often in an unrealistic and hard to believe way (ex: committing two murders but deciding to send the ambulance to the house near by so there is time to dispose of the bodies and clean). In a context with a bunch of troubled teens having a 5 way relationship and ties to a motorcycle gang, there is PLENTY of opportunity for lasting conflict throughout the book. For example, perhaps one of the members of the relationship consistently doubts the ability of Emmy to share herself among 4 people. Perhaps one of the teachers finds out about their 5 way relationship and consistently tries to sabotage them. Perhaps the main characters need to find a way to expose and take down the morally corrupt teachers so that they can thrive in their relationship. We just need some goal in this book that takes the characters along a journey. Without any goal or stakes, the plot is driven by seemingly random high school happenings (e.g. lets go to the mall.. lets go camping.. talent show…Shakespeare in English class…). It is hard to become invested in the main character’s journey.

With that being said, the book is not boring. I commend the author for maintaining a sense of excitement throughout. Further, the sex scenes are decent and LGBTQ+ inclusive. This author clearly has potential to write erotica. Further, this book is well written in terms of readability ESPECIALLY for an author’s first ever book. The author was also clearly careful to look out for typos.

There is a substantial amount of cursing in this book. Cursing can really enhance a point in a book and portray intense emotion, but when the entire book is f this and f that, cursing comes off as an awkward attempt to connect with teen characters. Similarly, it is often difficult to believe some of the dialogue is coming from 18 year olds. The book also somehow dates itself, despite being written in 2020, with the use of songs being played that were popular in the early/late 2000s. I found myself often saying “18 year olds don’t talk or behave like this these days..”. I would say the book seems a little out of touch with modern day teens.
The main characters seem to be inconsistent in their feelings and dialogue (e.g. Oliver saying repeatedly that Emmy is “his”, acting super territorial, but then he quickly complies with his closest friends dating her while he dates her). The characters all blend together as they all seem to have the same “everything is fine and we love each other, we are so good at communicating and Emmy is our world” attitudes and dialogue. Charlie may be one of the only characters who seems to have a consistent separate personality.

Problematic content:

My major issue with this book is how unintentionally offensive it is (given today’s political climate), and how unfortunately unlikeable all the main characters are. For some reason, 4 separate characters are hopelessly in love with Emmy, and the reader is given little reason to understand why. What the reader sees is an extremely judgmental person. Here is why:
Emmy is quick to judge others and call others mean names (both explicitly and in internal monologue). Emmy talks down about other women for seemingly no reason. For example, referring to other nameless characters as “skanks” for being near one of her lovers, or having sex with strangers freely. Or, saying “women in Canada wear almost nothing even though its cold here. I’m not like that. (Paraphrasing)”. For a book that seems to be attempting to be sexually liberating, it is at times the furthest thing from. Women are shamed in this book for being sexual (another example: shaming Britney for what she wears in gym class. Whether Britney is or isn’t a bad character, what she wears in gym class does not make her any less deserving of respect, nor does it mean Britney has “no respect for herself”). Another example, one of the male characters states the reason he loves Emmy so much is because she didn’t how herself at him, like other girls do. The “I’m-not-like-other-girls” narrative is not endearing, it is mean. Whats so bad about the majority of “other girls”? this book seems to paint the narrative that women are less deserving of respect if they express their sexuality and sexual wants freely. There is almost no judgement on the men in this book who express their sexuality freely.

Finally, the main characters in this book commit a completely disgusting and tasteless crime against antagonist Britney. A video leaks of Britney having sex with the school counsellor and gym teacher during a counselling session. The main characters take it upon themselves to play the video in front of the entire school at a talent show in an attempt to “ruin” Britney. The scene is described in graphic detail and even the main character Emmy admits that the way the two men treat Britney is disrespectful. Britney is a victim of a crime here, and what the main characters did is downright disgusting. Firstly, as a student, a guidance counsellor having sex with her during a counselling session is a legally nonconsensual situation.  The teachers are at fault here, NOT Britney. Next, playing this video in front of others without Britney’s consent is a serious crime. The response to this scene by the other characters is horrifying. Britney’s father calls her a family disgrace, and Britney gets expelled from the school. The main character refers to this as “karma”.  Somehow Britney is punished but no punishment is given to the characters who played this video in front of the entire school. Although Britney has done horrible things to the main characters, two wrongs do not make a right. After reading this, I completely turned on the main characters. If this was the author's intention, it was done remarkably well. But, unfortunately, I don’t think it was the authors intention.

I really wanted to like this book, it’s rare to find RH books with women in the harem and that was a big selling point for me. Unfortunately it didn’t hit the mark.

Emmy and Charlie’s relationship was probably what I enjoyed most about this book, and I really enjoyed their dynamic. Their connection was the most believable, her relationship with the guys was less so. We don’t see much of the ‘special connection’ Emmy and Olly had, rather we’re just told they have one, and even less is shown of why Ben and Talon fall so quickly for her.

I guess I have 3 main gripes:
Firstly, this is the most wattpad-esque story I’ve ever read outside of wattpad. A lot of things happen purely for plot convenience without any real reason, and it includes so many teen tropes. The cincher for me was that Emmy and Olly are revealed to be the kids of rival MC gang members. Lord, I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. How quickly they all agree to share Emmy was also a big plot contrivance I struggled getting past. Charlie just throws it out there without asking Emmy if she’s comfortable being in a polyamorous relationship, or before Emmy has even really interacted with these guys.

Secondly, the slut-shaming. Goddamn there’s a lot of slut-shaming. Not unusual for this genre, unfortunately. Brittany is a 2-dimensional villain whose only motivations are boys. Authors, please stop making romance villains jealous women. There are so many other ways to create suspense without vilifying other women. We also have the dreaded “she’s not like other girls” line.

Thirdly, all the characters are incredibly immature. I will say that I’m generally hesitant when picking up romances with characters that are 18-20, it’s not something I usually go for but it can be done well. Considering these characters are from tough backgrounds I would have assumed they would be mature, but they are all frighteningly naive. And! They! Use! A lot! Of! Exclamation! Marks! Which just makes them feel even younger.

So yeah, I powered through the first book but won’t be continuing the series.

Holy sh*t…

This is the first book in the Emerald Lake Prep series and let me tell you that it is INSANE…. But also so freaking good… This was such an addicting book that I just couldn’t put down!

Second Chances is all about Emmy, who is sent to Emerald Lake Prep as an alternative to jail after getting caught stealing. Emmy has definitely been through hell, especially having a mother that doesn’t care about her at all. While Emmy is there she ends up meeting new people and also seeing her ex best friend. Theres plenty of drama, angst, steam, and lots of questions THAT I CURRENTLY HAVE…. *okay I am good*

Ahem. Anyways, when I first started this book I wasn’t totally sure what to expect. Well, I ended up really enjoying this one. It’s a very unique story, and it’s definitely not your typical reverse harem. There are a lot of heartfelt moments between Emmy and her group that I really liked. Gah, Charlie is so sweet and a total bad*ss when it comes to protecting Emmy. Ben is just the cutest guy, and also HE LOVES TO READ! I wasn’t quite sure about Talon at first, but now I love him! He’s so sweet with Ben and Emmy and I am all for that. Now, Oliver? I did not like him at first, but after hearing his side of the story I started to like him more and more. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say give the guy a chance if you do hate him at first.. 💀Emmy is a true bad*ss and I was totally rooting for her when people started crap and she held her ground.

Emmy’s guys and girl are so freaking sweet and protective of her. I love the whole group and I am so excited to read the second book. I’m super curious to know what’s going to happen next after that cliffhanger. Yes, I did say cliffhanger. 🥲

I could seriously go on and on about this book. I won’t though.. Just go and read it if this sounds like your kinda book. It’s very steamy and very entertaining.

Overall I’d give this one 4.5 stars!!

Also please be aware that there are a lot of things in this book that may be triggering for some.

Second Chances is the first book in Emerald Lake Prep by author Alisha Williams. I was really, really impressed by the author's other series Blood Empire, so I instantly jumped to check this one out. Unfortunately, this book is all over the place and doesn't have a consistent flow, which may end up causing boredom from all the time jumps over and over again.

The FMC Emmy is monotonous at best, but of course all cool kids in the book are instantly madly in love with her. Ollie I can understand since they were best friends for a long time before the events of this book, but the others had no real development with her. Charlie is the biggest example of a missed opportunity, as having F/F in a RH book is rare and it could've been a great storyline. However, they meet, are insta-lusting each other, then it's not even like a week in and they are super in love, and I'm still looking for the chemistry that was supposed to be there but didn't have time to develop. Something similar happens with the other two guys Talon and Ben, both with Emmy and each other. Talon and Ben are crushing hard on one another, and it's cute to see their friendship turn into something more, but I would have liked to see more depth in all of their relationships. The group sex scenes are hot, so I suppose I can give brownie points for those. We also have Oliver's brother Tyson as a possible love interest but his character didn't really add anything to the story, his role was basically being Emmy's bodyguard and that's it.

Emmy is a type of FMC that seems popular in romance books but I usually dislike. Seemingly little miss perfect, but hypocritical underneath. She talks down on other women in more than one occasion, being judgmental and petty. If it's not clear by now, I absolutely disliked Emmy and think she dragged the other characters down. It's not to say the other characters, specially the three main guys, are without flaws. There is a particular scene that bothered the hell out of me where Oliver, Talon and Ben release an intimate video of mean-girl Brittany and it's disgusting the way it all plays out. Up until that point, I was invested enough in those three boys, but this scene was very disappointing and I ended up just rushing through the last few chapters so I could be done with it, which is not a good sign.

I'm still debating whether to continue the series. It's difficult to decide because even with all its flaws, I didn't particularly hate the book and would like to see a better development of these characters.

2.5/5 stars.

This book was suggested in one of the book groups I belong to. I was never led astray but I gotta say this book was just not it.
Now, if this was a book written by a teenager starting her journey, this would have been amazing. Sadly that isnt the case.
I've never read a book that had so much going on but at the same time be incredibly immature and boring. I kept waiting for something to happen... The plot to come together but it never did.
The CONSTANT wet/ruined panties several times in every chapter made me want to slap myself. It took a lot of will power to finish this book. I started book 2 hoping it would get better but I had to put it in my DNF pile.
The voer is beautiful though. I'll give it that

DNF’d at around 25 per cent. It's not that it was bad, but I've read academy/prep books before and never really felt like I was intruding on a teen's diary. Unfortunately, that's precisely the vibe I got from this book.

The characters are all 18+, but the dialogue and inner monologue from Emmy felt too young for me. It was all punctuation, e.g. ??!! and !!, without any real descriptions of the characters emotions.

It's tough because I know these types of series can be done well (hello, Hannaford Prep?), but I wasn't enjoying this one.

Giving it three stars because I think it was a preference on my side - what I read was okay, but just not my thing.

Grab a spare pair of panties and let’s go! Second Chances (Emerald Lake Prep, #1) by Alisha Williams, sucks you in from the first page and keeps you begging for more past the last. Second Chances follows Emmy, sent to Emerald Lake Prep as an alternative to juvie, after being forced to make some hard choices as a result of a mother that doesn’t care and isn’t around.

Emerald Lake Prep proves to be the better option, most of the time, when Emmy meets a solid group of friends (and more) shortly after her arrival. There are lots of great bonding moments between Emmy and her guys and girl, the cementing of solid relationships, plenty of conflict, and crazy bitches, to keep you on your toes. This book contains twists and turns that you don’t see coming, laugh out loud moments that will make you put the book down to catch your breath, and then of course an ending that will have you wanting to throw your book or reading device at the wall while wailing for “MORE!!!”. I also need to add that Second Chances has expanded my vocabulary in reference to male genitalia and some of the ones I shared with my husband had him cracking up as well!

I can’t wait to see where book two will take us! I’m hoping to get some answers about Emmy’s biological family, a decision on one more possible (please please yes) harem member, and how the multifaceted cliffhanger will be dealt with. I need answers! I highly recommend this book and already have plans to reread! Get it now!

I got bored reading this. I was excited because this RH had FF but it bored me. In my humble opinion, nothing really important was going on and some plot points were repetitive. I also didn’t like how the MC's referred to any other woman who wasn’t Charlie or Emmy as sluts, whores, etc.

I bought all of the books on kindle so I hope the next books are better and I can enjoy them. This was not my favorite but maybe you’ll like it. Toodles!

Potential spoilers at end of review.

Trigger warnings for the book of sexual assault, victim / slut shaming, violence, and miscarriage.

This book / series was recommended in one of the book groups I am in. I have loved all other recommendations so color me shocked when I found myself with a book that was just not for me.

Positive things about the book - I really commend the author for writing an inclusive LBGTQ+ book with well done sex scenes.

After that things went down hill for me personally. I am still not sure of the overall arching conflict or the major plot point of the book is, and thats fine. Some books are really just about the smut. I also found the book conflicting in the way that our FMC has only had sex once, and it wasn't even a fulfilling experience, and now she is open to a full on harem and group activities. What makes this conflicting is how shy and embarrassed she gets over the smallest flirtations, but then wants 3 men at once.

Another hard thing for me to personally overlook was the very high school feel of this. Now yes I know that going into the book this was a high school setting with characters aged at 18 - what I mean is the overall FEEL of the emotional maturity of the characters. They have supposedly lived hard lives doing things bad enough to be given the choice of Jail or reform school and they are written to be overly immature.

And Spoiler alert for the info below.

Pregnancy? Really? Now this is a personal feeling but I find nothing attractive about reading a RH with pregnant teenagers. After the so called "plot twist" at the end of the book where our MC is pregnant I found I could no longer force myself to read the rest of the book / series.

This is the debut book of this author and I think it was OK in general terms. The plot is OK, the story flows well, the reader does not get bored, there are several twists ans turns, there is serious steam, drama, a roller-coaster of emotions, and most of the characters are interesting. However, there are some phrases within the book that are repeated many times, which in my opinion tires the reader and it is quite frustrating. Also, since this a series, I think that the boys (not Oliver) developed strong feelings for Emmy way too soon in the book (1-2 months since her arrival and at app. 25-30% of the book). I'd prefer if this had happened a little later on. Also, it seemed to me that Emmy forgave Oliver very easily after what he did to her. He is supposed to be the love of her life, but then again, she mentions quite often that he broke her heart.
If you're looking for a light, quick read with high levels of steam, this might be it. It just wasn't my jam.

I received an ARC from the author and I provide my honest review.

I received this book as an ARC reader for the debut novel of Alisha Williams.

First of all, let me say I was blown away that this was the authors first book, it was awesome !

This book has a few ideas that people may find triggering, but most happens off scene or in memories so all in all not that big of a deal. This book also describes mm and ff aspects to her group.

The FMC Emmy is awesome. She is strong but is also willing to take help and support when needed. Despite the not easiest upbringing she is able to still love and trust without being jaded. The first main guy we learn about is Oliver, and then we are introduced to his two friends at school, Talon and Ben. They are the perfect trio and each help Emmy and love her in their own way! Emmy’s main female partner is the ever so spunky Charlie ! I think she is the perfect mix for Emmy and really helps her come into her own.

ELP has a lot of different twists and turns which makes it different from your normal Academy books. It definitely keeps you guessing as what may happen next ! It does end on a cliffhanger, but that just makes you more excited for the next installment! Regardless, this was a great debut novel and I can’t wait to read more from this author !

Well....

Okay, so this book has me on the fence. This was like one really long lead-up to a story it almose seemed. Don't get me wrong, it was good to get an idea of the relationships and how they all worked. But this book seemed like alot of sex and quick love but not much more than a small plot. It was almost like an extremely long prologue and I do mean extremely long. I loved the characters even though it was definitely new for me with adding another female to the mix. You couldn't help but fall in love with the guys, but something was missing. I'm not sure what but it just seemed a little blah after awhile. It has a good build-up to something more but then just kind of fell a little flat. Hopefully, the next book is better because I am intrigued.

so good

Originally I had tried to read this and stopped when I realized it had f/f, just not my thing. However I was tired of hearing how great this was and realizing, I needed to expand my horizons.Boy I’m glad I did, this book is awesome. The characters are great, well developed, and still developing. The world building is phenomenal and I just want to stay inside this book.
Lots of twist and turns, lots of developments, and honestly not far fetched. The relationship developments are smooth, and natural, and wonderful. I love the interaction between characters is great, there are laughs to break everything else up, so you are not overwhelmed by some of the other things going on. Told in multiple pov, this book and characters are a pure treat.

I liked the premise of the book. The plot was pretty decent. It want as predictable as some of the rh books. I just wish the characters were a bit older.
So many plot twists I did not see coming. I hope to see more of Tyson in the second book.

This is a fast paced RH that kept me flipping from page to page. There are lots of steamy scenes including F/F and M/M. I really like Emmy and found her to be quite funny at times. She has had a rough childhood but is able to find love in her foster parents and her harem. I also like Charlie, Talon, Ben, and Oliver. I honestly can’t decide who is my favorite right now. I’m excited to see where this series goes and what happens with Tyson because I like him too!

This is the debut novel of Alisha Williams and I would never have guessed that she is a brand new author! This book was beautifully written! The characters were entertaining as hell! I loved Emmy and everything she represented! The RH level was in my opinion perfect! This is a must read for anyone who loves RH and redemption! This book does involve m/m, f/f, and m/f/m.

Hard to believe this is Alisha’s debut novel. What an amazing series starter. At first I thought I’d have a hard time connecting with the characters because of their ages but I really ended up relating with them more than I expected. The angst, the chemistry, the genuine sweet connections between Emmy and her loves, it all just took me for a great ride and that ending! What?!?! So ready for book 2!

I really liked the first 45% of this book, and then had to force myself through the rest.
The first part was a lot more slow paced (in time, not in action/drama/etc) and were a lot more day-to-day. The point I started not being a huge fan was at how the revelation of her miscarriage was told, I fel that was very ….convenient… that she suddenly «remembered» then? I just felt it could have been something taking up some more space in the plot over time, because it was such a traumatic loss and deserved more attention when it first was a topic.
The second half of this book was VERY fast paced, it basically sped through the enitre school year with random pauses to show a day or event in their life. And since there will be a book two anyway, I dont’t understand why not just cut this one in half and flesh out the plot more in the second half so it wasn’t just a houndred pages of «the last few weeks were great» and «it was now june» etc etc.

Disappointed, because it was a great start and I really liked the characters.
And really liked a this being a reverse harem with f/f.

monsoon panties

I got to chapter ten and I had to stop. There is potential, but I was not a fan of this author’s style of writing. It’s a lot of tell not show, a ton of repetitive phrases, and honestly the dialogue sounds like that of a teenager… In my head, as some of the characters were talking I just kept envisioning a 13 year old being so overly dramatic and almost speaking as if they were writing into a diary.

The constant phrase of “my panties are damp” was used so many times that if I played a drinking game and took a shot for every “damp panty” phrase I’d be passed out….. and I only read till chapter 10.

I just don’t think this book was well thought out or developed, and the flighty way the characters felt for each other, the instant hot and cold and chemistry felt unnatural. Girl enters school has a few flirty gazes sent her way and she’s automatically sizing them as potential boyfriend candidates. Then the chick has been there less than 48 hours and is totally in lust with Charlie.

There’s no development. It’s an instant wham bam I’m basically in love with you. There’s no real moments of get to know each other. FMC has tattoos and played guitar. There’s no real growth or potential for growth. Everything is so rushed and insta. And the FMCs personality is confusing and contradictory. She’s timid, but unafraid to deck a girl in the face, shy and private but blunt and sets her business all out in the open literally tells her life story only knowing her roommates for a few hours, not afraid to talk, but embarrasses super easily, has no real sexual experience yet acts like a freaking succubus horn dog, has no relationship experience then jumps immediately into one with no reservations not even really knowing Charlie but being sexually attracted .

I have to bring it up again: the freaking damp panties…. There are other ways to rework that phrase….I don’t know how many times the FMC discussed needing to buy more panties or how even the slightest smolder created a typhoon in her undercarriage. She sounds like a pubescent boy who should probably have lab work drawn because her electrolyte levels must be off the charts with how dehydrated she must be getting from a loss of fluids….

I was hoping that someone would’ve put spoilers in their reviews- unfortunately I do not see myself spending time to figure out what more happens in this dumpster fire series , and quite honestly after seeing so many good reviews I’m unsure if I read the same book or what’s going on with these “honest” reviewers.

An Impressive Debut

Wow, I'm still trying to figure out what just happened. This book blew me away, my emotions are all over the place for a debut this was really impressive.

So the basics, this book is RH with some FF and MM action as well. All the relationships are being given time to develop and for feelings to grow in a realistic way, it's neither rushed or slow burn...it's definitely all the heat.

The character development and story content was there, with a good story in this book whilst running with the overall story arc. It had plenty of action, some fun, some emotional scenes and back stories and plenty of steam if you're into that...who needs more panties? Yep everyone that read the book! Were there things that could be improved on sure, but I was really impressed, there were some bold choices with the content too especially that cliffie!

I can't wait for book two to see how the story and relationships develop, especially after that ending. I'm also expecting our last guy to come into the fold more...or I could be wrong not like there hasn't been a few surprises in this book!

What. A. Ride!! And why are my panties all wet again?? 😄

This book is hilarious and sexy and exciting and heartbreaking and beautiful, all mixed into one hell of a story.

The story about Emmy who gets sent to Emerald Lake Prep (ELP) because of a bad decision. But once there, she finds a piece of her past she never thought to see again, Oliver, her ex-best friend who broke her heart and left her behind to struggle through her bad situation on her own.

But ELP provides her with a second chance to find love and create a better future for herself, and in the company of great friends and sexy lovers (because in a RH #whychoose) her life becomes something worth fighting for, even though the jealous stalker b**ch, who wants her man, never let's her enjoy it all for long.

I have read this book so many times and I still laugh out loud at all the funny scenes, and trust me, there are quite a few! 😄 The humour is amazing, the sex scenes steamy and diverse and the characters feel like your best friends when you reach the end.

This is such a strong debut novel from Alisha and I personally can't wait for the next one.

Different,Refreshing,Interesting and Steamy.
Get some panties because you will need to change yours with this book.

Emmy is a young girl that have been though a lot she have dark past and secrets. She gets send out to Emerald Lake Prep and everything was fine till she sees someone from her past that broke her heart. We get to see a lot of thing that where very hard for her and broke her.

I loved so much that she had Charlie OMG I love Charlie so much she is there for Emmy and she love Emmy so much that she helps her with the guys. I loved that every relationdship was very well developed nothing was rushed and I really like that. Every one of the characters have very different personalities and it was very easy to follow and know who was who.

All of the characters have their secrets and that makes the story more interesting because you want to know more about them. Also all of them complement each other so much that it shows. The guys respect Charlie and have a sweet friendship with her.

The sex scene OMG steamy AF really well done.

I really like this book it was an amazing I can't wait for next book. The ending got me on my feelings wanting more.

This is a fast paced RH with darker themes. Emmy stole money and was caught and the judge offered her an option. Going to juvie or go to Emerald Lake Prep. She decides to go to ELP. This is where she finds her ex and she isn't happy to see him while she is still in love with him. But she meets Charlie, a lesbian girl and she falls for her but at some point Charlie knows she still cares for her ex and notices she also is falling for Ben. Charlie wants her happy and if that means sharing her with 3 guys she will. Emmy is searching for love because at home she didn't get it. This gets 3,5 stars.
