What if her future happiness lies in a time tangled past? The last of those who loved her are gone. With nothing left for Kate Moreton in New Zealand, it’s time to start over. She’s pinned her hopes of finding friends, family, and maybe even love, on a new life in London. What Kate doesn’t know is this journey will lead her to two men, two loves—and two lives. James Beckett is a hot-shot film producer on the road to the top. The brash confidence that’s taken him there is not a star quality Kate would ever seek in her ideal man. Not to mention the complication that he’s her new best friend’s brother. But is there a hidden talent for love underneath his cool exterior that might make her reconsider? Alex Macleod is a Scottish film star heartthrob who struggles with the glare of celebrity. Burnt before, he’s erased love from the script of his life. When his path crosses that of a sweet Kiwi girl who is unaware of his fame, perhaps there are other possibilities in their friendship. But time is a trickster, offering Kate the love of two men while threatening to take them both away. She’ll need to fight to get the second chance at happiness she deserves. Tangled Threads is time travel romance with a twist. If you were obsessed by Outlander’s time-crossed love-triangle or intrigued by the premise of parallel lives in Maybe In Another Life , then you’ll love this story, the first in the Tangled in Time series. It can also be read as a satisfying standalone. This is a new adult, dual point of view romance novel, in an international setting, with elements of found family, enemies to friends to lovers, friends to lovers and the enduring power of female friendships.
Caroline Corvin is a writer of romance fiction. Before publishing her first novel, Caroline had a career in education, from classroom teacher of lively little people, to principal of a large primary school. Mother of fur kids—dogs, cats and vertically challenged horses—she’s sometimes described as animal obsessed. But she’s made room in her life for her other magnificent obsessions: travel, genealogy, history, some stargazing and, of course, books.
Raised under the shadow of a volcano in provincial New Zealand, she now lives on the edge of Auckland, the City of Sails with stunning beaches and good coffee (and surrounded by more volcanoes, fortunately extinct).
Caroline didn’t set out to write romance, but her characters took control the moment she let them loose on the page, reminding her that finding happy ever afters are the reason she’s one of those people who sometimes reads the last page first—just to be safe.
Somewhat new to this trope and I gotta say I do enjoy how the author has written it. Good plot, spice 😉... The characters are well developed. Gets ya feeling some big feels. You'll definitely wanna keep reading the other books on the series.
I loved this book, I think Caroline did a fabulous job by writing Tangled Threads, brilliant storyline that’s captivating and entwines life and a parallel universe.
This was a good story about parallel lives. Katie's story crosses back and forth between her parallel lives until a traumatic event changes everything. The characters in both storylines are likeable and have chemistry and the ending is a nice wrap up. This was a sweet novel with minimal spice.
A great fantasy read with some wonderful characters that you root for and are so invested in right away. It’s an interesting take on the time travel type of romance as we can see how in different moments of life and time, how our hearts and lives can be taken in such different directions but no matter what, we will get to where we are truly meant to be.
Kate's book is a truly heart felt moving story filled with many beautiful wonderful moments, even when life takes a different path then you planned.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m so glad that I finally got around to jumping back into this series! I read book four and the prequel previously, so I thought I knew what to expect… but once again, Caroline Corvin has blown me away with her ability to transport you into the world she created. Descriptions so vivid that you experience the story with all five senses. This story, like the others I’ve read in the series, centers around parallel timelines. Kate is a teacher who takes a job in London after the last of her family passes. There, she meets James, her best friend’s brother. We find out in the prologue what happens in that relationship, and the rest of the story tells how she got there. We start in one timeline, switch to the other, and then they merge seamlessly. If you’re looking for something beautiful and out of the ordinary, try this one on for size.
This story was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was angry, sad, and happy while reading. It is an original twist on time traveling, keeping me guessing if part of the story was Kate's reality or just a dream. I was not a fan of James. He frustrated me with his personality and mannerisms towards Kate. I was team Alex from the beginning. In the end, I found the story to be an entertaining heart clenching romance.
As someone who enjoys outlander and having relationships taking place in two time periods I was excited to read this book. I enjoyed the characters, story and chemistry. I’m excited to read more in the future.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A thoroughly enjoyable read, I loved the characters and the two storylines. I’ll be looking out for more books by Carline Corvin. I won this book in an online book club when Caroline was the author of the day. My review is voluntary
So the book begins with destiny separating two soulmates and turning their world upside down. Then we go back to the present and character’s history and how they formed such an unfathomable bond yet destiny is so strange, first it acquainted Kate with James, a film producer but destiny took away him from her in an unfortunate accident then she met Alex, a Scottish film star/ Heartthrob. He offered her to move in and they eventually formed an unbreakable bond but what destiny has in attic for them? Will destiny again separate Alex and Kate ?
This follows the odyssey of Kate trying to find her happily ever after and trying to tie the bonds of friendship, family and love. After being thrown into darkness, she wants to look at the brighter side but she is oblivious to destiny. Will she find her happily ever after?
Two great loves. Tragedy. Lives somehow intertwined. I absolutely loved the way this book takes you into Kate’s life so thoroughly to the point that you’re so invested in the storyline, then in one simple action the story totally up ends itself and shoots you in another direction leaving you wondering where it’s going to go next. This story has it all, great characters, love, tragedy, unexplainable time movements. I was eager to keep reading to see where and how the story went. Really great read. I received a copy of this novel for my honest review.
Having read a short story of Caroline's earlier, I knew I'd really enjoy the split timeline storyline. What I didn't realise was that it would touch on my own family history! As a McNeil, Barra and Kisimul Castle has always been a dream to go to, and here it was in this book. As a now Campbell, I had a giggle when they came up. Caroline really brings to life the scenes in her books, with impeccable descriptions and such real thoughts. Her characters feel alive and I really connected with them. Looking forward to reading more!
Second one of Caroline’s that I have now read, and it was an enjoyable read. I didnt think it flowed as well as her third book in the series, but it might have been because I didnt read it in one sitting. Characters are well constructed and could relate to their stories. Looking forward to reading the second one in this series :)
I strongly believe this book has the power to touch a much wider audience. Readers who crave emotional depth, time, bending romance, and beautifully written love stories will resonate deeply with your work. Please don’t lose momentum, your voice is needed, and this story deserves to be seen by many more readers around the world.
